By greenlighting the car he saw what that cars potential would be for his own legacy and it was kind by having the balls to commit to making this car he earned his seat at the table rather then just being the son of the guy who build everything.

This is actually a really beautiful part of this movie. He’s crying because he wishes his father could have seen just how much cars had evolved and how it was basically a rocket on wheels. How proud he would have been of the accomplishments his son was able to achieve with Shelby and it’s why he says keep going. That it was worth it just because he remembered that his father started out as an engineer too and that was just as important as producing a lot of cars.

Lol, this made me cross the movie off my list.not historical while the acting itself was unconvincing at best. Shelby as well as the rest of the crew deserves better.
I loved this scene!! Those were good tears and that’s how Caroll Shelby convinced Mr. Ford to let his buddy Ken Miles drive the Ford GT in the LeMans 24 instead of the guy that Ford’s corporate suits had picked for the job. He showed Mr. Ford that not just anyone can drive that car and Ken Miles had pretty much helped build it from the ground up and understood every nuance of the car.
Spoiler alert the reason Mr Ford was crying at the end was because he was able to experience performance and power that his father wasn't able to live to see

He cried because he had not only not known incredible power like this, but also never experienced a spinout like that, especially at such speed. He thought he was dead the second they span out. Shelby made Ford feel like a little boy again, and then pushed him beyond his comfort limits by spinning out on purpose. Ford went from being Mr big swinging dick to a scared child real quick. There's probably other emotions too, as he also realised what a monster shelby and his team had created for him, though he was obviously terrified of it.

You cut the line that makes this entire scene awesome. When Ford says, 'I wish my daddy were alive to see this,' through a faceful of tears. But the man is happy, too. It's a great little bit of acting. He made it truly believable, and that ain't easy with such an intense emotion to portray and make us, the audience, feel it with him.

I think the uploader did it on purpose, to make it look like the big business man was so scared he cried. They even added a background music to emphasize that. This is the problen woth shorts, a lot of context are cut off.
For a son to to continue his fathers legacy not only for the sake of duty and honor, but for the actual love of the craft, is something truly special. For a son to experience or witness something he knows in his heart his father would’ve loved is why a man cries like this. I hope to have something this special to share with my sons.
I haven't seen the movie (seen have seen the comments) but it's amazing how cars can bring guys together and tears of joy, like a picturing a teary-eyed moment between a father and son.

This is probably one of my favorite scenes from the movie, because if the clip had stayed on for another few seconds, Mr. Ford would’ve stated something about how he wished his daddy was alive to see what his company has become or something like that. Either way it was a really feel good moment.

I think fear was in there. Half the reason it is beautiful is because it puts into perspective the raw power man can create, while simultaneously putting you in a state of high stress considering you could very easily die. Little of both I would imagine.
This was a great film and this scene was well acted. The actor portraying Mr. Ford was overwhelmed at their accomplishment and wished his father was still alive to bear witness at what the company was able to achieve.
The fact that goes the second was weeping tears of joy is absolutely understandable! The model t his father was famous for had a top speed around 45mph! The car ford the second is riding in was capable of around 210mph! I’m sure his father would have been very proud of what his son was able to create with his company!

I think the uploader did it on purpose, to make it look like the big business man was so scared he cried. They even added a background music to emphasize that. This is the problen woth shorts, a lot of context are cut off.

For a son to to continue his fathers legacy not only for the sake of duty and honor, but for the actual love of the craft, is something truly special. For a son to experience or witness something he knows in his heart his father would’ve loved is why a man cries like this.

I haven't seen the movie (seen have seen the comments) but it's amazing how cars can bring guys together and tears of joy, like a picturing a teary-eyed moment between a father and son.
Man felt every emotion available to mankind at maximum intensity all at the same time.

This is probably one of my favorite scenes from the movie, because if the clip had stayed on for another few seconds, Mr. Ford would’ve stated something about how he wished his daddy was alive to see what his company has become or something like that. Either way it was a really feel good moment.

I think fear was in there. Half the reason it is beautiful is because it puts into perspective the raw power man can create, while simultaneously putting you in a state of high stress considering you could very easily die. Little of both I would imagine.

This was a great film and this scene was well acted. The actor portraying Mr. Ford was overwhelmed at their accomplishment and wished his father was still alive to bear witness at what the company was able to achieve.

The fact that goes the second was weeping tears of joy is absolutely understandable! The model t his father was famous for had a top speed around 45mph! The car ford the second is riding in was capable of around 210mph! I’m sure his father would have been very proud of what his son was able to create with his company!
