Amanita Muscaria is the variety you seek. I believe it's endemic to siberia. It's also poisonous, so probably not a great idea to eat them. If you wanna feel 10 feet tall, you're probably better off just wearing somebody else's glasses.

Mom and I loved this!! She was telling me about how she would go looking for mushrooms when she lived in Minakami. She would go to the mountains near Fujiwara in the fall and pick mushrooms with her friend who ran Minakami onsen. Thank you so much for your episodes! We both miss Japan and are hoping to make one more trip if she stays healthy enough to travel....she will be mid 80's ❤

I didn’t know there were so many varieties of mushrooms either in Japan, no wonder they’re so relevant in some of the video games lol. I was binging the other channel and saw that you weren't apart of it anymore. Figured I'd look to see what you are up to now and I am really glad to see you are still making your quality videos. You have such a great personality for this, so I'm just happy to see you're still doing what you do best.

Excellent video as usual, John! Felt the kinokos’ cooking aroma... and already forgotten the pigeon’s being loose at your livestream, lol! 🤣 (📨🎎 onegai!)
