One of the best hard rubbish pickups is old clothes horses, you see them all the time. Great for climbing frames for plants and you can also pull off the rails and use them for stakes. They last years in the garden and are the perfect size. It seems every hard rubbish pile has at least one.
Ooh great idea! I’ve definitely seen some of these around recently! I think once I’ve fixed up my pathways and irrigation I might need to invest in a shed 😂
Another tip I’ve heard to help know if your passionfruit is the grated plant or the rootstock- the leaves of the grafted plant usually have three tips/lobes, and the rootstock usually has five
The zucchini leaf with silvery motling at 3:04 is completely normal. anchor the boysenberry pot by popping a stake in the ground parallel with the wire arch and tie it off.
Christie just drive a stake through your pots to support your little arch. The yellow zucchini has variegated leaves and can grow massive. My plant last year was over a mitre wide and 2 mitres long but beautiful eating! Also if you want a banana plant sing out after the holidays. I have heaps of them growing and not far from you. Kayleen
Oooh a banana plant sounds very tempting! When do you harvest? Wonder if you’d want to give me a tour and teach our viewers about growing bananas sometime in the new year?!
The coriander will likely die if you transplant now. Let it go to seed and throw the seed where you want it. My first plant was allowed to seed and self sows in that area. They like a bit of shade too. X
Corn easily copes with wind - you can grow it as a wind barrier. I'd say you'll have a bigger problem in that you've got a lot of plants in a pretty small pot! Nice video 🎉
Thank you for your videos Christie. I am just up the road from you in Croydon and have noticed no aphids this year. But, some years we get lots. Love to know the types of tomato's you have shown.
You’re very welcome! Glad the aphids have been keeping away for you too. Re tomatoes… truth is I can’t remember what all of them are 😂 there’s a big variety in there though! Cherrys, Black Russians, sungolds, little yellow ones, a bunch of volunteers too! What are you growing?
I love your garden tours, and I would really love to be able to grow more vegetables. I have lost my mojo a bit, because I have been having such a big problem with rodents . I fear that you are being targeted by them as well. They chewed through my mesh bags last year, as well, and ate my tomatoes and zucchinis. Thank goodness for my vegepod 😂
Argh the rodents kill me! They even ate through my vegepod cover over winter! Let me know if you ever discover the magic solution that doesn’t involve filling the yard with baits!
Birds are eating all my scarlet runner beans red flowers!! I grew them because they look so pretty but I’ve had only 2 beans so far. I’m going to put some more basic beans in that don’t have pretty flowers ….Grrr pests I buy the organza bags from the reject shop that I put on my passion fruit, I’m going to send you some pics by email
We must have had all your aphids down Geelong way as they devastated our small nectarine tree and half destroyed our larger one a couple of months ago. Now we have no fruit on the small one and only half of what we had on the larger one. Did you buy those circular wire frames that you have supporting some of your plants, and if so, where from?
enjoying your channel Christie. Learned a few things, thank you. I am concerned about your corn. the round pot with 4 - 5 plants seem to close (I know they need to be close but not sure the roots will cope with such a small pot. ?
Yeah a bit of powdery mildew but I wouldn't worry. I never have aphids in my veggie garden, I think they're too busy with my roses. The caterpillars are out in full force, which is driving me wild. Looking forward to that video
Congrats to u on yur channel success Ms Christie !! I wish I did vids on my old aphid infested okra for u. My Chinese Kale seedlings r finally growing & my Ceylon Spinach (Alugbati) is very happy & really climbing. Growing up in Western New York State we had good luck w/big tomatoes but had to deal w/snails/slugs. Do u have these pests there? Also a few yrs ago here in Philippines I had real good papaya. Do u have them there in your location ?? T/y Lawrence 🙂 BTW- yur garden is awesome !! Love yur variety & size. That self-pollinating stuff really fascinates me & like to find more about it.
Ohh we have so many snails and slugs here too! That’ll have to be a separate video one day I think. Not sure it’s warm enough for papaya here, but I could be wrong?!
Yes that was powdery mildew. Maybe try a brick in bottom of pots that are falling over I feel your tomato pain, i babied one tomato. No sign of any critters. It started blushing and i was away for 24 hours. GONE. No sign of it anywhere. But we've been struggling up here in SE QLD, so much rain and humidity. Your garden looks fantastic. Thanks for another great video.
Christie I wonder what the consensus is on a. Dahlia = Day Leah b. Dahlia= Dar Leeya. I’ll admit I’m guilty of ‘b’. 😊 PS I replied too soon. Lucy eating the mic cover was hilarious 😂👏👏👏👏
I’d say there’s a good chance I get some of these pronunciations wrong 😅 here’s what Google recons: In Australia, dahlia is typically pronounced as DAY-lee-uh, with the emphasis on the first syllable. However, some people may say DAH-lee-uh (like “dar”), which is also widely understood. The DAY-lee-uh pronunciation is more common in Australian English.
I’m very open about the fact that I love sharing my favourite gardening products, and I’m also open about the lovely relationships I’ve built with some of the local brands that make those products. You’d also be amazed how many brands I’ve turned away because I didn’t believe in their products. Also it’s a good idea to stay away from videos about “gardening Christmas gift ideas” if you’re not wanting to learn about gardening products. Thanks for watching ☺️
Ah 🧐super garden !✍️🙋🏻♀️
Glad you enjoyed it! Just wait til you see what I’ve been up to this week 🎉🎉🎉 new video coming soon!

I’m not an expert so if anyone has more information, please add to this! 😊
Thanks for the tips!

Merci beaucoup! 🙌🏼

@ They take about 18months or more. I’m not a banana expert but have lots here I could share. Lets connect in the new year!
Wow your chillies look amazing. You can tell when they have a lighter green tip, it's them being amazing and just pumping out growth.
Beauty! I’ve still got plenty of chillies from last year in the freezer so I might have to get creative with how I use them 😂
The coriander will likely die if you transplant now. Let it go to seed and throw the seed where you want it. My first plant was allowed to seed and self sows in that area. They like a bit of shade too. X
You’re spot on - it didn’t survive the transplant!
that passionfruit will easily take over the nearby trellis. If you want a 'normal' plant there is always the non-grafted variety. lovely backyard
Thanks for the tips ☺️

Thank you! One of the best things about producing these videos is all the tips I get from people about how to improve my own garden - it’s such a win!

Oh no sorry to hear that! Do you mean the circular tomato frames? I actually got them from hard rubbish but most nursaries sell them
@@ChristieCooper That was a good find with the frames😮

Yes I was wondering the same thing. Do you think I should sacrifice a couple and pull them out?

Thanks for the info! I could definitely include footage of aphids in your roses or your caterpillars if you wanted to send any through!

Sorry that comment was a bit bullet point-ish. I was adding to it throughout the video, while gardening myself 😂
Argh that’s so frustrating about your tomato! It actually amazes me how they can tell when they’re ripening up - often better than we can!
@ChristieCooper very frustrating but it is all a part of gardening

@ I concede!😂😂
The garden is looking so good and love your dress too! 😍🙌💕 Ps where did you get those chairs that the boys were sitting on?
Thank you! Hmmm my husband bought them so no idea actually, I’ll find out!
@ChristieCooper Thank you! 🙏💕✨

Don't bother with the mesh bags for your tomatoes. Go for the big whole plant cover with a drawstring and a zipper.
Oh and try kaolin clay spray for downy mildew
Thank you! Don’t suppose you’ve got a link for where to find them?
@ChristieCooper I got mine from temu
