its worth noting, you can use the old press vest plate to craft an entire new vest in the lavatory level 2 then repeat the process of upgrading the plate and crafting with the old discarded plate, really nice recycling that makes the whole thing cost peanuts
Yeah, you can even forego the Lv4 back plate (since you can't change them) and end up with a 40k Lv4 armor that always comes back in insurance.

Dont underestimate fence this wipe. You can regularly buy 7.62x51 BCP fmj, 5.45 ps, and 7.62x54 T45 for really cheap
The dump all on Fence function has only made Fence fishing more viable.

osprey mk4 fron the flea, throw in class 4 plates (no need for sideplates). The sheer drippyness will save you from any bullet
Soon as I unlocked flea and remembered that almost all carriers were available to purchase, this has been my go-to. Fashion over function, always.

Wow, as a newer player trying to get into the game for the fourth wipe withou success, it's the first time I see a guide which not only explains the what, but the why of a budget loadout.

Rather than the SKS at level 1, I've been using the VPO-209 from Skier 1 because even without having Jaeger 1 yet you can still buy .366 FMJ rounds pretty regularly from Fence. This gives your level 1 gun A. The same 20+ pen as your SKS but also B. High enough flesh damage to 1-hit thorax when you're hitting a different hitbox besides the plates of staple armors. It can be used with 10-round 1x1 mags from Skier 1 in pockets if you bring no vest, 20-round mags from Skier 1 for a fraction of what 20-round SKS mags cost, or the 30-round mags regularly available from Fence at level 1 which at 4.2k are still less expensive than the SKS 20-round mags. Replace the stock gas tube + handguard with AK UltiMAK M1-B from Skier 1 for 2578 (less after selling back the stock one) for an ergo+recoil upgrade and ability to mount a red dot optic for much cheaper than the Bastion dust cover. The recoil re-work this patch allows the gun (even being single-fire) to be spammable in close-range encounters.
Adding to this: You can also get .366 Geska from Fence at level 1 when you don't have Jaeger yet, but that's not worth it tbh since then you don't get 20+ pen anymore. Only worth it when Fence has .366 FMJ or once you do unlock Jaeger.
And you can suppress it lv1
Also look at fence for bags. Can usually get a daypack or scav backpack for pretty cheap. Also, there are static spawns of backpacks on some of the maps. Like on customs, I've seen a scav backpack spawn resting up against the tent on 2 story side of dorms spawn point, by the fence. It doesn't spawn every time, but I've see it once every couple of raids
.366 EKO goes in the VPO-209 and VPO-215 (not 136).

Another tip is EOD starts with a grizzly and that repairs everything except blacked limbs and fit in your container with cms with 3 extra slots for ammo or an item in raid.
Mosin ammo is something you can find pretty often on fence. Just buy some LPS off of him every now and then if you wanna use a mosin.
The uley is what i used for all of my close range mosin kills and my pistol kills. Its really great for stuff like that. At the time they were 40k on the flea and literally 700 rubles to insure of something insane like that.

Look up how to make a tapco sks. Has mounts for sights and foregrips. with the new recoil changes + 20rnd mags, this is prolly the best early gun imo if you have decent 762x39 ammo lying around (PS and up). Can be fully built with just lvl 1 traders and the total cost to build is around 45-50k roubles.

I so want to get in there now when anyting goes really but I can't get sucked in or I'll think about Tarkov all through my vacation and resent it for it. Looking forward to seeing what late wipe looks like with these changes.
One thing to consider is buying the M32s early on helps more because its hard to spend money on Skiier, so it's an easy way to pump the money spent on that Trader until you unlock better things.

My concern with the M32 is that it is more restrictive on what helmets you can use it with.
Another is when topping off the SKS, unless you swap to your melee, your actually LOSING one round each time (cause you have to OPEN the action which ejects a round)

You skip the animation of loading the SKS, and you do not LOSE a bullet while doing so either.
Gigabeef, I really like the video for introducing new players.
One thing that is missing for slightly more advanced is the use of Fence, it can be a great source of ammo/bags/class3-4 armour that is unavailable till later.
For example fence can sell 7.62x54mm R T-46M gzh, in large quantities this is a 41 pen round not available till the flee market for more $.
Same for 545 Ps for cheaper than flee, AP-M , and 9x18 top teir ammo.
Class 3 DRD red packa for around 50k
I think how to use fence is really not talked about in the community very much.

Another thing to note with m-32 headset over gssh, it spends rubles with skier which is pretty nice
if you're more of a mosin man early wipe, fence has pretty good ammo for early wipe like the t-46m or fmj
Im so glad they added armor hitboxes. You dont have to hit someone directly in the nose to kill them at a low level now
Not budget but vpo-209 with tkm fmj rocked for me on my way to lvl2/flee. Once done with gunsmith 2 it´s can be a really nice kit with foregrip, suppressor, lazer and picatinny rail dust cover
Uley with 4 less slots is worth the 4 armor everywhere and the neck, also condors are like 20k and can ricochet any round, more tanky and costs less. Also Aug A3 is 42 recoil and you can put any sight on it.

I recommend always using tactical sport headsets as a budget option. Sordins if it's heavy rain and wind and you personally like cutting that ambient noise more than hearing distance.

For meds, Army Bandages are available at level 1 by getting them from Fence. The cost difference from Aseptic Bandage is negligible
Light bleeds only use 30 points out of your afak or ifac, so for budget, skip the light bleeds? Although I use em if I have em and hold one when found in raid.

at 5:01, I buy 3 half-masks from fence if he has them. Sometimes has like 40 in stock each like 3300 and you can get a paca from ragman for 10k.

With Fence, you can some ammo which isn't available at level 1, such as 7.62x54mmR.
with the audio changes a lot of the helmets with faceshields that you cant wear headset with are a lot more viable as the hearing distance between the lower tier headset and a full helmet is less then half the distance difference between the higher tier comtac 4 and the lower tier comtac 2 or gssh. the zsh-1-2m becomes available at level 2 with 2x plexi barter for the face shield giving you a level 4 helmet with a level 3 face shield that has a ricochet chance even with high pen bullets and completely covers the head and neck when prone facing a target. and at level 3 you get the 3x plexi barter for the bnti lzhz-2dtm lvl 4 face shield that can give you level 4 everywhere but the neck which is level 5. the helmet generally goes on the flee around 60-70k and with the armor changes it takes a LOT more bullets to get through those face shields now.
i have been finding the helmets give more survivability then slightly better hearing range especially against lower level players or scavs who cant pen the helmets or face shields and have to leg meta or go for armor weakspots. multiple shotgun rounds to the face just wont get through and even when it pens you often live if its at a distance or not a high damage rifle round but something like 6.3 ap or L191 with the damage drop.
and cost wise the zsh is going to be cheaper then a helmet + headset and lzhz only a bit more it depends on flee pricing at the time. the zsh having two color variants helps you find a cheap low 30k's one almost always.
sheefgg has a good video testing hearing ranges with various headsets and no headsets and player weights with patch 14
I ran shotguns early wipe and they were the shit. Basically kept a couple of the semi-autos that i found and used them for a bit. Super fun.
I find it much handier to have both bleed meds on 4 - heavy on press and light on release, 5 for healing. No matter what bleed you have it gets fixed fast and it will fix heavy first if you have one.

I like having at least two heavy bleed heals at all times as they are cheap and you get heavy bleeds way more often then light bleeds and using a medkit to fix one nukes it's healing ability
It’s my first wipe. My scav is my money and barter and my pmc is basically only for tasks. I only stay long enough and loot enough to not get a run through and it’s working really well for me

Best way to get bags is fence at the start 9 times out of 10 you can get a berkut or t20 or takedown currently.

just came back after 2 wipes and I am loving the VPO-209 again. Super budget around 55k with scope or 80k with suppressor.
I don't like using the Elcan Spectre along with a backup sight. Doing so forces you to make extra keyboard presses to move from the Spectre, then the built in iron sight, and then finally to your backup sight. The extra time it takes to do so may end up costing you your life.
I've been quite fond of the AUG A3 for my mid-tier 5.56 gun. The T4AUG Ranger suppressor is cheaper than many other 5.56 options, slap on your optic of preference and a light/laser and you're off to the races on a budget. 42 vertical recoil was nice last wipe, now this thing is a laser. It's more budget than the G36 and IMO wins out for my efficient kit 5.56 gun.
for the kedr you buy the kedr remove the 30 round mag, and then convert it to a Klin at level 1 work bench and get another 30 round mag

I just run a kedr with sp7 and any rat rig or similar. Always get it back its all trash but face taps are free and sp7 turns legs into spaggettii.
You can easily buy sport bag from fence at level one. It's better then T-bag for sure.

In order to be able to play the Uley permanently you do not have to complete the quest. The rig is available on the Flea for around 50-60k with 100% durability. In my opinion it is the best budget. Yes, it's heavy and doesn't have a lot of space, but for the price it's by far the best protection you can get.
Edit: The Thor is great armor. But you don't have to buy them from the Flea. There is a barter for 2 SDiarys from Ragman 2. SDiarys are around 35-40k on the Flea. That means without side plates but with front and back plates the armor costs 70-80k. In most cases, however, this is still far cheaper than buying it from the Flea and put new plates in it.
Ive put a lvl 6 plate in a Kirasa and I’ve gotten it back from insurance 6 times already
Fence has Tac Sports very often, if you only have access to level 1 traders, and you're willing to spend a little bit more.
I died more times than any other wipe in .14. but I have yet to have an armor that actually needed to be repaired/plate. Not sure if I'm just only getting shot in the legs and face or what. But it's been a rough wipe. Stuck on colleagues pt1.... Tried about 10 runs last night and day before.
I'm in a similar boat, I'm near insta deleted headshot in most encounters, so no time to react to whats going on. I'm running similar gear to this vid. It has been rough, but I'm also having a great time since i missed the last wipe and just getting back into it.
I like the 74U up to lvl15 because of the recoil and the fast that 5.45 is EVERYWHERE! lol
I wonder why most gurus tend to just go with 3 mags. I have been using 5 or 6 with my ak74 builds using 5.45 ps ammo. I seem to come out with scarily small amounts to bullets left after getting pummels by waves of scavs not infrequently. This was very good video btw.
Thanks! Typically I'd rather take 3 mags of good ammo stuff (and not more so I don't run out across multiple raids) and repack in the raid between fights. Rarely need 90+ bullets in one engagement
I'm new to the game so I don't know how often he'll have it but, if Fence has half-masks for sale you can buy them and do the barter with Ragman for PACAs. I don't remember how much it was but I wanna say around half-price, maybe less though.
if you wanna survive more after flea, ALWAYS buy an adrenaline and hotkey it, pop it if you survive initial contact and want an aggressive push or retreat. losing it upon death outweighs the pros

366 FMJ is my go to until I hit lvl 15, other ammo lacks penetration I would love to use 74U but 5.45x39 is sold out constantly and will not use PRS
Just have to pick it up in raid. I have thousands of rounds of PP-BT-BS-BP. And I have sold almost 2k rounds of PS at a very high price.
You should definitely try and snipe some 7.62 t46 or fmj off of fence if you dont have the flea market. imo I'm not comfortable using sp, its just not good.
the best armor right now in my opinion is the FORT REDUT-M. it got a coverage of everything with soft plates LVL 3. a bit expensive but neck protection is too important this wipe.
it's around 90-130K on flea market.
I don't take armor with soft plates LVL 2 anymore because they are absolutely useless even against shotguns.
I've been running the mmac, tbh I can't really believe it makes much difference so I might as well die in style 😎

7.62 t-45m is so easy to get on fence that it only makes the sks better, don't bother buying SP
I've been going in with just a pistol, a med kit, a bandage and pain killers, and 1 extra mag. It's dirt cheap (I die too often to risk better stuff still while I'm learning lol) and I basically run in, try to kill a scav or someone ASAP and essentially cannibalize their entire kit and then that's what I run with until I either die or make it out lmao. It's kinda fun because you never know what you'll get, will I kill someone and get a ton of gear and a machine gun, or will I kill someone and get a pair of sunglasses, a double barrel shotgun and a beer xD (exactly what happened my last attempt, and surprisingly the first time I succesfully evaced!)

Shotguns feel fairly redundant now which isn't terrible as they feel like scav weapons

New player here thus maybe a silly question. But if ammo damage and penetration is so important, why is this not shown when you Inspect the ammo?
Because BSG sucks. Basically in the game they tell you bullet weight, speed, and material composition of the projectile. If you know anything about real ballistics and ammunition you can kind of understand which should be better than another based on those three things. To actually know the mathematical stats they had to datamine the game

The sks is good cause you dont need to run a rig with it, if you want a 762x39 gun that can swap mags then just run a vepr 136
First raid of this wipe I bought the MP5K and had a 1v1 against a SKS enjoyer. He managed to use 3 bullets from his mag before my HK turned him into swiss cheese ;-)

I dont understand the buying weapons and gear, I keep playong with guns I gind in raid and from players and my stash is full. I dont think I ever ran out of guns in order to buy them

Best budget loadout is hit level 15 buy sig spear, take sig spear even if you don't have bullets for it yet and use p226r and a SIG MPX until you get ammo for sig spear.
With the low recoil theres no reason not to carry full auto capable weapons
Buy tac sports, xcels, or razors off fence for headset. M32 and Gssh have piss range and are worthless
The difference between TacSports and M32 is literally 4 meters mate, it's not that much to worry about.
Tac sports to me sound like people are shooting right next to me, M32s I can pinpoint locations a lot easier.
