  • Luxury brands are luxury brands for a reason. These companies often do produce quality products by some of the best fashion houses in the world. They also charge sometimes ridiculous amounts of money to own these products.
    Some of us out there can’t get enough of luxury brands and even go as far as renting them out to look expensive and classy. But some of these brands are simply not worth the effort and cost involved, especially if it’s keeping you from paying your rent. Here are the luxury brands you shouldn’t spend your hard earned money on.

    Bottom line: buy exactly what you want. Don't buy things just to prove how much money you have to strangers. Whether it's fifty cents or twenty thousand dollars, only buy something if it works for you and you love it.

    • @helloken
      @helloken 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@colin3674 @Gheorghe Its your money, I have no problem with you spending it the way you want and respect your opinion. My personal opinion is that while Versace is DECENT quality, they are still overpriced (I have 3 of their dress shirts and one of their dress pants before I decided they are not worth it FOR ME). Opinions differ, some brands offer better value than others, but at the end of the day, clothing can be made in some factory in Asia that is both decent quality and very affordable. But when you buy a brand, usually you at least know what you are getting if you are familiar with the brand. I think there is a place and market for brand name goods, however most people are conditioned into thinking these branded goods are far for valuable than they actually are by successful marketing. I would buy more Versace once in a while if they were a third the price. :)
      At the end of the day, these companies are out to make a profit, for 99% of them, that is their #1 goal. They find the best way to make their goods that produces a good result at the best cost, then mark it up to the right amount that it gives their brand credibility, exclusivity, desirability, brand perceived value, and maximize profitability over the long run. High prices give the illusion of quality and desirability as any marketing class will teach you. When you go to a store or ever a supermarket, and you see 2 products side by side, many people will often automatically think the more expensive item is better in some way.

    Coach makes long-lasting bags at a semi-reasonable price. I don't love a lot of their designs, but some are definitely cute. Overall they are a solid brand, and if your biggest issue with them is that their stuff is too accessible, then, well, that tells me everything I need to know about you.

    • @biilyblast64
      @biilyblast64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nobody will admit to not buying something cuz it was too accessible. It's more or so about trends. Stussy is another example. They started selling it inside Tilly's and pacsun in every mall. The brand eventually got a new creat. Director and took it out the store. And now you can only find it in select stores only. It becomes more of a rarity. It's a mental game. I wouldn't necessarily judge a person for that. Because it's not intentional.

      They are good quality and Nice designs.
      Another point to defend Michael Kors the bags you get in a TJ Max store arent the same you get in a regular Michael Kors Butique.
      They also have completley different designs for their outlet boutiques.
      There is also the truly exclusive Michael Kors Collection.
      People also cririzse Michael Kors for not being innovative but Everyone copies at the end.
      Everyone copied Louis Vuiton's bag with The monogram in All the bag.

      @@DavidWinters714 I disagree. Many of these luxury brands give you 2x the quality for 50x the price. Often, the higher price will give the illusion of quality. I personally have noticed this in both dress shirts and dress shoes for men. Stick to reasonably priced goods unless the product you want is not for the quality, but so that other people can see that you have an exclusive luxury good. This is often futile for men because nobody can tell that what you are wearing is from a luxury brand because its often not advertised anywhere.
      I find it is especially true in Asia that women want others to know their status (some women, anyway) by the logo on their bag, shoes, or car. I've dated a Chinese girl that prefers luxury cars because it matches her status (she was fairly wealthy).
      Anyway, as much as the luxury designers would want you to think their products are worth it, the plain reality is that many people only perceive it that way because their marketing somehow, some way, reached your brain and made you perceive their brand as exclusive, high quality, or just simply desirable, even with, or especially because of, the high price tag.
      Buy normal, reasonably priced things if you possibly can. My advice to all but the very wealthy.
