Yes austin! Trust you don't have to keep the videos brief the longer the better bruva! Talk as much as u want mate it's all good, best of luck putting together, I bet you miss the garage and pit now tho! Look forward to next video. Peace
Not necessarily a "Cheap" build. But more of a Budget Turbo build lol. Keep up the good work, your video's gave me the inspiration to do a m50 stroker swap in my 318i convertible! I just need some angle & a cage to get out on the track . I'll be keep my eye on this turbo installation so that when the time comes for a turbo I'll know what to do. I've heard of the stroker m50's running up to 35psi so I hoping for powerrrrrr !!!!
Hi Austin great video! Can’t wait for the next one. It will be a great help as I’m doing the same as you at the moment but a top mount. Also from the UK so will have the problem of the steering rack getting in the way 😩 keep me updated!
I am at first, which they should be adequate at this low of a boost level. I am looking at swapping in some larger OEM ones though. I just need to figure out which ones fit and what they come on (I've been told by a few people but I've forgotten). +Jacob Sidorov
You have to run a vacuum source to the wastegate even if you aren't hooking up a boost controller. Also make sure you run a oil restrictor too turbo. Question: Are you going to be using the stock maf?
That's what I figured with the wastegate but I wasn't sure. As far as everything else, I have an oil restrictor feed plate for the turbo and I am going use the stock MAF (I also, have a 540i MAF that I could use though). Also, thanks for helping. +will martens
That should be fine for low boost, but I don't think the stock maf could handle anymore than 300 hp (or the stock injectors definitely not) No problem man! Been a watcher since almost day 1. You're videos have definitely helped me out with a few things
550? Wow i was always so overwhelmed by the prices online glad to see some one is doing an affordable build, is their a list I can get to check off what I need I just bought a mint 1995 325i with 60k
Omg omg omg I have been waiting for this moment! I’m interested in how you’re going to run the oil feed line off the vanos. I plan on boosting my e36. Is there a reason why a 4 psi spring vs the 8?
Thanks, and yes it has vanos. Also, I'll put a link to the turbo manifold below.+111222333gabe Link: m.ebay.com/itm/T3-T4-Turbo-Flange-35-38mm-Wastegate-Flange-Iron-Cast-Manifold-For-BMW-E36-E46/382126031005?hash=item58f87c809d%3Ag%3AWFIAAOSwx-1Zejd6&_trkparms=pageci%253Aa297dd96-bac3-11e7-a489-74dbd18048dd%257Cparentrq%253A5bca518b15f0abc2311e1ca6fffff39d%257Ciid%253A4
You can't use the stock maf in that location, it's a draw through not a blow through MAF. If you want to keep the stock maf you have to place it on the turbo inlet so it can meter the air going through. Also, if you keep the stock maf and put it on the turbo inlet, every time your BOV vents the pressure, your car will get a temporary rich condition.
So excited bro, by the way what pistons inside your engine? The turbo will go awesome with the dished pistons, if you have the flat pistons makes sure that the fuel should be high octane.
I’m planning on supercharging my bmw e36 323i, 300hp would be great don’t need much more than that. I’ve been looking at the CX racing kit and think it’s the one to get, anyone got any advice on other kits. I don’t really want to spend anymore than £2000ish and don’t mind going with a diy option instead of a kit. Btw great video man, I knew nothing about turbos before this and I feel like a genius now 😂
Love the build man! Hoping to boost my e36 325i some day. Ill be following closely. Curious to see how the ebay setup works in compared to fancy crap lol. Good work austin.
If you can put all the links and type stuff cuz I have no time to look everything up and seems like u have a nice decent set up and I'd like to do the same
You still need to run a vacuum line to the waste gate. Do some research on how waste gates work. An "8 psi" spring is a spring that is overcome when it sees 8 psi of gauge pressure above atmospheric pressure. There is a diaphragm above the spring and when 8 psi of manifold pressure is reached the vacuum lines will bring that pressure to the diaphragm overcoming the spring pressure and opening the gate. Without a line from the manifold, the waste gate will never open.
So..... I'm about to turbo my e30 325.... in Scotland. Just realised I my e30 has been sprayed the exact same colour as your 2! I'll message you a picture... I'll record my build too ;)
That's what I figured, but I wasn't entirely sure. Also, I have a port on the compressor housing that'll be perfect as a vacuum point for an ext. wastegate/boost gauge (since it use to have an internal wastegate). Thanks for the heads up🖒+the car guy?
Definitely want the vacuum hooked up, the 4psi wastegate spring is actually like the returning force to keep the wastegate closed, the force to open it will come from the vacuum so when you're spooled up to 4psi, the vacuum will overcome the spring and open the wastegate up to keep you from overboosting. If you take the vacuum from the turbo it'll be making 4psi at the turbo but I'd probably take it from the inlet manifold area so you're actually making 4psi to the engine (there will be a pressure drop through your intercooler/piping which could mean you end up making almost zero boost!)
great vid, i like your approach to the start of build, really look forward to rest of the build, why not make a seperate play list series that people can subscribe to ? cheers
I like the low-budget idea, but I think you'll save yourself trouble sooner or later if you buy quality parts ... But I wish you the best of luck anyways and I'll follow the build :)
Saw the notification and immediately dropped what I was doing and liked the video.
You're always the best! The first turbo burnie will be in your honor +Darth Volvo
Hell yeah dude, working night shift and had to watch this before I went to sleep. Glad to see you turbo your car, you will never be the same lol.

I have this car and I wanted to eventually put a turbo in it, this video helped
Yes austin! Trust you don't have to keep the videos brief the longer the better bruva! Talk as much as u want mate it's all good, best of luck putting together, I bet you miss the garage and pit now tho! Look forward to next video. Peace

You should check pazi88 on youtube he has done ebay turbo series, atleast he knows what to do and how to do.
FINALLY ! been waiting so patiently
Glad to see you're back to making vids and progressing on the e36. I'm probably the only one that misses the shark mouth. Lol
Ae86 Hachi The Sharkmouth needs to return!
Not the only one
Not the only one lol
This is gonna help me turbo any car I need to
you cant just run spring pressure it will go to like 15 lbs on a 4 lb spring without a vacuum line you have to run a line to it
Great, are you going to play with the stock ecu ?
You are the best Austin..👍
Not necessarily a "Cheap" build. But more of a Budget Turbo build lol. Keep up the good work, your video's gave me the inspiration to do a m50 stroker swap in my 318i convertible! I wanna ask..i can put 2 turbines in an adaptor to have twin turbo/biturbo?
yes,yes,yes
Which cast iron manifold is that? Almost looks like a knock off spa manifold
my guy wheer did u buy the turbo and the other parts please elaborate the websites
Can u put links for all parts
What are you gonna do about fuel like upgrade fuel pump or injectors
stock injectors?
I am at first, which they should be adequate at this low of a boost level. I am looking at swapping in some larger OEM ones though. I just need to figure out which ones fit and what they come on (I've been told by a few people but I've forgotten). +Jacob Sidorov
yeah i figured thats what you were gonna do. awesome dude, i cant wait to see it when its done! itll rip
I've heard 5.0 mustang injectors fit in alot of bmws Austin
Buggy Zilla yes they do fit! So do s52 m3 injectors or m54b30 injectors
Bmw e36 328i injectors.
Ayyee finally 💪💯
Were did you bought the t3t4 turbo?
Here we goooooo
Hey man think you can put a link in the description to all of the parts
I stoked about this cuz I'm looking to turbo my e36 323is
Has the top end been redone? Rods, pistons, headwork?
When are we gonna see some style 32’s on this bimmer?
Hey man love your vids! I'm boosting my vw vr6 because of you! I'm gonna take the same route as you and learn from your how to

Awesome man, I`ll be turbocharging my e36 soon as well,
Shoutout from Brazil! Keep it slidey!
550? Wow i was always so overwhelmed by the prices online glad to see some one is doing an affordable build, is their a list I can get to check off what I need I just bought a mint 1995 325i with 60k
can you link all the parts you used? or is there somewhere where I can find this?
thanks bro , the e36 is my favourite car
Does the e36 kit fit on e34 ? M50b35 motor
Fuel pump upgrade?
Hi you have a nice project !! can you give me the link where to buy the complete turbo kit? Tkns 💪👍
Omg omg omg I have been waiting for this moment! I’m interested in how you’re going to run the oil feed line off the vanos. I plan on boosting my e36. Is there a reason why a 4 psi spring vs the 8?
TW Garage he's probably just beeing cautious about not blowing his engie, or he might be avoiding a to oxygen rich mixture.
Easy way is to run off the pressure sensor! 3/8 is the thread then get a reducer to 1/8 because most oil feed lines are 1-8 and you’re good to go
Love the videos, do you have a link to the turbo manifold? Also your car is a Vanos correct?
Thanks, and yes it has vanos. Also, I'll put a link to the turbo manifold below.+111222333gabe

Where are the rest of the vids????
Are you going to piedmont on the 5th?
I'm not entirely sure yet. Either way I won't be driving since the E36 will be down:( +jesusrodriguezrivera
So excited bro, by the way what pistons inside your engine? The turbo will go awesome with the dished pistons, if you have the flat pistons makes sure that the fuel should be high octane.
cant wait
Are you gonna run stock clutch?
where did you got the turbo?
Great video super helpful, thanks!

As far as you know would this build be pretty much the same process as doing it on an m52(b28)?
It'll be essentially identical. The only significant difference will be tuning related, due to the M52 being OBD2 +Dylan Lenz
Whats up? No new videos?
I miss your videos!
I wanna do the samething with my e36 318is. Would it be almost the same process as yours?
You inspire me to get my e36 bro
Hey guys I was wondering how reliable would my 1998 bmw 328i vert if I turbo it
If you can put all the links and type stuff cuz I have no time to look everything up and seems like u have a nice decent set up and I'd like to do the same

motomx69 where abouts in Scotland mate?
Yeah boi!
what year is the e36
Does IT work on 320i?
Performance fuelpump and injectors? Blowoff = no flutter :/
Where did you go?
Fuel set up?
Stock internals??
What kit is this??
Is this an M50 engine?
how did you learn about cars ??
Still waiting on this build
You will still need a vacuum to the Watergate at least from the the turbo to wastegate
That's what I figured, but I wasn't entirely sure. Also, I have a port on the compressor housing that'll be perfect as a vacuum point for an ext. wastegate/boost gauge (since it use to have an internal wastegate). Thanks for the heads up🖒+the car guy?

Austin Ferguson psyched for the build though, hopefully give me the inspiration to boost my own 325!
Anyone know where I can get this?
How many “which”
Just a touch more than the 300 "but"s +TRD LOVER
I have been waiting for ages on the turbo build and it’s finally happening... excited to for the build
Hi, you have a nice projetc! can you give me the link where to buy the complete turbo kit? Tkns 👍💪

When are you gonna post more
I'm one of the very few people who prefer sequential turbos, even if they do not perform as well... Plz do that
I'd do it the way the 325 TDS' done, especially when it comes to cooler piping.
Did u turbo ur BMW yet?
great vid, i like your approach to the start of build, really look forward to rest of the build, why not make a seperate play list series that people can subscribe to ?
cheers
U should give us the links man i am gonna do the same thing for my e46 325ci but i am looking for something cheap
kaan berke özdoğan step 1: sell it and buy a 330ci and turbo that.
I like the low-budget idea, but I think you'll save yourself trouble sooner or later if you buy quality parts ...
But I wish you the best of luck anyways and I'll follow the build :)
