I once visited a german company building one of these large filling machines for pharmaceutical tablets. There was a single worker building one machine all alone. He worked on it for weeks and when everything was working fine, he flew with the machine to the foreign country were it was installed by him and handed over to the customer. I thought, what a wonderful job. He can be so proud of his work. Just to add, the company was situated in the german countryside, and he was living in a small village, where you would not expect such high quality jobs.

    Servus and hello Anna,
you and your channel are definitely a highlight on TH-cam. Now it's more than one thousand subscribers, but i guess it will be a lot more, because you totally deserve that.
After world war II we were the most hated country in world and now we again a country where a lot of people like to live. The economy is good, the health care system is really good and education is not that bad as well.
And with lovely students, workers and ambassadors like you we get a lot more.
    Thanks a lot 😊

I know that the Russians are jealous on the German Autobahn, they drive fast themselves, but sometimes with dire consequences. Russia is such a big country, it's a shame, they don't build highways, they would really need them

You know how many traffic jams the autobahn has because of construction..just to keep it intakt. Even germany cant fix it as fast as it breaks down. Now imagin a 10x bigger system in russia. Im quite sure that wont work out well =)
(And would cost waaay too much)

8:18' Kurzarbeit. Hi Russianvagabond... In order to implement this in America companies would have to be very rigid in their hiring process and keep a lot of cash in their bank accounts. So the whole job market would change and hiring people would also become very difficult as it is in Europe. I personally prefer the American system as it is more flexible. For example when you are leaving a company you can do it in a two week period

In German the term "salad" doesn't refer to plant ingredients. It refers to a prepared mixture of food. Green stuff is not required to be in it. It's salad, not lettuce.

Special to Germany ? Allways dislike your life and be unsatisfied with everything you own. But have enough optimism in the idea "I try to improve it". As soon as you are satisfied you stop improving.

  • @JakobFischer60

Why is potato salad weird? German noodle salad and sausage salad with and without cheese or blood sausage are also without greens. Same for fruit salad.

    • @holger_p

Compare with other languages, and what they consider to be a salad. Take spaghetti carbonara - eat it cold - and suddenly you call it a salad.

Liek you said because East had Russia and West Americans. Also, I wonder why none germans kinda ALWAYS go to Bavaria... there are so many Places to live. xD

You illustrate the situation of 30 years ago, und what you say applies only to the generation 60+. Bavaria is the picture postcard motive for Germany, the Bretzel, Lederhosen and Dirndl - Image; and this has been emphasized by american soldiers in south Germany in the last 70 years. Was Deutschland so besonders macht?
