The host's personality is great, combined with the dude on the couch that is knowledgeable enough to give info on what's going on when the host is too busy with the stunts or tricks. Today is December 5th, 2023 Nearly 10 years later from this video (And run) and I still come back to watching this run by Monopoli because it was just that legendary.
There are a lot of new strats and speed runs for this game but honestly this is the only one I’ve ever wanted to watch. This is so entertaining, the commentary keeps pace but isn’t constant, the group has such a great vibe, and Mister Monopoly is such a good sport and very kind. I’ve seen some runs where there was no crowd engagement, the runner looked like he/she had no energy, and the commentators would over explain purely to fill the silence. This is a legendary run in my book. Edit: One year later and I’m still watching this run. LETS GO
I love a good challenge! Halo 2's Legendary mode was truly Legendary--the enemies were relentless and showed no mercy and laughed at your attempts to survive, no pun intended. I really hope Halo 5's campaign is as difficult as Halo 2 was.
lol, you people obviously didn't play halo reach on legendary, its even harder cuz that game has the most weapons, vehicles, and powerups. the elite ultra just one shot you and jackals shields are immune to ghosts and lazers and melee attacks. so yah

MisterMonopoli is an absolute brute at this game, the commentary and atmosphere is amazing and Halo II legendary is without a doubt the most brutally unforgiving game of the entire franchise, which makes for some really tense moments. Loving every second of this.
i’ve fallen asleep to this speed run every night for the past 2 years. i watch it in its entirety at least once a week. my 2nd favorite gdq run of all time. ill never grow tired of watching this.
Such simpler times, chillin on the couch and just enjoying video games, and that one guy at every event with the loud high pitched laugh who I absolutely love (guy on the right in the white hat)
Forget to mention in the description: Just wanted to let those of you that have been watching the AGDQ stream know, I balanced the audio and fixed some oddities that were present during the stream (high-pitched whine, etc), so hopefully this is a bit more friendly to those of you listening with Headphones!

The couch was sublime. Reed is a haloruns analyst legend. If only that total rando in the white hat didn't join the couch uninvited and give super annoying commentary.
I have to say one of the reasons that made Halo 2 so great was how broken it was. The Super Bounce, sword lunge from anywhere, button cancelations(BXR double shot) Oh and I agree Halo 2's legendary was brutal. Like Monopoli said in the vid the white elites are so OP that FYI they could tank 4 sniper shots and the 4th one has to be a head shot to kill otherwise you only knock off the shields. Also noob combo was MANDATORY to stand a chance.
This is a great run and everyone is wholesome and positive. Mono is fantastic, and I especially love Reed's commentary from the couch. I have to say though, it is pretty uncool to join the runners couch without being invited (the last person halfway through). Here it seems like an uninformed woman told this man it was okay (it's not). The couch is for friends of the runner who have invited to prepare explanations and provide entertaining commentary. This is not for someone who is just a fan to join in and get involved. Not a huge deal, but definitely frowned upon.
Awesome run! I come back to this a few times a year. Just ridiculiously entertaining and insightful. Great playing by Monopoli, and shout out to Reed for some great commentary.

Its funny that the Monopolized achievement was put out for a difficult challenge when honestly, this made it easier than the first time i played Halo 2 on Legendary. The first time i beat it I knew nothing of speedrunning or these skip tricks. I played through the whole game the intended way. Thanks to this achievement forcing me to use speedrunning tricks, i got to skip several challenging confrontations the second time around. Cheers, Monopolized!
1:21:37 the flood betrays the other one with a BR. Enemies do have friendly fire and the the weapon properties for the covenant are often similar to that of the player so weapons can overheat. Halo 2 is really cool.

Wow, I think I'll follow this video for some tricks on beating the game on legendary. Didn't know 99% of the tricks he used here. Will be nice skipping those damn jackal snipers.

I'm sure Monopoli, as well as some of us other Halo 2 runners will be doing some runs on H2A. Though, it will likely not be the version that is run competitively. H2A is likely to ship "as retired", meaning the title updates / patches that Halo 2 received during its lifetime will be built in, and swordflying (as it's used in these runs) was patched during these updates.
Itz MercY H2A will include the Title Updates/Patches that Halo 2 received during it's lifetime, including that which removed Swordflying as it's used in speedrunning. It's not entirely impossible that swordflying will exist (like 0.001% chance), but it'd be incredibly unlikely that they'd go out of their way to re-break a mechanic specifically in campaign after taking the time to fix it originally.

This campaign mode on legendary is the bomb, and like the runner and a commenter below both said those white elites are insanely overpowered. On Cairo Station one time I swear I spent probably close to 30 minutes trying to kill a couple of them left alone from a wave. Also, cool to see some Carbine usage on the elevator on The Arbiter (the level), it works wonders on the Flood if you can get a good aim

The library is one of my favorite levels. The buttons on the screen icon can be punched instead of shot, but that's obviously slower. Voice acting not terrible??? The VA in Halo 2 is legendary.

I love doing all of these out of map glitches and the scarab gun was a really fun one to do when i was younger.

The PAL trick allows you to sword lunge through glass is all.

The buttons on the screen icon can be punched instead of shot, but that's obviously slower.
