It's really good.... And when you drink it, use the berries in oatmeal.... You'll want to try to dissolve that sugar.... I have had it make a hard can't later on the bottom....
Thanks for sharing the steps. I made some for the first time too! I can’t wait to try it! I love the advice from the comments to dehydrate the berries after opening.
Wow, looks super easy and quick. I bet it's a lot more affordable too with the cost of materials vs buying it ready made. (Plus you know exactly what's in there!). Thanks for sharing, Amanda. 💚
You will love it. I have been doing this for 2 years now. You can use the cranberries after you open your juice for a relish or dehydrate them so many uses and no waste.
You may want to run out and get a few more bags of cranberries, this juice is WONDERFUL! To mine, I added a few Grapefruit peels, YUMMY! Opened one of mine at 4 weeks, it is PERFECT! You can do any fruit you like to make juice, I personally have not tried that, but want to make Grapefruit Only Juice. *Also, I did some of mine CJ sugar free... Haven't tasted them yet.
While the exact process I followed may not be a tested recipe, here's one that is. Can at your discretion. Your kitchen, your rules. nchfp.uga.edu/how/can_02/cranberries.html
I have watched several TH-camrs do this. They said 6-8 weeks. I think I will try one can at 6 weeks, BECAUSE I just CANNOT wait 😂. I am also going to put my first opened jar in my Vitamix and blend well. Then strain and use it to second ferment my kombucha 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I did not use sugar, so we will see how it turns out 🤞🏻🤞🏻,. The pulp I will throw into some homemade yogurt or kefir. 😊 BUT my dogs will love the pulp as well 🐾🐾❤️ Hello Marley 🐾🐾❤️ from Leo Beauregard, and Boris Badenov 🐾🐾❤️
This looks easy! Also I wanted to ask if you have ever tried freeze drying bone broth? Costco has powdered broth now but It’s a bit pricey so I’m wondering if it can be done ? Thanks!
This is something I may try in 2024. I haven't done it yet...and I can see the convenience. But I actually think it's even more convenient to have it in its liquid state on the shelf (pressure canned). One less step I have to worry about, meaning re-hydrating it.
I LOVE my steam canner!! I almost use that exclusively now for all water bath canning recipes. The advantages are....less water, heats faster, lighter and easier to transport, can do smaller batches of canning when time allows. I can't think of any cons. Worth every penny (and fairly affordable). amzn.to/4ax5ISG
I would not recommend going sugar free. The reason is that the sugar is what makes it acidic and safe enough to water bath or steam can it. If you didn't have sugar, you'd want to pressure can....and I have no idea how that would turn out.

I love doing this. I live on the Oregon coast and we have tons of local cranberry bogs.

Loved this how to. I’ve wanted to try this but the cranberries were much more expensive. Val C

Can you do it with no sugar?
Great idea!!
I wouldn't.....only because of the level of acidity for safety in canning it.
I am not sure but you can do less sugar@@forestgyrl

Be careful with the sugar free version...You just want to make sure the contents in the jar are acidic enough for a safely canned product.
We do this with blueberries too! My kids like to open a jar and add to sparkling water!
What a great idea!!! I will do that next summer. Thank you!
Thanks for posting as I don't follow instagram.
Tip; Last Janurary I found cranberries on sale cheap. Juiced mine mid month. Great savings.
Great tip!!
For those watching that may not know, this is NOT a safe, tested recipe. Do it at your own risk.

Marley is sooooo cute.
Thank you, we think so too. :)
Question? Do you not wash the cranberries before you do this? I’ve watch d t least five different channels, and they have not washed the berries!
good eye! I didn't wash them....and for no other reason than I just didn't think to in that moment.
steam canner vs water bath which would you prefer?: any advantages to either one?
