    Awesome Review! Thanks! I finally got one that's coming Monday in 20CV! Should I be worried about pressing on the lock bar and making the opening difficult with my XXL hands? Thanks!

    Fantastic review I’m just curious if you could only pick one between the plain Jane version of the Koenig arius or the 36:05 off F 95 plain Jane and could only have one of these two knives for the rest of your life which one would you choose?

    Just guessing here, but it looks like the titanium is zirblasted.
    It leaves a great finish that hides small scratches and light wear really well.

    • @knifeknerdreviews4609
      @knifeknerdreviews4609  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems likely, they certainly dont skimp on anything, makes sense they would use the best. But its not done over a sanded, smoothed, or tumbled finish, they go right over the milling lines with the blast.

      I'm definitely seeing that they don't skimp!
      I got to handle a friend's early model, but that was before I'd handled so many high end knives and probably didn't appreciate the quality.
      I've been watching a ton of videos on the newer versions recently, but the way you describe all of the tiniest details is exactly how I judge the quality of a knife so this is probably the one thats convinced me to finally buy an Arius.

    I stalked koenig when I saw the FD shorts on Instagram. So much so, Tessa thought of me after blade show and they forgot one. Woven copper carbon fiber show, flipper delete, both sides milled texture and its perfect with factory bearings! Makes me feel fancy as can be,, when I carry it. Yes, mirror edges very over rated!

    Beautiful knife! To be honest, After buying one on the secondary market (mint cond) I was underwhelmed compared to the hype. I didn't think it was any better then the multiple Reate knives I've owned/handled. Thanks for sharing

      As a huge fan of Reate, No, its not even close... Koenig is far more precision made... Even more so then Shirogorov production knives. But what we are talking about is very subtle, its not something everybody will get.

Anybody who understands the subtle details of precision cnc made knives will tell you the same... You dont have to get it bro but trust me most people that have owned one get it... lol.

      @@knifeknerdreviews4609 You made my point for me! Coming from a automotive Machining and Aerospace CNC background, I know the subtle differences you state. No way in this world do their models have twice the price of CNC time (or programming) to explain the price difference from Reate.
      Being made in USA I understand a premium must be applied, But the "hype" goes hand in hand with the inflated cost! You shouldn't take it personally, They're good knives obviously, Just not the "best" IMO.

  • @ericmack001

    Rockstead knives generally cost more than Koenig knives. So you can compare them in terms of quality. I would say that the Todd Begg Bodega is more of a grail than a Koenig Arius for me.

    • @knifeknerdreviews4609
      @knifeknerdreviews4609  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you are talking a Custom Bodega that is a $2500+ knife... All Blinged out man jewelry... His work was dope about 6 years ago. Now it's just kinda gawdy. I've had the steelcraft versions a few times and liked them but they never blew my skirt up. If you wanna compare an Arius to something It rides in the same lane as Shirogorov production models. There really isn't much out there in this same quality of manufacturing to price ratio. They are less available because it is a small shop with a small crew that has god tier quality control and attention to detail. For what it is and how it is manufactured their level of product output is outstanding. Koenig has a steady pace of scheduled drops that alternates between basic models, carbon fiber models and customs and they bang it out like a well oiled machine. Yeah it might not be easy to get the exact model you want because they have a loyal fanbase that stays on top of drops like hunter biden foraging a hotel room carpet for crack dust. In the grand scheme of things The title of the video says the Arius is ONE of the best knives in the world. Not "THE" best knife in the world. If you want a piece of CNC machine art perfection with a blade there are plenty of options and the Arius has earned it's place among them as is clear by the continued high demand that never lets up despite having been on the market for a steady 5 or 6 years... Hype dies fast, Quality begets loyalty and the Arius is going to have a long long life in the high end knife world.

      @@knifeknerdreviews4609 The 2500$ Bodega’s are midtechs. The Custom Bodega’s are to expensive for me. I really want the polished titanium Bodega with the ingraving. I wanted a custom Arius a while back. I wanted a mirror polished blade and a red carbon fiber handle. They refused to make it. The custom Koenigs are just for shows. Not everyone can make it to a knife show. Anyone should be able to buy what they want. You can have a custom Buck, or a custom Benchmade knife made. But it’s drama if you try to have a Koenig knife made. That is why I think they are overrated!! It is there availability.

    The G and G Hawk Deadlock is an awesome knife. Any knife from Rockstead. There are a lot of really cool knives out there to choose from. Koenig knives should have better availability. I would rather own a Kirby Lambert Orion MGT. or a Todd Begg Bodega.

      I mean like most collectable posessions, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. Its subjective, somebody out there thinks the Arius is ugly and hates it while others spend large sums of cash to own one or 12... A video review is never going to be able to tell you how the knife feels or functions in real life, thats something you gotta find out from experience. Otherwise Koenig has Grade A customer service and stands behind their very high quality product, can't really ask for much more then that.

    The Koenig Arius is nice. But I don’t think it’s one of the best knives in the world. I honestly think Rockstead’s are better and easier to buy. Koenig are so hard to find and buy that you would think they were custom made knives. I tried to buy one with a mirror polished blade and red carbon fiber. But they would not make it. Koenig are over priced small batch production knives. They should be easier to buy for anyone who has the money.

    • @knifeknerdreviews4609
      @knifeknerdreviews4609  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plenty easy to buy on the aftermarket. Rocksteads run on washers, I don't see how the two could even be compared as it's a completely different genre... That's like saying Barbie is better then Gi-Joe, yeah they are both toys but with very different styles for different reasons... And Yes Rockstead is Barbie.. 😉

    • @ericmack001
      @ericmack001 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see Koenig’s listed for over a thousand. I don’t see what makes them worth double the list price. Rocksteads have amazing polishing on the blade, and they are amazingly sharp!
      At least you see where your money goes. You try to buy a Koenig at list price and most places are sold out. Koenigs are not worth the hype.

    • @edged_mindset
      @edged_mindset 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ericmack001 I don't see how you can even make this comparison. Rocksteads are nice, but they are aluminum handles and a bent steel pocket clip. This is full milled titanium everything. The Shin, which is a bit bigger but similar enough in size, is over 1k new with essentially the same materials as a Microtech Socom Elite.
