These guys don’t get enough props for the amount effort they put into these videos and the grueling schedule I bet they have to commit to so they can all be online together for the game in the first place
i mean i get how opening hand ad naus is worth acting on it but after giving the izzet player 5 cards, i wouldnt have done it w/o a counter on my own end
**SPOILER** There is, but it doesn't really matter because he only used 1 of the treasures for 1 blue AFTER breach had already resolved, and Zack had an LED ready to go.
I am not sure if I see it correctly, but originally Dockside created 4 treasures. In the end Zack has 3 treasures and one untapped land so he would most likely win anyway even without creating treasures. I may be wrong though.
I don't get it. They were good at keeping track of the honor guard UNTIL that very point. For example, Derevi and Valki all skipped their triggers. Even though it didn't make a difference, there are few questions: 1) How is Mike able to keep track of Honor Guard, while the table watched him doing so (for example, no one tried to remind him he had etb triggers), and barely a turn later Zack misses it? 2) Why isn't RYAN who played the honor guard policing the table about ETB triggers. What's the point of playing the card if you either don't read it or don't care if it was working at all?
Never EVER have i seen the utility of Tana. Regardless, this was funny af. Kraum got elked like it was christmas; sisay almost degenerated everything with oko, teferi and najeela; and jhoira drew half of Zack's deck, milling everybody with brain freeze. 10/10 would totally recomend to watch again. Thanks for the awesome content u guys!!
I think Ryan threw the game away by going after Mike, at least with Jhoira still out. Double cloud key + everything, that deafening silence was the only thing keeping Zack from just popping off there.
Glad to see the end game review is back (unless it’s been back for a while and I’m out of the loop haha). It is one of my favorite parts of the videos.
Mike's deck is absolute fire. Awesome game. Probably one of the best in a while! love the grindfest...also, definitely a case for Oko being card of the game. Putting those commanders away so many times definitely had a huge impact.
I nearly frothed at the mouth seeing captain lannery storm in a CEDH game. She’s one of my favorite cards but she was so underrated when she was in standard.
WOOO JHOIRA! LETS GO! She was my first and currently only cedh deck. Some interesting card choices for the deck list here, less artifacts than expected with more non-artifact combos and value card.
Wow foldger my guy boo boo ya should have been patient and no feed the fish. Great game as always and the deciding factor for who goes first is great. Never change that.
Another win condition in Jhoira was to cast words of wind to represent a loop between Mox Opal and the talisman ({2} less because of the two cloud keys) bouncing each other but paying the one mana to skip the draw and make everybody return a permanent they control to their hand and then be one the with permanents XD
You are correct I would like to think that it did not affect the game since Zack also had Petal in his yard and he protected his breach with the swat, or if he didn't yet he had plenty of recurring draws with 0 interaction from folger / ryan.
Zack here, seems like a fine replacement. Honestly any efficient artifact should be fine. HB was one of those cards that if you could cast it, you should be playing it.
Is Mike allowed to use Jegantha as a companion in his deck? Captain Lannery Storm and Najeela, the Blade Blossom have the same Mana cost so wouldn't that turn off Jegantha's companion ability. Overall great game well played to all. That Kraum cast stat at the end was savage.
@@jacobjensen7704 I finally figured it out. I have been misunderstanding the restrictions for far to long. I need to look at my friends 5 color deck and see if he is able to add it as a companion too.
I don't think it would have stopped the win from Zack but, the way tocatli honor guard is worded, I don't think etherium sculptor would have triggered Jhoira since it is a creature coming into play which triggered an ability.
Not that it matters, but, you missed the Honor Guard there, Dockside wouldn't have made any treasures at all, it didn't matter in the end, but it's still worth it to point out such mistakes.
Spoiler: . . . . Just to be clear, Zack was paying zero for 1-mana despite the aura of silence because of the number of cost reducers he had in play, right? I lost track of how many there were, but there clearly had to be lol
mike plays second time with sisay. as a sisay plyer myself i would suggest to put jigantha into the 99. the cost of 3 can blow ur tempo and you can fetch it with sisays ability. cimpanion req blows ur card selection too. u need to tempo more and not rush into the najeela wincon.
Great question! This game was recorded a few months ago, before everything opened back up again. We are looking to play in person again here very soon.
Sisay is so strong, I don't understand why people don't put knife-strategy legendary in the deck. For example, I run Pramikon, Sky Rampartwhich would have saved Mike
The guy who drew like 6 cards in one shot won? Imagine that. Honestly after what filter did , feeding the fish like that to then just get countered I would have scooped . If you wanna just hand joira the win let us know before we start
That Turn 2 win attempt was a big mistake. I understand that you don‘t want a stax piece to come down before your attempt but not putting Jhoira on interaction with City of Brass open plus you feed her 5 extra cards is not a winning move imo
I know this is CEDH, but in playing all these expensive cards The Ur Dragon deck could have swept the floor with you. It's budget but a turn 4 double strike dragon would end things quicker. Running spot removal could be important since most of the stuff you guys do is counter. I've played against control and the mantra even if I lose is "make them have it: as cgb would say.
There’s feeding the fish, then there’s Folger’s “dump the entire box of fish food into the tank and hope the little thing doesn’t gorge itself to death” method…
You have no idea how satisfying it as to see his Ad Nau countered.
Odds are he already had the Counterspell but feeding him so many cards didn’t help

what 26 lands does to a man
I've had similar with a greedy hand, 3 turns later still no lands, then someone wheels. still no land.
I can just jiggle at "ryan plays winconless stax". Gotta love it.
