  • I saved thousands of dollars welding my own custom 1x3" mild steel handrails with Cumaru 1x6" caps to match our deck flooring.
This is a great beginner TIG welding skills builder project. Because there are so many pieces, I had time to study & learn to manipulate the puddle.
THANK YOU to my younger daughter who helped me install in below freezing weather!!!

Thank you, Dustin! ...for everything. You got me on my feet with MIG welding right from the get go. I'll always be grateful for you taking the time to do that.

Thank you, Eric! I took your advice and feedback from the last video and tightened this one up. Big THANKS to you for honest feedback!

Nice project and nice video, Andrew. Your editing is getting tighter. And the camera work looks great.

Thank you! I'm studying and committed to improve. Learned what not to do on my previous video!

@@branchandfoundry560 After you finish editing, watch it a few times and see if you catch yourself skipping any parts. Once you’ve tightened everything up and are happy with it, go back and try to remove another 30-60 seconds. There’s always more to trim! (Really good job, though!)

@@vinofarm Excellent advice. PLEASE let me know where YOU skipped ahead. That's what I really need to know. Thank you!

@@branchandfoundry560 I didn’t skip! That’s what I’m saying… this had great pacing, but if you really tried, you could probably remove 60 seconds and tell the same story. One criticism I had was that the title implied this was going to be about beginning TIG welding but there was very little TIG welding on the video!

@@vinofarm Great point! It'd be REALLY boring to show a ton of TIG welding clips. As it is, that would be the first place I cut clips out if I was to re-edit. The project itself is a great beginner TIG project because it's all repetitive butt & lap joints, which do not require filler if your fit up is tight. Hope that helps clarify.
BTW this title was generated by the algorithm because NOBODY is searching for "Custom Lake House Handrails" ;-)

Lovely work. With your skill set and equipment you will make pretty easy work of the MGA Coupe.

Thank you! Don't let presentation fool you. I'm barely figuring it out as I go. All tooling is homemade and second hand...my wife & I call our place the "House of Nothing New."

Btw stay tuned for a video of the 40 ton, 48" width press brake I'm building right now!

I saw you trying to hammer that center punch into your forehead! Brother, that is _never_ the way.

Perfect! Though, my eyeball is a smidge too squishy to depress the spring😉 Thank you for watching!
