You can literally replace most of this with any store chain in america with a rewards program or fast food restaurant (like a pizza place). That "light ice trick" isn't supposed to work. Starbucks baristas are supposed to give you the same amount of ounces in your drink whether you order it the regular way, get light ice, or no ice at all. It's just that oftentimes they will fill it to the top anyway, either because they're in a hurry and they don't feel like measuring out the appropriate amount, they're afraid you'll complain and they don't want to deal with it, or maybe you're a regular and they just like you. Often it just depends on the location. I worked at two different Starbucks when I was a barista back in the day; one location was very laid-back and whenever someone would ask for light ice I would generally just fill the drink to the top, but the other location was very much by the book, and I would have never done that while working at that store for fear of getting yelled at by the manager. What I'm saying basically is that if you do try this "sneaky trick", don't get mad if they hand you your drink and it's not filled to the top, that just means that barista is simply doing what they're supposed to do.
I've asked for light ice in different Starbucks and they always tell me that the amount will be the same because they have standard measurements for each size.
A couple more tips: Some cold drinks have cold water added. You can substitute their iced teas instead of the water for no added charge. Some hot drinks are half water, half milk. You can ask for no water and they’ll make them with all milk for no extra cost. Their specialty milks like soy, almond and coconut cost extra. Getting extra pumps of the same syrup a drink comes with doesn’t cost extra. Whereas getting one pump of something different will.
I Have been binging this kind of videos from Business Insider for a while now they should make a Video Titled "Sneaky Ways Business Insider Gets You To Watch More of their Videos"
As an SBUX shareholder, I’m here to tell you to not think twice. You need Starbucks in your life. You will go there today. It puts the lotion on its skin.
Starbucks is huge in USA. You can find plenty of them in almost all cities in USA and it is common to see everyone carry a Starbucks cup in the morning. In Australia, people will spit on Starbucks and dump it down the drain. Australia has among the worlds best coffee and Starbucks will never match up. Probably why it never took off in Australia in the first place.
Literally every retailer does most of these things. The happy hour is probably the only unique thing. The light ice trick saves them so much money because the most expensive ingredient is the ice.
This channel can be a real eye opener for some people. Starbucks is expensive for someone who buys coffee on a regular basis. As long as it's cheap and strong, I'll drink it.
Just the opposite with me, after their social engineering stunt I began to feel unsafe in their stores. Very happy now drinking a very nice cup of coffee at home which costs about 10 cents
I hate Starbucks. In the past I was addicted and I used to go every single day. Now I just go to Starbucks once a year. It has been like that for the past 4 years. Normally that happen in January and it's crazy how they increase the prices year by year... I might consider that it would be a good idea to never come back.
Honestly, as a starbucks employee, if you are worried about the prices of coffee and splurging, I would definitely recommend getting an iced coffee with pumps of flavoring(s) that you like. A trenta iced coffee with cream, sugar and flavoring is usually only $3 + whatever tax is in your state. You could also get our brewed coffee, such as pike, and get cream, sugar and pumps of flavoring in that as well, for about $2.50.
1:37 they say stores will often rearrange their layout, and I find this mildly funny. Theres a very small Starbucks in my home town that has a few tables outside the building. If you go inside, theres 3 chairs with a window view and the cash register is only 5 feet away from it. Definitely not one of the stores that can change up their layout lol
I have not had a Starbucks coffee in many months. I was addicted to Califia Farms coffee for awhile, but I gave it up awhile back, and I rarely have it these days.
Video is about Starbucks, not about coffee. Am I betraying I didn't watch? Damn right I m not watching nor spending my money at that place. They act as is they GD invented coffee.
The tall drink with light ice = a grande doesn’t work if you’re ordering an espresso based drink. A tall only has one shot of espresso, while a grande and venti both have two. The only difference between a grande and a venti espresso based drink is that the venti has one extra pump of syrup and 4oz more milk. So if you like coffee and not coffee flavoured milk, order a grande.
Starbucks is the newest addiction we have, replacing McDonald's super sized coke. LOL. it's possible they don't get you, but they probably eats into your pocket through your family members.
Starbucks should go in Japanese starbucks route, they released 3 new drinks for Halloween and 3 drinks for Christmas. They also have really cute seasonal tumblers and mugs that America needs to follow!
So they make their stores look good, have unique drinks, and make specials fun. I see no issues with any of this. Also, short is only for very select drinks like plain coffee. You can't get a short frap. There is another size too called trenta which is like XL for iced drinks like teas and iced coffees.
getting light ice in a tall isn’t going to get you the same amount of coffee that’s in a grande, unless you’re simply getting iced coffee. if you’re getting a latte, you’ll just get more milk with the same amount of espresso.
