Nice video. Thanks for letting me view the inside of the shop with you. When I was about 14, I went to a big shop, but didn't get to actually see the machines. My dad and I just dropped off my engine for my (then) 61 Buick Special aluminum block v8. Wish I still had that car. One owner with 41k miles when we bought it. Sat in a little old ladies garage til the tires dry rotted. Cherry. Cheers!
Great video Brian, nice of you to showcase the behind the scenes guys who make machine work a very admirable trade, the skills shown here are top notch for sure. Thanx for sharin the trip to the "other" shop !! doug
I made another video about that. It was because the valves weren't adjusted on time AND the timing belt was put on off one tooth. This caused hot compression gases to flow by a little at first and then to increase as the valve lost material.
Cool vid man... I love seeing stuff like this.... Oh, and your friend (Blue Nike hat) did a nice job presenting and explaining. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Love the machine shop videos. John Edwards has a great channel too. his is FIATNUTZ . John LITERALLY wrote the book on a bunch of engine machining stuff. everything there is either machining or him & his buddies racing old air cooled fiats.
What's ironic is I bet the serdi valve cutters and etc. in a shop like that wouldn't fill up a typical work bench, but I'm certain is more expensive than all those machines and equipment they got. That's the real reason I take my stuff in. Go buy one valve seat cutting kit and it's gonna cost ya over 1K. How many different angle and size cutters you think a shop like that has? Those machines like new can be had at auction for $500 or a little more if you can haul them home from chicago area.
Tiny magical witches use metallic glass coated broomsticks and magic to beat the debris from the components within. ; ) Yes. Chemicals, steam, and pressure.
I work in the field of engine repair and I work on all the installations. The crankshaft is also rubbed. The line of crankshaft chairs, etc. Please help me. I need work. Can I work for you in any country?

Thanks for the video, Brian. With all the machine shops in Utah County, I've never tried Cleggs before. I'll have to check them out.

Great Video!
Be a floor sweeper and watch and train any time you could. Or go to Argentina and train and then come back. Or go to a tech school to learn it.

The machine shops that I go to don't look anything like this place.

That was inappropriate (disrespectful) the first time.

Boring machine. Euh not boring at all, lol. Cool video.
No safety glasses on anyone... I don't allow anyone in my shop without them, machines running or otherwise.
