    Well done video👍 and beautiful facility. I can only hope all my hard work pays off and I can make my shop as as nicely tooled as this. I did see in the background an old Storm Vulcan rt17y block and head resurfacer like mine. Of coure I saw you have upgraded to that newer and larger DCM surfacer, nice choice. Also nice to see the pressure tester you use. That is Delta Custom Tools model 6000 pressure test stand, made right here in B.C, Canada🇨🇦. Same one I have! Always nice to see products from my neighbors making their way around the continent.
    Anyways, good stuff🍻

    When I did my apprenticeship, con-rod journals were ground first, to relieve stresses in the crank. But , perhaps you like being rough.

  • @kooldoozer
    @kooldoozer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    After a flywheel is ground, the operator releases it from the faceplate and DRAGS the ring gear teeth across the faceplate on the machine. This will for sure raise scratches in the surface of the faceplate. Poor shop practice. Also I noticed during the cylindrical grinding of the crankshaft journals, even after full cleanup had been achieved on the journal, an uneven intermittent sound was coming from the grinding wheel. This very likely means that the wheel needed to be dressed because of an out-of-round condition or the wheel surface was not coaxial to the grinder spindle. Either way, diamond dressing seems to have been needed. You might want to investigate these poor shop practices to improve your operations, and especially before posting a video publicly. Just trying to help. I know not everyone notices these details, but in precision machine work, these things are important.

      People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

      @@Peter-V_00 I do not live in a glass house. I am an experienced machinist. My comments come from me actually using similar machines and doing like jobs. If you disagree with any of my specific comments, let us discuss why you are right and I am mistaken. Please.
