I understand her points. Though most of the things she listed are my everyday wear....I'm not offended because I'm not trying to be elegant everyday. This is an amazing video. I dont understand the negativity.
True elegance comes from within. It’s politeness, kindness, compassion, respectfulness, clear communication, being able to maintain your composure despite the situation at hand, poise and taking care of your self. You do not need high end clothing, makeup or accessories in order to achieve this. Ladies, inner beauty never fades. It’s radiant! Be authentic. Know your self worth. Live within your means. There are women living well beyond their means in order to live a high society lifestyle. You can achieve an elegant look without going beyond your means.
Completely agree! I also do not believe that anyone should present themselves as the holy grail or something to aspire too. That comes off as elitist to me. What exactly makes someone an authority on "elegance"?
@@sabihanahla9841 and i've seen cheap elegant dresses too. Elegance is not about expending more money, is not even entirely about what you wear, but mostly how to wear it.
@@nessyness5447 There's a difference between cheap meaning inexpensive, and cheap meaning tacky, lower class and deserving of contempt. I think that's actually what she was refering to.
@@nessyness5447 I agree with you 100%. The comment you responded to seemed to be talking about that kind of cheap. And you seemed to be talking about inexpensive cheap. I was just trying to clear that confusion. I didn't like that she used that kind of "cheap" as the opposite to elegant.
@@Jamjar-iu3ji Chanel's Karl Largerfeld, said "If you're Cheap, nothing helps....." Cheap is an ingrained attitude, and a spiritual flaw.... Not the "Miley Cyrus" cheap, which is actually vulgarity, or perfectly nice, albeit inexpensive, clothing; it is a personality-driven, infection of the soul..... (e.g.) I had a very wealthy client, who displayed (literally) all the accouterments of showy vast resources.... She was loathed, by business associates and service professionls, for her smug condescension, controlling manners, and snobbish demeanor; all of which are polar opposites, of Elegance..... Impossible to please, never tipped the wait staff, a single dime, and had such terribly high standards-----for everyone, however---not herself...... Most importantly, an interested listener... She conducted herself, as a "Lady," and treated everyone else as a "Lady, or Gentleman," as well.... An army of people showed up, for this lovely lady's funeral.... And, it was not a sad gathering; everyone had a sweet story to tell, "about the time, she........" True elegance and class starts with empathy and kind heartedness....the one person who perfectly exemplified this was Princess Diana Class and elegance is an attitude
@Carla, absolutely and she would have been SO proud of her Princess Kate. They seemed to be cut from the same cloth. It's hard to describe...serene, beautiful, neat and simple style.
For all the people complaining: She is not “judging” people. She is just teaching what u should not wear if u want to look classy and elegant, which is a style she clearly knows about.
Thank you for your video. I'm a 75 year old woman and what I am hearing is what my mother use to tell me how to dress. She was a young woman in the 1940s and until the day she died she always wanted to look presentable. I was truly blessed to have her insight. Love your channel and now have subscribed. ❤
@@VelveteenRabbit77 ya, I'm not sure I'm an elegant lady. More like a cowgirl... lol but it's good information to know incase I want to come out the boots
I can see why everyone is kinda telling her off, but she's honest kinda right on some of this stuff. Elegant woman are more modest and crop tops, booty shorts, and cartoon t-shirts really aren't elegant. I think its okay to still wear whatever you want when you're home though because you're not around anyone and you can be comfortable. Leggings is a big thing too and if you want to wear them ya whatever I wear them too but most modest women really don't wear them and if they do they cover their butt. You can still be modest and elegant without wearing old lady looking clothes too you just have to kinda have to shop around and being elegant doesn't mean you have to buy the most expensive clothes. Everyone's style is different and if you don't agree with her I understand what everyone is saying and fashion is a little different nowadays but she is right on some stuff about elegance and modesty
100%! It is all about the context. Also, what you wear in your early 20s and what you wear in your 30s - are completely different things. Add a formal occasion to the story...and voilà!
I came to this video for tips on how to dress on days that I WANT TO LOOK elegant. No one said we had to be elegant every day. I’m shocked by all the negative comments. Take what u can from the information provided✨
I totally agree 👍. Women today are dressing so carelessly and unaware of their appearance. They are NOT ladies, they are Women. Big difference!! Everywhere you go Women dress so cheap and tacky; it doesn't take a lot of money to make the right choices to look put together and attractive! Females all look alike, wearing the same boring, drab clothes: leggings and a tee shirt. She is the epitome of class, elegant and refined!! Gorgeous ⚘️✌️⚘️.
My mother quite often wore t-shirts in rich, vibrant colors with dress slacks, accessorized with jewelry or a scarf. She was an incredibly elegant lady -tall, slim, beautiful. She looked incredibly "put together" and elegant.
Wow! I love this and so agree. Elegance is not about hair or makeup, but character, the content of a person’s words, thoughts, values etc. Looking great is so important too tho!
@@PumpkinPixie1978 if she had them, she would've worn them, it's the video chick who wouldn't, I dont remember her name, as I prefer to forget my nightmares!!
Anna, will you please do a video on proper casual attire? Comfortable, classy clothing that you can wear to grab a coffee with friends, go to a doctor's appointment, or go shopping with your kids. I feel like I'm lacking in knowledge in this area! 😘
All of you taking offense don’t understand that this lady is an etiquette/ affluence teacher. These lessons are not for you! She said don’t listen to her if you don’t agree. Is that so hard?
@Ella Akehurst you make the best point! I knew a young girl whose boyfriend died in a car crash. She was still in high school. She was extremely upset for a very long time. Some months later, her friend stated that someone ( I don't honestly remember who), had died and it was the worst thing she had ever experienced. My idea about this is that both experienced a great loss to them. But the first girl shamed the second girl on social media. For the second girl, this WAS the worst loss in her life. For the first girl, her boyfriend's death was HER worst loss. Everyone has different experiences in life. It is a battle. I have health issues that prevent me from enjoying life as I did before. We should not judge another person, but always put ourselves in their shoes. How would I feel if I had a stroke? This would be much harder to deal with than my present illness. This way of thinking puts things in perspective and allows us to be more empathetic to the human condition. God bless you on your journey.💓
@Ella Akehurst I also noticed that you stated that everyone's opinion is fine with you, and went on to explain YOUR own view. Folks, why should we have a problem with this. She said that your opinion is fine, and stated her opinion. Elegance does not judge harshly.💓
Mainly because some people wear these clothes & like them - and she's been slightly caustic about the clothes, (at least I think it's just, the clothes and not the people wearing them) People are bound to take remarks like "please! I'm bleeding from the eyeballs" personally. Women start to see veiled insults in what other people are saying. All entertaining for people-watchers
Best fashion advise I ever got was from my brother. He pointed to a bandage dress on a mannequin and said “every guy would love to see you in that dress, but they would never respect you.” I took that to heart. Great brother!
Ewe. Your brother sounds gross thinking that he should respect women or not based on what they are wearing. Sorry to tell you, but your brother sounds like a misogynist
I love the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *hotdups* bag. Made from high quality legal snakeskin made by local Indonesian artists. From now on I never want to buy any luxury goods.
An elegant woman for me is one who takes care of herself. Like brushing her hair, ironing her clothes and looks put together. I do not think that elegance means having one type of style, or having to look like a grandma. It's mostly how you carry yourself, how you talk and how you treat other people.
Tottaly agree with you! It's not about the style of clothes it's about how you care yourself and set the clothes, or maybe what sigh send to Others! ❤️
She said she was making this video for those who want the information. She also says an elegant lady must be nice to the core and non judgemental. She's not judging those who dress that way. But she wants to help people who want to know how to dress traditionally elegantly how to do so.
I think she wants people to put some effort into looking like you are intelligent, deserve respect because you look respectful, enjoy looking beautiful. You can be comfortable and wear good fitting clothes. Do I follow her advice myself? No, most of the time I am working with my dogs, working in the yard and taking care of the property. But if I want to go downtown her advice is spot on.
MsSisi9898 i think it’s slightly pretentious and it has nothing to do with insecurity. i can think someone is being pretentious without being insecure. i think you’re projecting... this entire video is created for high society so it’s safe to say it’s a little pretentious. not enough to call her on it (imo) but enough to say it’s there if you ask.
And yet being predictive on motives of why people do what they do and unnecessarily filling in with her own narrative doesn’t really deliver that exact message. If a person knows how to communicate they don’t need disclaimers and white knights on horses such as yourself to teach us how to read between lines. We all know the mean girl trope. She knows it too. She can select better ways to communicate what you think is being said but yet she didn’t.
Elegance for me is just people who are clean. They smell clean and look clean. And when you look clean, generally you clothes are well maintained (no wrinkles, stains etc), your hair is neat and well kept regardless of texture, and your body/skin appears neat. Nothing on them overly stands out, you see them as an entire person. Most importantly their aura shines. Something about them is light, friendly and positive.
Amen! I've met some beautiful fashionable women who have no integrity and operate on a low vibration. Fashion can cover up insecurities, class comes from within.
she’s not saying this is how you must dress, she’s just suggesting how you should dress if you wish to present yourself elegantly no matter the occasion
Only difference she doesn't know what elegant fashion is. That butterfly dress was as ladylike as it gets. Shorts are definitely not. They are screaming the opposite of "ladylike, elegant or classy". Though I agree with ditching the horrible blue shades.
@@eduardasartorio8932 but she stresses her pov of elegant is dictionary definition of elegant. And no it's not. Shorts are never elegant. If someone wrote elegant in dresscode no Idiot will wear shorts there. It's so unacceptable.
I don't like how she doesn't give an answer to her disagreements. "Instead of wearing yoga pants to the airport wear ______ ." Don't just bash on the clothing. Give a solution to try. Otherwise it's not helpful LOL
She's just judgemental. She hates alternative people, or really anyone who isn't a clone of her and she really REALLY doesn't like happieness. That's why.
Elegance is a state of clothing, of mind, and ladylikeness! She made clear at the beginning that this episode was for that genre. Don’t be upset with her or put her down for her own opinion. It is very nice. I’m myself a tee shirt, denim shorts kind of gal but appreciate the differences. Don’t care if I look expensive or not. Keep my skin covered, feel comfortable, know I look nice, this is my bag, not hers, although I agree with her on shabby handbags!!
@Lumani LuLu totaly agree! Its truly ridiculous when people call themselves elegant while wearing so called recent trends like booty shorts and ripped cropped clothing.
😂 Yes, these standards are set around a certain demographic of elegant ladies. She’s accurate, though. The millionaire women I know who fit her target audience, and are married to millionaires dress like this.
I fail to understand why the women in the comments are calling her judgemental yet are on a channel called School of AFFLUENCE! She's right on everything! Especially Bandage dresses, they ARE revealing and only attract low calibre men or men who's mission with you are unsavoury. Loved the video Anna❤️❤️❤️,haters and the delusional can watch something else.
I agree 🥰 these are standards. Some aren't going to register. That's ok with with me, makes it easier for the cream to rise! Keep up our chic. It speaks volumes Ladies 🗼
Honestly, I like bandage dresses, tbh I don't think so that you have to wear this or that to look elegent, elegance can be in your manners too. She isn't being judgemental but it seems like that, people who wears those dresses or outfits feels like she is looking down on them. Tbh it's her opinion and ig she should have said that it's her opinion and she isn't judging anyone.
What if you wear bandage dresses because you like the way you look in them and not because you're dressing for a man? 🤷🏾 Some men like women that dress in fashion and they were in fashion at one point.
@@MaryLou913 exactly! Perverts get attracted no matter what you wear tbh. I personally love bangde dresses, idc how people look at me or what they say, I dress up for myself and it's okay if you don't like bandage dresses but how can you call it 'cheap'? It's offensive to the women who likes it and wears it. We can simply dress however we want and everyone has different tastes, you cannot force your opinions on people and it could simply be a 'guide to elegant fashion' she could show what is elegent dresses or outfits are like instead of showing what you should wear or not. Tbh I think elegance and class are something that should be within us and not only in what we wear.
Anna’s style is exactly like mine. I don’t like Insta baddie outfits. I don’t mind other women dressing like that, I just won’t wear those outfits myself :)
It’s a personal choice, but I am like Anna as well. I have a style that I am comfortable with and I may add some inexpensive trendy pieces to add, but I stick with my basics. I learned that lesson early. Trends come and go, you don’t need all of them, but choose a few that you can add and that are inexpensive. Spend your money on items good quality clothing and alter, alter, alter!!
It IS possible to be respectful and let others still feel good about themselves and their styles when doing videos like this. But she is not. Otherwise there wouldn't be a 2:1 up-/downvote ratio. You know, there's always a reason behind downvotes. Maybe you don't want to see that because she's clearly not attacking people like you here...
Same. It's boring seeing girls wear the same things (crop top, leggings, messy bun). It's refreshing to see a girl wear something not very common like a modest dress.
With respect to t-shirts. No long ago I was watching a video on French dressing style. What do French women wear and stay nice and elegant? A pair of good quality jeans and a t-shirt and perhaps a blazer on top. Yes, that's a casual style which I would totally embrace. There's nothing wrong with it. You can't wear elegant clothes all the time. It would be totally weird to walk to the supermarket wearing anything other than t-shirts, sweaters, jumpers. Same for a casual coffee meeting. It's all about context. Unfortunately I feel that I'd waste my time watching beyond this point. However, ladies, don't forget that class, confidence and elegance come from within. 😃
The thing is that (and I say that as a French), I think the French style values a very high quality cotton tee shirt, perfectly ironed and paired with elegant pants, nice jewellery, hair and light makeup and good quality shoes. It can be very elevated (thinking Audrey Hepburn or Brigitte Bardot casual, not trashy)
Agree. I would rather spend more money on classic and timeless than less money on clothes that will go out of style AND have such a negative toll on the environment and human labour.
A N just because things go out of style doesn’t mean you can’t wear them. I understand you will lost interest when the trend ends, but people have their own fashion and still wear old trends because it looks good on them
Traveling in yoga pants and workout clothes feel comfy in stressful times. Sometimes putting on something comfy can make stressful tasks a little more bearable.
I'm officially not elegant. I wear half of these and I love it. Then again, not trying to snag rich men. No discrimination. I still enjoyed scrolling through..
The ONLY reason I watched this is to learn how to snag a rich man. Bahahaha!!! They’re all crappy anyway (in my experience so far) so May as well have a rich crappy one, at least you’ll get what you want, need and then some. I guess I just give up on finding a good man. So I just need a rich one. It’s hard to get rich being a single mother with minimal help. 🤷🏻♀️
My sentiment exactly. All those no nos are my staple wardrobe & already hv my rich man. But....I’m now 50 & kinda have to learn to look more grown up...
I don't think those dressing tips are to snag a rich man. I guess they are for when you already have a rich man, because job, school and extreme weather, not to mention kids and house shores... Now that I think about it, I can't be a lady. I basically wear what I can. I agree with almost every tip she said, though. I just don't have the time and money to look like a lady. And my rich guy went away with a young girl that wears all those no nos and worst!
I don't wear them because I don't like them, but I disagree about the t shirts. Jackie Kennedy would wear them with capri pants and jean's and she always looked fabulous. Needless to say she was the epitome of elegance!
I am with Anna - sharply pressed clothing elevates. My friends laugh at my ironing fetish yet ladies always ask what brands I'm wearing when I'm a budget girl who just understands presentation is 75% of style :)
Why did it take me so long to find a honest classy lady like you ........thanks for teaching us ..... I know your words are for only a small group of women ...
Yes, but men can't see what's within you until they interact with you. Many Young women need to understand the mating game a whole lot better than they do. They may think they know it all, but they don't.
I am a man that works with very high net worth client couples. I am constantly looking for ways to understand my lady clients in all ways. Besides being elegant they are all very gracious. I love what they bring to the table in look, mindset, and point of view. Thanks for these great videos.
That is right, but it's easier to carry yourself in a classy way if you are elegantly dressed. It is not enough but necessary, that's how it goes, first we've being judged on appearance
@@msm4478 Of course, I have. Haven't you heard an expression: "YOU WILL NEVER GET AN SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST IMPRESSION"? Please note that in my comment I've written FIRST we've being judged on appearance. That's why there are many advices are being given how to dress for the job interview. Or even more importantly, how not to. Because yes, no matter what you or me personally think, people do make their first judgement on appearances, because the appearance influences first impression the most. Personally I think that most people, when they look well and dress elegantly (or at least think so), they would feel good and more confident, and that would help them to carry themselves in a classy way. Back to the beginning of this discussion.
Honestly, Anna Bey is like my mom when she gives out suggestions on what to wear and what NOT to wear. When I was younger, I used to dislike her fashion suggestions because I thought they were too conservative and rigid. But one time, we were at a hotel and I saw an aged beauty queen (she's the same age as my mother), and to my surprise she styles herself just like my mom. The vibe and the aura were the same! Highly elegant! Now that I'm a bit older, I seek these kinds and pieces of advice. This kind of style is truly timeless. Thank you, Anna for sharing these tips to us!
You are taking the word elegance to a different level; and yes I meant of simplicity; modesty; cleanliness; chic; and yes living with order and self confidence! Just because Rihanna wore it; you don’t have to wear it! Thank you for teaching us; to be ourselves 🙏
@@sososesar5154 that's what I thought! The first thing I'd do would have been cutting my hair with awful bangs, completely rainbow colored and only wearing ripped everything, hippie style and shoes from the garbage lol
This was the first video made by Anna I ever saw. I was annoyed initially and decided to hate watch some of her content. I was however surprised as to how much I enjoy her videos. Her views on femininity and gender roles are not something all would agree upon, however some of her videos are really helpful if you want to refine some of your characteristics. This video is not a good example of her entire content. These are her opinions on elegance, you are free to disagree. However, I urge you to give Anna a chance.
Yes I agree, her videos helps you to be a refine lady so it's your choice if you want to be feminine or elegant lady enough or just be you. She is so straightforward but i believed she says things according to what she have learned from school , School of Affluent meaning its not all about her opinion but base from study.
This is the best comment i can agree on. Totally true 👍. At first , my ego was out of place and got angry .😂. But i'd be stupid to judge a lady just by a video. So i watched more of her videos. And damn , her recent video showed how women have the freedom to wear anything in an elegant way. How we can bring elegance in our different fashion style. Some things are hard for me to miss like shorts. But now i know which shorts to wear to make me look more refined n polished lady. Also my fashion style is not royal like Anna Bey so i skip on some points. I have curated my wardrobe based on my style & her tips .
@@cath3077 because she's acting like her style is only appropriate. I'm gonna dress how I feel and express myself the way I want to. You can see, she's onto rich men, that's why she wants and forces herself to be elegant. She doesn't respect other styles and sounds pathetic.
outer space well I mean, if you wanna dress a certain way good, but the video is specifically for ppl who want to dress more elegantly. I don’t recall her being disrespectful to other styles, simply saying what’s elegant and what’s not, and for the most part she is right, the whole Instagram baddie thing does not look sophisticated. It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with it. She’s only mentioning what is not appropriate if you want to have that style, Also, assuming she forces herself on it is pretty rude, some people just like to look that way for themselves. If you want to dress how you feel and express yourself however you want I support it but then why are you watching her video?
I just want to say I love how unapologetic you are in your opinion. It's a breath of fresh air to hear advice that isn't holding back. I love you're advice even if I don't agree with all of it and now I'm subscribed!
What I find strange are the people getting upset about a video on dressing elegantly when they aren't interested in dressing elegantly anyways. It comes off as insecure.
Or they disagree with her opinions on what elegance is, or with her attitude. I'm one of those people, I disagree with her. I strive to be elegant, but not her version of elegant. Now I haven't left a comment on it, but it's perfectly fine to criticise or discuss the topic, her opinions or her attitude if you have something to say or discuss. Commenting is not only for those who agree wholeheartedly with her and who has nothing thoughtprovoking to say. Some might seem angry or upset in the comments, and that's because they are. I'm sure you'll understand why if you read the longer more in depth comments on the subject.
I regular fly long distance flights (15 hrs) and so far I found yoga pants the most comfortable. I wonder what other options are most comfortable in her opinions
You came not to tell us what we want to hear but what we NEED TO HEAR! Thank you for another video Anna 🌸 You’re transforming our minds to become the classy ladies we truly are 🌹
I got to grunge not beng cool... OK, I think I've had enough...Not my cup of tea. How anyone could hate grunge times? Especially if being a teenager in times of Cobain etc.??? Yes, maybe she knows a thing or two about "classical elegance". But knowing classical elegance desn't mean one has to to be all about being conservative at all times and not knwoing how to flirt with other styles. Funny thing though that women who think this way follow fshion made by artists who tend to break all the rules and mix everything with anything.
I feel like being elegant is more an attitude than just clothes but it’s just my opinion you know... You can totally be elegant with just a white t-shirt and jeans
Melyas deff yes but most of these folks live day to day in very high class society visiting high class places and in those there are RULES and DRESSCODES u have to follow regardless, that what she is teaching
I think she was focusing more on an elegant style rather than elegance over all in this video. There are just different styles that all fall under different labels. She was just giving tips for those who want to follow this certain style, and yes, she might have been a little hard on certain things. But if something does not fall under the category of elegant, it does not mean that is is bad (even though she clearly doesn’t like that 😂), it’s just a different style. But when it comes to elegance over all I totally agree with you! 😊💜 (Also the white T-shirt and jeans look is great, definitely elegant I think!)
@S.Laila D Except no one is saying people are not judged by how they look. The point actually is, this idea that women are supposed to meet some arbitrary standard set by some misguided folk is neanderthal thinking. Simple as that.
I love your videos anyone that gets offended by your advices is not elegant and don’t belong here anyway. Thanks so much Anna Bey I’m in my 40s I’ve been watching your videos for a year now and I love how I’ve changed my look even when I go to bed and feel great about it. Love love love it beautiful lady 💃🏼
The way you dress is the way people so your personality, so if you want more respect and to be seen as an elegant that's the way you need to be dressed. and ladies dress elegantly or at least modestly. Nonladies are the ones that want sexual attention by dressing like that.
Actually, balance should be the goal. •Elegance doesn't have to be uptight. •Dressing for comfort doesn't need to look lazy like you don't care. •Dressing sexy doesn't have to be trashy. Too many people pick one style and use it for every occasion. Then ignore, turn away from or put down other styles and modes of dressing. Life is too short to ignore or refuse to be open to the options. Finding a balance can be fun and makes it your own style. I think this video does have some good tips. But the lady in it could use some more balance.
There are only 2 things I don’t agree with here: 1) no cartoon/ animal pictures on your clothes, not even pajamas?! I think I deserve to be “childish” in the comfort of my own bed. 2) No t-shirts, even at home? In my country’s hot weather, that is the only thing I wear at home! I guess I don’t have an elegant soul. 😂
I have a beautiful periwinkle blue Kristin Blake tailored jacket and I was so surprised to get so many compliments on it when wear it. People are drawn to pretty colors
@@Sophesi Periwinkle is a color that serves almost anyone beautifully. That’s why I LOVE that color, or, any color VERY close to it. It is my personal favorite! 💙💜
I’ve spent pieces of my life working in sports bars where we can always wear jeans and some type of sports t-shirt. everyone always asks me why I’ve been “dressed up”. I get nicely fitted shirts (or cut / tie them), nice jeans that flatter my body, and always have my hair done (even though it’s in a pony tail) and makeup nice. I always get better tips too. And I feel better which shows. It makes a difference!
LoL. I have that look on my face a lot. People's clothes say a lot about them. I try to look elegant as I can. You never know who you will meet and network with.
Really? How do you make a t-shirt look elegant at a charity dinner? How do you make a dress you bought at Walmart look elegant at a restaurant with $250 entrees? How do you make see-through swimwear look elegant at a high-society beach party? How do you make yoga pants look elegant at the country club? Unfortunately, elegance is a LOOK as much as it is a set of mannerisms. Instagram makeup is NOT elegant. Clothes that are basically bodypaint are NOT elegant. A sweatsuit is NOT elegant. 3-inch nails are NOT elegant. Bootyshorts are NOT elegant. There is a CODE to elegance just like there is a code to etiquette. You can’t just “do you” and expect others to read you as elegant. These things signal that you are part of, or can be part of, high society. The reality is that you CANNOT wear whatever you want and then just “carry yourself” elegantly and actually FIT IN within elegant society.
Oh and also sophistication and elegance should be inside too and in the way one expresses oneself and moves. it's not all about looks. perfect example Audrey Hepburn.
I agree! I just said something similar! Class is within you not on what you wear. You can be poor and be classier than any affluent woman! It shows in your mannerisms! This woman is obviously spoiled and doesn't understand that most women can't afford her wardrobe based on what she deems classy.
@spooky katt again it's not about what you wear or how much money you have, it's about the ability to pull off wearing anything and making it look good, including sweatpants, but not everyone can do that. :)
Too funny! 😂😂😂😂 My philosophy remains 'Lady in the streets, but never a lady between the sheets!' Lol Yeah I know it goes a little different than that...but we get it. 😉
Maria Al-Masani I don’t like the torn jeans look on anyone, I don’t care who it is, they make my skin crawl thinking about the way those individual strips of fabric feel against skin.😱 I’m not quite sure what you’re referring to as a casual vs. formal society as most in today’s time seem quite lax as a whole. There may be pockets of formal but even referring to the “royals” I wouldn’t say all of their ensembles are anything to write home about, regardless of their cost. Sometimes the lot of them have looked downright frumpy and ill-fitted...especially when it comes to all of those ruffles billowing about in the breeze. Please don’t get me started on those ridiculous “fascinator” hats. 😄 The “royal” men look mostly sloppy to me because they’re out of shape with guts. Perhaps they require girdles as well as some of the females? 😄
This is true. She also never traveled in jeans, nor went to the publishing house in jeans. Jackie O most assuredly was dressed appropriately for the occasion at hand.
Oh, finally Here the right comment i was looking for. T-Shirt is a big No no? I dont get it. Somehow It’s not all about what clothes someone wears, but who wore it! It’s about Who’s inside the clothes and not what about what you put on. I guess that’s being a lady, it’s a person inside. I could see someone so beautiful and Chic in t-shirt. What makes classy is the one Who wore it, our persona. Thank you for mentioning Jackie O. 😊 And ps, it’s not cartoon. It is Disney! What is not Classic and classy about the older Disney story and character. Again, it is not about how it appears only (childish, a mouse or animal Who can speak), but the story beneath it, the value held in it. 😊 Disney is classy and classical. ❤️. Period. Just please do not generalize all tees and animal looks are not appropriate for classy or elegant appearance. It's funny how everyone is using feminism to attack and bash her, So its okay to attack a woman because she thinks different than you? Not a very feminist behavior if you ask me, kinda hypocritical feminism
Just because you’re a feminist doesn’t mean you have to agree with EVERYTHING women say or do, especially when her tendencies go against feminist beliefts

Though elegance is important, I absolutely agree with your comment.
Completely agree! I also do not believe that anyone should present themselves as the holy grail or something to aspire too. That comes off as elitist to me. What exactly makes someone an authority on "elegance"?

Chanel's Karl Largerfeld, said "If you're Cheap, nothing helps....."
Cheap is an ingrained attitude, and a spiritual flaw....
Contrast that presentation, with another (absolutely filthy-rich) client, in her late 70s.... Genuinely warm, authentically sincere, charmingly appreciative, and universally kind.... Clean, neat, wearing tiny jewelry, while always dressed in Ralph Lauren (green label) "barn" clothes, and beaten-up old ballet flats..... At the entrance door of a swanky establishment, or business meeting, she looked like someone's nice Grandmother, visiting from "The Sticks...." Yet, people literally fell over themselves to serve, assist, and just chat, with this true lady...... She made time, for you.... A (subtle, very quiet) huge tipper, very "aware of people," gave secret "just because" presents, to her laundress, the doormen, delivery drivers, the janitor, and just about anyone who crossed her path, who needed a bit of quality time, and acknowledgement of their efforts... Most importantly, an interested listener... She conducted herself, as a "Lady," and treated everyone else as a "Lady, or Gentleman," as well....
An army of people showed up, for this lovely lady's funeral.... And, it was not a sad gathering; everyone had a sweet story to tell, "about the time, she........"
Cheap can define "first impression" careless appearances, but the moment one opens one's mouth, their true character is established..... (Cheap, or "Worth Knowing...") People evaluate quickly, by sight.... However, it is by the hearing, they know just exactly "who" you are.......
True elegance and class starts with empathy and kind heartedness....the one person who perfectly exemplified this was Princess Diana
Class and elegance is an attitude
There was also Audry Hepburn, a woman of deep wisdom, love and elegance inside and out.

But what about when your partner respects and loves you, but also loves to see you in a bondage dress? Will he lose his respect because you look sexy?

An elegant woman for me is one who takes care of herself. Like brushing her hair, ironing her clothes and looks put together. And yet being predictive on motives of why people do what they do and unnecessarily filling in with her own narrative doesn’t really deliver that exact message.
You actually can. It takes zero percent more effort to put on a nice outfit than workout gear
Then the french are declining
The thing is that (and I say that as a French), I think the French style values a very high quality cotton tee shirt, perfectly ironed and paired with elegant pants, nice jewellery, hair and light makeup and good quality shoes. It can be very elevated (thinking Audrey Hepburn or Brigitte Bardot casual, not trashy)
I think a plain T-shirt it’s fine, but once you put prints on, it makes you look a little childish. That might be what she was trying to say.!

Same and who says ritch man likes just classy things cmon everyone has his own taste
Why does being elegant have to be for a man? And why does elegant mean rich? 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

It depends on the t shirt and the style. The 90's style is not particularly classy.
Yes a well made t shirt and well fitting is not only appropriate in warm weather but looks very classy as well, particularly with a nice necklace.
Really you are going with Jaqueline kennedy as an icon of elegance, please! Not even 👎

Ladies a lot of being classy isn't what you're wearing it's how you carry yourself, this is in my opinion, #1...
That is right, but it's easier to carry yourself in a classy way if you are elegantly dressed. It is not enough but necessary, that's how it goes, first we've being judged on appearance
Marina Alexander So you haven't heard the saying "Dont judge a book by its cover?"

But I love crop tops and jeans...and printed Ts... 😬😬😬 I love her channel though...
You are taking the word elegance to a different level; and yes I meant of simplicity; modesty; cleanliness; chic; and yes living with order and self confidence! Just because Rihanna wore it; you don’t have to wear it! Thank you for teaching us; to be ourselves 🙏

We’ll see
Yes I agree, her videos helps you to be a refine lady so it's your choice if you want to be feminine or elegant lady enough or just be you.
“Hate watch”😂

Everyone hopes to dress and appear elegant but equally important to be genuine , authentic , well mannered , considerate and kind .
What I find strange are the people getting upset about a video on dressing elegantly when they aren't interested in dressing elegantly anyways. It comes off as insecure.
Yesss
They feel personally attacked. I don't. But some people also make this mistakes but they take it in a good manner.
People don’t judge her style people judge the way she expresses her superiority complex.

Doubt it
Elegance is intelligence, being well spoken and educated. It's no good dressing as such if there is no substance to it!

@S.Laila D Except no one is saying people are not judged by how they look. The point actually is, this idea that women are supposed to meet some arbitrary standard set by some misguided folk is neanderthal thinking. Simple as that.

Elegance should not only be in what a LADY should wear but should reflect in her bahavior. As a man, that's my opinion
yeah, but she is talking about clothes specifically.
The way you dress is the way people so your personality, so if you want more respect and to be seen as an elegant that's the way you need to be dressed. and ladies dress elegantly or at least modestly. Nonladies are the ones that want sexual attention by dressing like that.

Life is to short to be elegant and uptight all the time.
@@LoveHappinessShineOn I like these words.. balance must be there for a full filling life ..

Deborah H the fact that if you are not following her advice you are not elegant and the comments about high society bs.

Can't lie, being elegant cost alot of money and effort😂
Isn't true in Marshall, Burlington, Ross is really good clothing a very accessible price❤
You can buy good clothes second hand! You don't need to buy expensive clothes to be elegant, it's *how* you put the clothes together
You can buy used clothes good quality and very cheap
Packaging is a big part of the cost of an item.
The money part bothers me, the effort part I can do
I think an elegant lady is the one who makes every piece she wears elegant, not the one who chooses her clothes to be elegant🤗😁
So true! It's how you carry yourself. I've seen women look elegant in sweatpants lol
Finally a comment I can agree with! 🙌🏼
OK try being elegant in hoodie and ripped jeans!
Exactly! It’s how you wear it and quite honestly if you’re put together and look clean and decent I think you’re elegant 😍
I’m watching Anna Bey videos from 3-4 years ago and they’re still on point. Timeless advice
@spooky katt I thought they usually wore dresses back in the 50's or 60's or whatever. I don't think casual wear was much of a trend back then..?
@spooky katt again it's not about what you wear or how much money you have, it's about the ability to pull off wearing anything and making it look good, including sweatpants, but not everyone can do that. :)
@spooky katt also I think you meant "sloppy", slobby is not an English word

I don’t like the torn jeans look on anyone, I don’t care who it is, they make my skin crawl thinking about the way those individual strips of fabric feel against skin.😱
I’m not quite sure what you’re referring to as a casual vs. formal society as most in today’s time seem quite lax as a whole. 😄
The “royal” men look mostly sloppy to me because they’re out of shape with guts. Perhaps they require girdles as well as some of the females? 😄
Plus Princess Diana
And ps, it’s not cartoon.
Can not deny when “casual is a new elegance”, when a proper lady wore it in a perfect elegancy and right moment.
Thank you for mentioning that the brand and the price doesn't make the clothes classy and elegant.
