I prefer the full-sized Ultratech or the UTX-85 over the Hera. I like Microtech knives, but I can’t justify the price difference over the UTX-85 for a titanium clip and sharp jimping on the handle.
1. Do you really want a b/s clip on a $500.00 knife? 2. Do you want a smooth handle on a knife made for stabbing so your hand can slide down the blade sir?
@@knifeknerdreviews4609 There is a little spring underneath the switch. I don't know the reason of putting that spring underneath but I had got a Chinese knockoff combat troodon which didn't have that spring. The switch on that knock off otf is solid. It actually helped me recognize between an authentic one and a knockoff microtech.
I just picked up a Hera.... overall I got to say I like the knife. But I also have a complaint about the loose rattling button. I have a knock off microtech and the button on that one doesn't rattle at all. Have you contacted microtech tech about the issue?
Nope I got rid of it. Typically if a knife doesn't pass my sniff test it's gone, unless it's something special I'm not wasting my time trying to warranty it over a nitpick.
@@drizzt3456ifyI know. To them it's not... Sent mine back to see what they would do. All they did was send it though the custom shop for a sharpening and cleaning... Very disappointing a company like that wouldn't take more pride in their fit and finish. I'd be willing to bet the $5,000 versions of these knives don't have a loose button/switch. If they do, that's terrible craftmanship.
@@michaelanderson7343 I really don't see it as any kind of a problem. It's inherent to the design of the knife. If it really bothers you, and you want no button movement whatsoever get a Dirac.
@@drizzt3456ify you live you learn... microtech just turned out to be one of those brands for me. Just expected better considering the Chinese did it pretty well.
I personally found this review to be super nitpicky. The sharpness of the Jimping is a feature for me because it helps you lock in, maybe you have soft hands. Saw blades?? Also to say the button feels cheap sounds absurd. When in any scenario are you tapping the slide like that? You only push it up and down and it feels incredibly sturdy. I've had this knife for a week and didn't notice button play in any scenario.. until you brought it up - cause there's no reason to tap on it in any way other than digging in to fire, like I said. This is a super high quality knife all around and it sounds like you're dislike of the D/E blade style and OTFs made you find reasons to hate on the rest of the knife.
I don't dislike D/E blades, I have bought many D/E OTF's and never an S/E not once because I prefer D/E on an OTF...🤣 "It's Nit Picky" No shit sherlock, the name of the channel is Knife Knerd. If you want honest opinions I'm your guy, if you don't wanna be offended by my opinion definitely don't watch my reviews. 🤣
What is a "Knife Style"? 🤣 I dont hate OTFs I hated the Hera. Amazing that a youtube review would actually just be the raw truth instead of just saying what sponsors wanna hear right... Mind blowing, how can that guy not give a positive review to something I like? Its almost like other opinions exist... WOW, Shocking...

1. I don't understand the question
2. I don't want discomfort on any knife handle ever, no matter its intended use.
That rattling switch is actually a feature in microtech knives. A Chinese microtech knockoff company even apply this feature in their recent products.
How is it a feature? When I think solid high quality knife rattling is the last thing that comes to mind...lol

@@overlordflower5865 the spring allows the action to be smoother, keeps the switch from dragging
The steel is either Elmax, M390, or 204P.
Love microtech shadow dlc models . Just picked up the new makora shadow and love it
Only the Dirac don’t have trigger play at all . All microtechs other then the Dirac have that play if you smack the trigger like that
It's a cool looking knife. That's about it tho. Great review 👍

They wouldn't do anything about it because it isn't a defect.

Six saw blades! 😂
What is with you people being so bothered with slide rattle? Lol
What do you mean "You People"?... 🤣
It’s m390 .
I can own them here but not carry them. So I don't invest in them. Thank you for review.
Overpriced. Weird design. Not a fan , amd I like glass breakers.
This is the worst selling microtech
Let me review a knife style I hate.
