The last playoff victory I remember well. The brilliance of Joe Gibbs, and big plays by the late great Sean Taylor was why the game was won. Sean Taylor had a fumble recovery for a TD in the final game of the season to clinch the playoffs too if I remember correctly.

Snyder owned the team when Gibbs made his last try in the NFL proving it really has nothing to do with the ownership----its the coaches people. The GM & ownership only fault may be not getting rid of losers sooner rather than, later. You can either coach or you can't. Most can't coach.

As a Native American Redskins fan I find the name just as racist as calling Native Americans "Indians"
There’s actually several studies that show overwhelmingly majority of Native Americans don’t find it offensive. Many of them you can read up on on any search engine.

Just like most other things that happen in the U.S., mainly people who have no idea how the culture works for a group, finds possibly offensive words towards that group, the most offensive.

Facts
Jay Gruden killed RG3 career with bad coaching and lack luster online. Never commented to him, basically set him up for failure to get his guy Kirk. The only problem the GM didnt like Kirk who's a solid QB by all measures. Now you have Haskins who Gruden appeared to be pulling another RG3 career sabotage.

What has Bruce Allen done that's so bad? Gruden wanted to keep Guice, McCoy and Allen got him Keenum. There are good players on the team but Gruden couldn't coach them. He argued with them & either ruined their careers or ran them off the team. Nope, this one's all on the coach & his staff. By the end of the season every one of the needs to be gone. Don't let them burrow into to the coaching staff. Change is good. Change is good. Change is a learning process. Change is a growth stage. If it doesn't work get rid of it don't try to fix it.

It’s the owner point blank period. I’ve been a skins fan for life and I’m TIRED!
The owner pays the bills and sometimes hires the head coach while sometimes the GM hires the head coach. The owner doesn't create game plans nor, does ownership create the culture. Its all on the head coach. He decides who takes the field, he runs the training camps, hires coaching staff & players too. The head coach also assists with the draft. The coach creates the team's attack plan. He punishes or rewards certain kinds of behavior. The head coach creates the culture. The NFL has a severe shortage of decent coaches who can win games.

We Redskin fans have known Dan Snyder hasn't been a good owner for years. RG was great for very short time but he tried to do too much. Luckily I'm old enough to remember the HOGS, The Possie , and Jack Cook.

As a Skins fan I am more than pleased that Gruden is finally outta the building. But let's not rewrite history over the coaches we let walk in keeping him here. Sean Mcvay who was a rising star was a gamble by the Rams. Who knew he would be the head coach that he turned out to be at this point. Kyle Shanahan HAD to go as he was tied to his father who was burning every bridge he could to get outta DC. And we were still on the RG3 train at that time so if Papa Shanahan was being let go, young Shanny had to go too. He wouldve been better than Gruden but he could not stay because he was brought in by his father and was part of the coaching staff that was on the Cousins bandwagon.

He is an issue, but it really took Gibbs Making us relevant again. He need tooi fire valley, but we're his hope he finds an actual good person to run the team. He seems to gravitate to toxic people with Gibbs, Zorn, and Gruden being the exception. But he didn't respect Zorn or Gruden like he did Gibbs.

I live on the west coast and I was alerted on my phone at 2 n the morning that Jay Gruden was fried. Obviously DC is n east coast so it was at 5 morning.

Its easy to say a coach is bad when the team has a poor record. Lets not forget that one season ago, the redskins had the division on lock. Smith was balling and the defense was performing extremely well. Gruden isnt a bad coach, the team is clearly in a transition period. Its unfortunate considering they dont have a terrible defense by any means (a loss to the pats is no surprise with the best defense or not).
