Most characters from the same races get unique movesets. The main outliers are 2-handed-Link and the king and Revali and Teba, and even those aren't THAT similar
These guides are great for motivating me to come out of my comfort zone and play the characters that I know had potential but wasn't sure how to use them

Exact same for me. I hate the random element of his rock roast, and I'm pretty sure that up until now he's my least used non-DLC character. But now that I know more about his strengths and move viable moves, I'm definitely going to use him more.
I don't know if this is a DLC/update thing, but I just tried Yunobo (recently unlocked) and noticed that the game prompts you to press X when you reach the part of the combo that will benefit from the barrier you are using at the moment. So there's no need to memorize what barrier goes with what combo!
You didn't mention some things that can make this fighter really good. 1- You can cancel any attack or strong attack by using the unique action (ZR). If you time this correctly, you can change barriers mid combo without losing much time because the enemies will still be stunned by the combo. It's not a very important detail, but quite interesting. 2- This is just broken. Using the attack cancel technique I just mentioned in your enhanced C5 (YYYYX with orange barrier), just as yunobo lands on the ground, for some reason makes this attack melt weakpoint gauges in 1 hit, as well as draining a ton of health from enemies. I believe this is a glitch, but my god is it broken. 3- I'm not completely sure, but I believe his normal C6 also reveals weakpoint gauges. Nothing more to say that I can recall right now. Amazing guide as always! ❤
For his empowered C5 I find that for some weird reason cancelling the jump Yunobo does with his unique action does a lot more damage then letting the animation play out.
One thing I think you missed. Yunobo's C5 (fifth strong attack) is much more powerful when you doge cancel out of it just after landing on the ground and letting those rocks do damage by themselves. (Without Yunobo having to get in the air)
In addition, his Barrier Enhanced YYYYX (the fist move) comes with its own glitch where, if you press ZR to cancel it right before you land then it will, for some unexplained reason, do MASSIVE amounts of extra damage, and can obliterate even the final bosses weakpoint in one attack, while taking out a large chunk of HP at the same time. Not sure if it's patch.

Small tip. By using his red barrier with your flurry rush or with is regular aerial by using stasis when they reveal their weak point gauge, then dodging out of the animation in the air, you can do massive weak point damage, nearly doubling it in my experience.
Yunobo received a new strong attack 6 combo in dlc 2, now instead of being fired with the cannon it summons a giant rock that deals great damage when he uses the yellow Daruk shield without him falling some small rocks
If you're good at perfect dodging Yunobo can obliterate weak point gauges if you stock up on flurry rush damage seals and dodge while his spike ball protection barrier is out.
Stupid me thought his shields glowed randomly and the player had to be aware and use a strong attack whenever this happened His real gimmick makes so much sense and I see he is not as weak as I thought
You seem to have missed the huge C5 exploit which makes him the 2nd Strongest Character If you dodge Cancel C5 just when you are on ground (before the rocks sprout up) the WPG is entirely shredded and the move itself does as much damage as a WPG, sometimes even more. Therefore this move is a 2-in-1 WPS attack, from C5 Dodge Cancel and the Subsequent WPS enough to decimate Guardian and Talus with a SINGLE use, and even Lynel with 2.
I wouldn’t exactly call the bubbles that surround Yunobo “barriers”. Unlike the barrier Daruk has for guarding and certain strong attacks, Yunobo’s don’t actually have any attack blocking capabilities. They’re more like damaging auras than shields.
I was scared of playing yunobo, because daruk was very mild. I waited until I had him fully upgraded and when I played him he obliterated the poor Mobs. I am having a hard time saying which character is stronger than the others, gonna wait until I perfect my characters and their weapons and then make a judgement (although daruk will be down last to second last)
I have two questions, do the barriers make you invincible like daruk (that would make sense but also be op, don't even need to be blocking) and on the 3rd and 4th strong attacks, can't you just dodge out to make them as effective as the others, instead of just letting the attack go and wasting the weak point?
It's kind of funny that outside of Riju and Urbosa, all the champion "descendants" are stronger than their original counterparts, in-game at least lol. And it makes sense for Riju cause she's like 10-13 at most while the others are fully grown adults lol. Granted Riju is super good at *1 thing* but a good character that does not make, imo. She's got about 10 years to catch up to Urbosa lol.
That's actually a really unique observation. It makes sense that a 12 year old would only be good at one specific thing cause they still have things to learn
From the moment I got him and realized that every single one of his enhanced attacks could force out weak points, Yunobo became one of my absolute favorite characters. If there was ever a mission I was unsure about where I could bring him, I would. This includes that one particularly nasty mission I can recall where the game decides to throw....I believe it was seven malice guardians at you, as a time limit of sorts. Thanks to his exceptional power, I was able to slay each of them, which made the mission quite a bit easier. Also, one side note, his enhanced fourth strong attack has the additional effect of throwing a whirlwind ahead of him after the spin is complete (as seen in the footage). Can be handy if you're dealing with a clump of small-fry enemies and larger ones together.
So I learned that me and Yunobo don't mesh very well to be honest. His tells for his attacks and unique move require too much memory and thought to remember in the heat of battle. Its like, adding another complicated layer upon the attack strings you have to remember that are best suited for the battle. And my memory isn't that good in the first place- I actually find Lana w/h Summoning Gate easier to remember than Yunobo's attacks. I honestly think it was done better with the tells (only). With Lana, her gate (despite having more randomness) has better tells due to having the icon of what you have displayed near your health, and her tells show the same monster being used to show which strong attack you can amplify. I.E. You get King Dodongo, the first strong attack uses King Dodongo, and thus, it amplifies ONLY that one. Yunobo is all about memory. He does glow a flash of red or yellow, but its honestly really miss-able in the heat of battle. Since your normally looking at your opponent and your health in most cases. More power to you if you like using him, but he's always going to be my last pick for a fight in this game. I prefer Terrako, Kohga, or Mipha as my main by the way.

I found this trick out as well, it absolutely fucking shatters weak point gauges, like in one hit.

Yunobo’s C5 glitch is the most integral part of his move set, instantly putting him in the top 3, if not the absolute best in the game

I was honestly surprised at how much I liked him! In Botw, he was my least favorite new champion. He’s one of my go to peeps in AoC though.

His orange shield also serves as Daruk's protection. If you have it activated, it works as an unbreakable guard.

If u guard with a shield on it makes u invincible like daruk

Yunobo is Daruk’s mirror: Daruk is the best defensive warrior in the game, while yunobo is all about that offence
