Well done, great contacts. Can I ask if you run off a sperate battery or off the van battery? Just trying to plan for some summer static mobile work if I should get a separate battery or not.
Yeah ive been running off a separate leisure battery which I have afixed in the back, ive done a few videos on the liesure battery, and have a relay kit that charges it up. Cheers
@@2E0LMI th-cam.com/users/shortsMrjVfiYZrvQ?feature=share just a quick short I did on it , but also a more in-depth look at it as well th-cam.com/video/V4lkQvi6kZk/w-d-xo.html. This one was before I got it in the back of the van.
When you key up,you never know who is gonna respond to you, specialy when the band is quiet! Many times a quiet band give the best contacts in my experience! When the skip is pooring in it´s much harder to make a decente contact in that hornets nest of noise!cheers buddy
Maybe bud ive spoke loads of statside, just haven't hit the west coast yet, conditions from states might be closing for a few months now😢. Let me know if im in your log cheers.
Im in california I can hear the east coast and midwest talking with the uk. I have made very quick contacts with northern ireland and the uk in the winter december and january. The conditions have to be perfect but it is possible. I have done it with a wilson 1000 antenna and a anytone 6666 setup as a base. 73s. 211 Nothern California
Long first hop conditions at times middle east/ Turkey etc to white Russian area first bounce missing out Europe and 2 and 3 bounce into Asia and then Antipodes.... Seasons changing as well as grey lines and longer days.👁️👁️👍

Totaly agree with you there bud, certainly nice to have a day where it wasn't crazy and hear them distant stations. Hope you are well 👍
👍👍👍 Best 73 from Normandy France. Jacky 14FRS119
is it true the thunderbolt antenna can be used between 10-20 with an atu?
I can't see why it wouldn't work, but a great SWR across 11m so probably wouldn't have to tune it on 10, and it may be resonant on 20m
0:16 I bet you love getting out of town and leaving that dreadful racket behind! 👍
I certainly here alot more on my perch, but also enjoy the homebase. Cheers.
I’ve talk to you from the United States I think I’m looking back through my logbook to make sure
