The Neosteel is similar to the Tor, so they should be together in one tier... The only difference is the neck protection on the Neo in exchange for the eyes on the Tor. And Eyes is, in my opinion, muuuuch more important than neck, which can be covered by armor as well. The Neo is also more expensive even when only comparing the helmets themselves.
Need to see you do a Hat tier list now, especially when it concerns concealment. I know you covered a few here but it'd be nice to see what boonie alternatives you'd recommend.
About sniping and booneys: In RS2: Vietnam, Australians have big green booney hat that covers even arms and hands, when looking from above. There were so many times I walked by an enemy lying in the bushes without noticing, and so many times I was able to hide that way myself.
Level 100 RS2 player here. The reason why you survived and snuck behind enemy lines in RS2: Vietnam is because the ENEMY also has boonie hats as a cosmetic option, and many veterans are hesitant to shoot boonie wearers since they might end up shooting a friendly. Boonies were okay-ish as a camouflage option, though.
Helmets may ricochet on occasion but mostly they do not stop rounds. I've had so many 22 pen pistol rounds kill me to of head with every level 3 ace 4 helmet. I'm only wearing a helmet now for hearing.
The face mask and scav convo, so true. My buddy and I would purposely gear as a scav on Interchange and wait for awhile and the scav army never knew we were PMCs. We definitely have gotten a few co-op extracts out of that once they realized/we point out that we are PMCs.
I appreciate you putting the boonie in A tier because we all know the Chimera is the real S tier concealment. Good video, I also would love an in depth explanation of armor materials (I saw you said you were working on this already)

Could you do a video on armor plates? There's a ton of different armors with different HP's, materials, and weights, that have the same profile and armor class. Really the only thing that distinguishes them at a glance is the class and weight, but it'd be nice to know how the different materials and HP amounts affect them. And to know which ones I should be using over others.
i think face shields, no matter the level, can have a high psychological effect. this is coming from a relativly new player, and i do a lot of scaving because i'm still fighting the 'gear fear', but when i see a guy with a face shield as a scav or pmc i think twice aout messing with that guy. might be the time they need to get the upper hand on me when i was the one with the spotting advantage.
One last comment, I always gear up for scav protection, less than PMC protection. Scavs will always find a weakspot in your gear, but PMC's typically have better pen ammo.
I hate how they've had helmet coverings in the game forever and yet chosen (nonsensically) to keep them useless except for one specific helmet... even though in reality such helmet covers not only interchangeable/intercompatible with many other helmets, it would also be really easy to improvise some type of primitive fabric covering or ghillie-wrap - and we're in a game world where we have a hideout and a whole crafting system that would lend itself to stuff exactly like this. It would be really cool if they let us craft at least one or two general-purpose improvized helmet coverings by stitching together a couple beanies or something, giving us an option to at least cover up the bright blue of the UNTAR helmet or the bright tan of the ULACH and make them more usable given that extra step. Or maybe even cutting the liner out of the Chimera boonie hat or two to re-use the ghillie/leaf covering from it as a helmet cover with a similar look...
Just an FYI, I found the death shadow mask yesterday in a duffel bag on shoreline. Seems those bags can contain just about anything. I have found most of the rare items at least once in a duffel bag. I know a lot of people skip them when looting but they should not be skipped.
Was playing SPT (no mods which modified loot spawns at all) and I ended up finding a LEDX in a duffel bag (or maybe a med box?) at the back door of crackhouse. Since it wasnt the live server, it doesn't really matter, but it does confirm your point. Was scavving Reserve as well on the live server and got shot by a PMC in white queen. He blacked my leg and ran. I checked the nearest duffel bag directly to the right for painkillers so I could dip and leave. Full bottle of ibuprofen in it. Proceeded to have a completely normal scav raid afterwards.
Unironically, the hockey masks are not bad. My friend also wears them and never gets spotted by player scavs. He’ll go full scav though and change his outfit, but an M4 and make it look like at ADR, wear the security vest, and not wear armor. Then he screws with the player scavs
Instead of "scrambling around like mad" trying to see through a cracked face shield (in your Altyn/Rhys example), why not just press 1 button to flip it up? Call that first shot that didn't head/eyes you a win and then just treat it like a normal helmet while you're killing the person who cracked the mask. Not that running around with a cracked FS isn't a downside, but overall it seems that protection from bullets to your face, even temporarily, outweighs momentary visibility concerns.
idk about that caiman and tan ulach placement. Caiman costs too much to make lvl 2 worth when u have alternatives, especially with what u have in D i feel like its more in line with those imo. 1 quick question. I thought the AI was programmed to prioritize shooting at unarmored/unprotected areas. If that's true wouldn't that make the more coverage pieces slightly more valuable? You can make fun of me for worrying about SCAVs all you want but the next time you get Head/Eyes-ed by a dude with a shotgun just walking down the street from 80 meters away remember this.
I had a PMC walk up to me in Factory with the Brawler Helm on, stare at me, I stared at him confusing, slowly noticed his pants had a pistol holder, and his gun was stupid tricked out a second to late, he head shot me the minute I noticed.
With the amount of times I've been head, eyes, head jaws and everything else under the sun - I legit run the TK Fast so I can put RAC's on them. Helms have not saved me once this patch.
The tan ULACH and the UN Helmet are actually pretty decent with snow as long as you're planning to play outside. In the snow both blue and beige show less than the olive green of most helmets so for the first time they are genuinely worth putting on your head. Just dont got inside, once in the shadows you're a glowing bright target.
Another bonus with the tagilla mask is its flash bang protection of 65% really useful when your trying to get your flash bang kills for the quest you can just tank flash bangs
I ran with the tan Ulach on 3 consecutive raids, I made it out once but very beat up. I sold it and I'm not going to pick it up anymore. But thanks for this list, the trooper facemask does have that effect. An express shot to the face shattered my confidence and never bought it again.
The one thing the Airsoft replica Fast MT has is it’s a super cheap way to get a light on your head. Granted, for just a bit more you can get a ratnik or something
TBH - the kolpac riot shield with face mask made my stirrup WAY easier, it blocks all the bullets everyone is using at that point in the wipe; I blocked multiple rounds multiple times (I think 3 max) to the faceshield and ended up killing the other guy with my pistol. got the quest done in 2 factory raids because of it.
i love your in-depth tier lists and it has helped me a lot, this is my first full wipe and i was wondering if you could do a tier list for headphones. reading a lot of forms and other tutorials and sometimes it feels subjective. I've seen other streamers hype a specific headphone but according to what I've read and watched that headphone would be mid tier
Trooper mask i think can be pushed up one tier if you use it with NVGs since you can't wear most face shield with NVGs. That is mostly what i use it for and it has saved more then a few time from rat AI scavs at night.
During testing, did you test whether or not the HJELM actually covers the Nape or not. It only says the armor area is Head Top. But there is clearly Nape armor on the helmet.
15:25 This one HAS to be higher. You gotta take the ammo rebalancing into account. Granted, at this point most people use bullets that penetrate Tier 4, but even then it's not 100%. 37 pen is just like what 60% penetration chance on the first bullet?
Great video! Loved to see the boonie as A tier, but you forgot the Chimera boonie hat that should be in S tier, I only use hats, and the chimera is amazing, saved me a lot of times, wish I could use the LLCS with headphones
I have this thing where I'm cursed by default, but the curse of the Tan ULAUCH somehow reverses it. like how two negative numbers multiply together into a positive.
Airwing refer to Gigabeef’s “ricochet testing” video from a year ago When you layer all those face protections with (for example) the airframe You actually (at least used to) supersede some of your own protections - at least that what it seems like When they tested pen vs ricochet with APSX - when the subject wore condors for example it tested the class 1 protection and when it penned it ignored the trooper or other heavier masks / shields - it just penned the condors So may be something you revisit with the new hit boxes and “layered” system of the plates possibly making stacked protection more viable Thanks
Me personally the leaf hat from Ragman is absolutely the best thing to put in your head considering I’ve ricocheted some type around off of it, even though it doesn’t have an armor level and I was so cunfused
It has a weird render problem at distance. From far away it ends up looking just like a helmet so it doesn't break up your silhouette all that well like the boonie does.
My favorite mobility focus head ware is black beret. It’s change my head shape not reflect any light source. For protection black Ullac is my choice. Eye and jaw still unprotected but 70% of my head are protected is enough.
Devtac would have been a solid B tier, but somehow bsg noticed it had no sound muffling and early this wipe they nerfed it adding sound muffling. Went from hearing everything to only hear ppl halfway down an escalator around the corner on interchange.
29:15 Impressive. would expect a player scav to be able to identify you for not wearing scav clothing but I guess not everyone watches that carefully. Personally I would be friendly anyway sinceI run maps with scav + PMC extracts and I like to gamble for it.

Another bonus with the tagilla mask is its flash bang protection of 65% really useful when your trying to get your flash bang kills for the quest you can just tank flash bangs
The addition of solid and camo helmet coverings would not only be realistic, but also solve tan ulach issue
Found the NeoSteel on my very first GZ raid this wipe. Was a magical experience being the drip king for the next 3 raids.
thank you so much for everything you do!
Thanks! Very informative.
You are thinking perfect as ı do. Perfect video . Thanks for your opinions.
Can’t wait to see my friends reaction when we load up for interchange and they see me rocking the pumpkin
Great informative content!
Excellent video. Great descriptions, information, and funny. Sub. Scribed
The goon mask got cut a little bit but I get what you were probably saying 🤙🏼 keep up the content, my friends and I really enjoy it!
"Don't bring a toy to a gunfight." -Wam Bam Slam Sam.
Great video. I think if you can put a beight orange jack-o-lantern in S tier, you can put the tan Ulach there too though
very interesting, even if i don't really have much time to play seriously anymore, i still like watching TH-cam videos about the game
i love your in-depth tier lists and it has helped me a lot, this is my first full wipe and i was wondering if you could do a tier list for headphones. reading a lot of forms and other tutorials and sometimes it feels subjective. I've seen other streamers hype a specific headphone but according to what I've read and watched that headphone would be mid tier
The one time I ran a vulcan, I got one tapped by a mosin with snb to the head. This was during the mosin era, when snb was widely available, though.
You are missing the best part of the new Tor-2 Helmet you can wear Comtacs with it and it comes with a face shield.
Thanks, newbie here, really needed this
LOVE THE CONTENT!
Tor 2 is mid game god tier, face shield, ears and headset, face shield available from vendor
GDI AIRWING! I've been running around with brawlers and boonies for the past two wipes!
Liked this video because i didn't have to skip to the actual content
Door kicker is one of my favorites, similar to the boonie in the way it conceals you, and you get to feel like Captain Price
My friend watching you put the shattered mask at E after he watched 3 ap 6.3 bounce off some dude face is gold
Did not test that specifically no. Thanks for pointing it out, I'll pass it along to BSG so it gets corrected/fixed.
@@Airwingmarine you are the man! Yut yut!
15:25 This one HAS to be higher. You gotta take the ammo rebalancing into account. Granted, at this point most people use bullets that penetrate Tier 4, but even then it's not 100%. 37 pen is just like what 60% penetration chance on the first bullet?
Also don't forget the Tor-2 also lets you put a faceshield on while wearing a headset. kinda goated early.
Airsoft Helmet + SLAAP plate will forever be a goated combo. Saved my ass on Labs so many times lol
Great video! Loved to see the boonie as A tier, but you forgot the Chimera boonie hat that should be in S tier, I only use hats, and the chimera is amazing, saved me a lot of times, wish I could use the LLCS with headphones
Shattered mask in E is kinda wild
Good tested content as all ways
I have this thing where I'm cursed by default, but the curse of the Tan ULAUCH somehow reverses it. like how two negative numbers multiply together into a positive.
Tan ULACH is a blessing. I swear to god that thing bounces M80 when a black ULACH doesn’t do shit sometimes. Both helmets are goated.
The scav hockey masks for sure deserve to be in s teir, i was hoping you out them there.
Airwing refer to Gigabeef’s “ricochet testing” video from a year ago
When you layer all those face protections with (for example) the airframe
You actually (at least used to) supersede some of your own protections - at least that what it seems like
When they tested pen vs ricochet with APSX - when the subject wore condors for example it tested the class 1 protection and when it penned it ignored the trooper or other heavier masks / shields - it just penned the condors
So may be something you revisit with the new hit boxes and “layered” system of the plates possibly making stacked protection more viable
Thanks
The scav bit about the tank helm. Priceless. 😅
"You might hear a story of that one guy who bounced a m61 round (...wearing Shattered Face Mask)" - I have personal experience with this. Last wipe on Lighthouse PMC was in one of front towers of Water Treatment and I shot them with M700 from around 40 meters. Bounced and he killed me. Good times
Any helmet is better than no helmet. I still remember the time a Kolpak scav bounced my 995.
