After 2 weeks of use, I get this famous creaky sound already. It's coming from the folding mechanism. I already tried tightening the screws but it didn't work.
This is just a simple mod idea came from Mijia Users PH FB group, I just improved it a little. I used a vinyl clear plastic and a cable tie to hold it in. A rubber will probably work better but I like this one since it's clear.

All ya need to do is loosen the centre bolt around 2mm ,then use a small spanner to tighten the long shaft clockwise towards the centre bolt and locked it. Just like I did to mine ,easy and safe. 😎

Wow, great idea. At first, i thought cable tie would be very ugly, but you showed me, it is good. Using a two side tape could be an another way. But it can easily be dirty, probably.

instead of 3d printing or cutting the "cartilage", I used Thermoplastic Beads... just heat it, place it into the joint and wait to cool down...

Xiaomi are lazy or cheap.. This problems still persists even in the current models, you are better of getting another scooter with a different folding mechanism. This creaking will drive you mad, and no solution is permanent. I have been living with this creaking for over a year. At first, these kind of hacks work, but the creaking eventually comes back stronger than ever. For the last few months none of these hacks worked anymore. I finally bought an aftermarket replacement stem with folding different mechanism Monorim MPole 2.1 for 50 euros. Had a first ride with the new stem yesterday, and I felt so good. The stem felt much more stable, and the creaking is finally gone. I was about to trash the scooter before getting the replacement stem, the creaking was that bad.. Now it feels like the scooter is brand new again. If you are looking to buy a scooter, look for a model where the folding mechanism clamp is on the front, not on the back like Xiaomi models. I think all models where the clamp is on the same side as the hinge will eventually develop some type of noise.

There is a easier fix. Using ductape/gorilla tape. See pictures. Dont mind the silicon. That didnt work. Ductape did. Just one layer of tape on each side not in the middle! And some tape araound the bar to hold it in place! See link imgur.com/a/THywlgW
