I started following Spurs in 2nd division days 78 and like it said we always took the piss at Arsenal.I remember 1979 at Highbury we had all the clock end and half the Northbank fighting them in their own end until they spilled onto the pitch,Best time to be a Yid.

Speaking of fans that actually reside in the city......Back in the 90's I (and my wife), lived on Carlton Avenue, which was off Maine Road. Our back gates opened up onto the Kippax stand. On match days, we weren't allowed to leave our back gates open because they opened outwards and would get in the way of the mounted police. Some of our neighbours on Carlton Avenue actually built little "platforms" on the roofs of their house so they could watch the match for free! This was in the late 80's / early 90's though, and Man City were going through a bit of a rough patch. Still, wonderful memories :)

Naively, as a 17 year old West Ham supporter in the 67/68 season, i got spat on by a Leeds United supporter close to Elland Road. I took a swing at the perpetrator and got a kicking for my trouble being set upon by a few Leeds supporters. I was rescued by a couple of WHU fans. That was the last time i went to an away match on my own. Sweet memories of the 60s and 70s.

I am in my 7th decade of attending Millwall matches and next May,I enter my 8th decade. I need to make a couple of salient points about Millwall fans. Firstly, while you are correct about the intense rivalries between West Ham and Leeds, their rivalry with Palace is nowhere near that level and there is little or no rivalry with nearby, Charlton. As for NOT taking the knee. Of course NOT as the BLM was purely a money-making organization created and taking advantage of the George Floyd PROTESTS Millwall fans applaud equality in all its forms but not the Marxist BLM. In better news, the former penniless Co-Founder of BLM now lives in a $1.4 Million residence in a largely white neighbourhood in The USA............

Yes l agree with your list but l would put Liverpool as number one. While the true English residents of Liverpool fort in both wars their jobs were taken by Irish immigrants and of course many of the soldiers did not return to claim their jobs back. So you have a foreign group in a England city also made up of anti English Scots and Welsh. Moreover the same basically is happening in London right now where the English are the minority replaced by people who hate the country. We had scousers move in to our area during the 90s because they wanted to be on the dole by the sea. They got given houses and all the crime in the town right now stems from them.

Liverpool were also hated because of Heysel - English clubs were banned from Europe because of it.
Being a West Ham fan - You just have a special loathing for Millwall - the rivalry is political, as the Millwall fans in 1926 scabbed on the docks during the General Strike, whilst West Ham fans in the East End docks stayed out.
The special hatred though belongs to Man U. The most whiniest, whingiest fans in existence, whose sense of entitlement is only exceeded by Tories.

You make some good points especially regarding Liverpool and the fact they are "Scouse Not English" and that recently fans from all over the country started to despise their fans for booing the silence for the Queen, when she died. You failed to mention that they are also despised because of Heysel and the subsequent ban for ALL English clubs. Everton were prevented from playing in the European Cup because of Liverpool fans.
However some of your statements are just false. You only have to live in or around Manchester to know that United fans in Manchester outnumber City by a very large margin. So wherever you got your stats, you are definitely wrong! But you are right that the number 1 reason that United are disliked is because they have had so much success and this obviously annoys fans of teams who have lost out to them.
Travelling all over the UK with work and having lived in the North, Midlands and South East my best guess at which club's FANS are most hated in June 2024 I'd say 1. Liverpool ( and by some distance) 2. Leeds United. 3. Chelsea.
ps. I also agree with the poster below. Liverpool are the media darlings in this country and the media fall over themselves to be nice about them!

I think.Liverpool fans are wrong to boo the national anthem. I'm Irish and would never disrespect any countries anthen let alone my own. I can see how it would turn other fans off them as a fanbase. Also must be hard for Liverpool fans that dont agree with booing their own anthem. They must be disgusted with that.

Delighted to see the Red Devils on top of this list.
I doubt that I can properly convey my utter loathing for Man Utd, but here goes:
    - first time I ever saw a clip of a Man Utd game was their fans invading their own pitch in Apr 1974 when they went 0:1 down to Man City. Trying to get the game abandoned so they wouldn’t be relegated.
    - Roy Keane & his cronies surrounding the referee at every opportunity, trying to influence his decisions. Apparently this was a tactic Fergie brought with him from Aberdeen. Other clubs started copying this and it became the norm. The damage done to the game, worldwide, in terms of behaviour towards match officials and their leaving the game in droves, especially at junior level, is incalculable.
    - Glory hunting. I recently met a guy from Bournemouth. Man Utd ‘supporter’. He didn’t even know Bournemouth were in the Premier League.
    - ‘Fergie Time’.
    - Overwhelming sense of entitlement displayed by their fans.
    I could go on.

My pal (RIP Abbo) replied " how do you fancy having to watch them every week" He then realised we were CITY fans and he apologised and we replied "No, you're right they are shit, but we still follow them everywhere" About them clapping the keeper, Joe Corrigan wasn't clapped in '81 when he was hit by a bottle thrown from the kop. #Africanexpert
You have NFI... You must be a Chelsea "fan".
Chelsea is also in the Top 5 because most of their "fans" are plastic bandwagon gloryhunters and some of their match-attending supporters are racists.
As is Chelsea's most successful captain, John Terry.
The reality is, if Abhramovic had bought Fulham, you'd be a f**king Fulham fan = FACT!
