    It was hilarious to hear Peter "Chicken King" von Gomm in the voiceover. That Miyazaki Jidori grilled chicken looks amazing. And I never would have paired tartar sauce with chicken. I'll have to try nanban one day.

      NHK < This channel.
      i only watch NHK news for the sake of the newscasters, not so much for the content. Crazy cute newscasters is the only thing what makes NHK better. But i rather contents like such over NHK anyday.

    Thanks, John, I’d love to see more of the great standards in Japans food growing industry. Farm to table is awesome.
    I grew up eating the chickens and raw eggs my grandparents raised.

    • @onlyinjapan
      @onlyinjapan  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Thank you Aiken! It’s fascinating to me to do this series - farm to table - and to also see the replies from everyone else from around the world. I remember Rocky drinking a glass of half a dozen raw eggs for protein before a run 😂 I was shocked! Not sure we can do that nowadays unless we know where it’s sourced. My mom grew up on a farm and when I visited, it was maybe the freshest food I’d ever eaten, more flavor! Any suggestions for the next one?

    • @Aiken47
      @Aiken47 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@onlyinjapan I think there’s a couple more, pork and seafood.
      I’m fascinated by how the fresh the fish is in supermarket sashimi, sushi. Incredible quality compared with what I have access too - here it’s all frozen from overseas suppliers and you can taste the difference. I’ve never found truly fresh uni in Australia it’s always fishy.
      Pork has a bad reputation in Australia, it is often intensively farmed with only our animal welfare society setting standards not the farmers themselves, there are a few exceptions but they are just that; exceptions.

      Thank you John. I recently moved up the country from the city. My neighbor has chickens.
      So I can get fresh eggs from next door. But for a city slicker like me, its kind of don't ask, don't tell
      about the livestock! Where did it come from? I don"t want to know!
