Lately all I've been thinking about is that Rose knew everything that was going to happen to her. She probably created Bad Wolf Bay (idk, I like the theory) and she saw everything she was going to go through with ten. And then she forgot. I will never not love this show.
I agree with that. Also I think she made Jack Immortal on purpose for 2 reasons. First he had to find the hand for the meta crisis. Without the creation of the meta crisis the reality bomb would’ve happened. And secondly to continue protecting the Doctor long after she was gone. The thin spot came out at bad wolf bay both times. I think as bad wolf she knew the meta crisis doctor would need her around to be able to cope with the changes.
Bad Wolf is quite possibly the most powerful adversary the Universe had. She decimated the Daleks by looking at them, dividing their atoms across existence itelf.
@Toxik Deth Nothing's more powerful than Bad Wolf. Besides, IF they had weapons more powerful than something that can alter Time and Space, AND reality itself... then they 100% would have used it. And don't say "The Moment" because that's quite literally something Bad Wolf is originated around anyway, and thus it's not more powerful, but rather something the Bad Wolf had created.
Only just realised that in atomising them, Rose successfully did to the Daleks what the Daleks tried to do unsuccessfully to everything at the end of series 4 and that suddenly makes the story arc about the connection between Rose and the Daleks even more complete than it already was. Another reason why RTD was such a good showrunner
The “I want you safe, my doctor” is one of the best lines and I feel like it’s both Rose and the TARDIS saying it. I love it. Also Rose is the best companion. She not only is directly responsible for the 9th regenerating into the 10th but she made him more human and helped him with the PTSD he had.
This scene will always be my absolute favourite; alongside Clara entering The Doctor’s time-stream and seeing all the past incarnations she has tried to help (but inevitably failed). Whenever we hear Bad Wolf there are instant chills in the air...just like Season 4 when Rose finally met The Doctor again. Excited about the new audioplay with Rose and her family dimension-hopping in order to find The Doctor pre-Season 4 finale.
1:59 As she could see the whole of time and space, she would have seen the events of the 50th anniversary, perhaps it was here that she created the “moment” and allowed Gallifrey to be held in a “pocket world”, and helped the Time War to end. This could also be used in future series where perhaps the Bad Wolf is involved in future storylines, as she would have seen all futures, in every parallel universe.
honestly i hope one day they revist the bad wolf in a different point in time rampaging through the stars between the moment of her creation and the doctor saving her
Just watched this episode last night and this scene is my favorite of the entire show. Rose was the heart of Doctor Who. Still can't decide who I like more as the Doctor, though, Eccleston or Tennant. Tough call, that, as both were superb but each brought different things to the table.
My theory is that in those few minutes when she was one with the time vortex, Rose lived forever. I also think that when the War Doctor tried to detonate that bomb to destroy his homeworld, it was not the bomb's interface that appeared, it was Rose. She saw what the Doctor had done in the past and how much it hurt him, so she prevented him from killing everyone on his homeworld by nudging him in the right direction. She changed the past and saved him from committing genocide.

Bad wolf/rose only interferes when there's a reality ending event that can't be stopped without her interference, even if it's occasionally just a heads up or a tiny nudge like in turn left.

This was in many ways the last act of the Bad Wolf before Rose returned to normal, she ended the Time War completely, by saving Gallifrey and creating The Day of the Doctor. Rather than making the world kneel before her and worship her as a goddess she instead restored Gallifrey, ending the Time War and saving the lives of billions.

One of the best, because it was just a great finish to an storyarc that defined the show, and because of that it was also the worst episode. Because the loss of his home, the guilt the doctor felt when he (thought) that he had destroyed it, commiting genocide against his own race and the rage he felt towards the Darleks forcing him to do so, those were basically core charactertraits of the doctor, what drove him to do better, what made him who he was. After that episode, that was all gone. Personally i think that would have been a great final episode for the show. And it would have saved us from Chibnall and Whittaker running the show into the ground...
Fan theory ( mine) because the Doctor took all the Time Vortex energy from Rose into himself that is why every regeneration since is so explosive. In the past every regeneration the Doctor went through was like falling asleep( also because they didn't have the cool regeneration special effects in the 80s). Just my theory. What a great scene!Everything about this scene makes Doctor Who the great show that it was and will be again.

“You can’t control life and death!” “But I can.” That’s the part of this scene I find most haunting. The whole “you’re seeing all of time and space, your brain is going to burn up” is almost too fantastical to imagine. But who amongst us wouldn’t be so incredibly tempted by the fact that we could save literally everyone everywhere across time and space, everyone we cared about, care about, or will care about?
What Rose did in 4 minutes (extraverted feeling) The Doctor couldn't do for 10 seasons, because of squishy Time Lord political correctness (values, introverted feeling).

Rose essentially became a goddess of time for a few minutes. she was built different. The only moment that had a fragment of this power was the Doctordonna, a human with the mind of a timelord. No one human being is meant to hold the entirety of time and space. That's why timelords exist in this world. They're the only species able to withstand the sorrow, joy, and pain of watching everything pass.
Im just going to say 9 and Rose had such amazing chemistry. I love 10 but I feel like 9 and rose were IT. This was probably my favorite scene and episode too. So cool. They were freakin beautiful.
The "Hand of Omega" = "Nemesis" = "Tardis Time Vortex" = "The Moment". The Tardis' core time vortex is really the Nemesis but it's control AI is Rose Tyler. Later the Nemesis would become "The Moment" and its OS is Rose Tyler. So the first imprint of Rose Tyler mind into "The Moment" happened after the Bad Wolf destroys the Dalek God and the energies of the Time Vortex was transferred to the Doctor&back into the Tardis. In the 7th Doctor's encounter of Nemesis, it already knows the Doctor due to Rose Tyler's mind in it.
this is what i bring up whenever someone tries to tell me rose isnt the best companion. she not only stared into the vortex, she absorbed it and channeled it, name a better companion feat, spoiler, you cant.
I accept your challenge! It is true that Rose did absorb time vortex, however this victory against the Daleks would mean nothing, because of the Great Intelligence jumping into Doctor's time stream and trying to destroy it. It's only because of Impossible Girl, that it Clara Oswald that it was possible for Rose to become Bad Wolf, so that she would destroy the Daleks. In conclusion Clara did so much more that Rose Tyler herself.
Makes me think of a scenario where there is no hope left, the biggest threat ever has arrived and nothing, not even the Doctor can stop it. The only option remaining is for the Doctor to open the TARDIS and take the power of the Vortex himself and become a Vengeful God as he describes. "She opened the heart of the TARDIS and looked into the Time Vortex itself. No-one's ever meant to have that power. If a Time Lord did that, he'd become a god, a vengeful god. But she was human."
Time Travel Guidelines 1. Do not travel back to time periods that existed before time machine was built. 2. Travel 5 year's into future. 3. Only watch history for 1 minute. 4. Travel back to time you just left. 5. Do not use information about future.
When you think about it, the Doctor had the heart of the TARDIS in him. He could have brought back the Timelords and Gallifrey! But he didn’t he choose to save Rose and put Sexy back were she belongs! Thats really out there right!
You see the power Rose wields, then you see the Doctor calmly take it, internalise it and send it back where it belongs. Even the raw power of the time Vortex is not enough to corrupt or overwhelm him. It's the first time you see the true power of the Doctor not hidden behind witty repartie, silliness etc, which is what he uses to stop people being utterly terrified of him.
I have a headcanon where Bad Wolf uses the Time Vortex to connect to the Moment within the Time Locked Events of the Time War itself to change the Doctor’s fate by showing her the future necessary to convince the Doctor to save Gallifrey instead of burn it. The Moment, recognizing Bad Wolf agrees to help her save the Doctor, the man who decides the fate of the Time Lords, from his biggest regret in all of history, while also allowing him to share this lesson with others, helping them find a better way. Thoughts??

I always thought that they could have injected a little humor here, something like the Doctor asking Rose just before she passes out, "Hey, how did you open the console? It would have taken a lorry (truck) to open that console!" Rose: "I used a lorry (truck)." Doctor: "Ah."
Something tells me that it isn't Rose talking. It's like Time itself wanted to help the Doctor, and used Rose as a vessel for the fleeting moment. Everything was according to plan.
I've always believed that the Tardis chose Rose because she's the only companion who loved the doctor the same way the Tardis does. She's not my favorite companion, but she was a very special one.

He was abusing knowledge that let him create a infinite chain reaction without control planning to survive by hiding in a naturally formed safe zone. Rose had perfect control and could have done whatever she wanted. Including inserting herself into the Time war as the consciousness of the ultimate weapon/as the ultimate weapon itself completely unnoticed.
I would have loved for Christopher Eccleston to have carried on in his role as the Doctor. The first Series of new Doctor Who is fantastic but we probably wouldn't have got David Tennant if Christopher had stayed.

I really like this episode paired with Journey's End. Rose has the power of the gods here, and the Dalek's recreate that for their reality bomb.

Rose essentially became a goddess of time for a few minutes. she was built different. The only moment that had a fragment of this power was the Doctordonna, a human with the mind of a timelord. No one human being is meant to hold the entirety of time and space. That's why timelords exist in this world.
They're the only species able to withstand the sorrow, joy, and pain of watching everything pass.

Im just going to say 9 and Rose had such amazing chemistry. I love 10 but I feel like 9 and rose were IT. This was probably my favorite scene and episode too. So cool. They were freakin beautiful.
The "Hand of Omega" = "Nemesis" = "Tardis Time Vortex" = "The Moment". The Tardis' core time vortex is really the Nemesis but it's control AI is Rose Tyler. Later the Nemesis would become "The Moment" and its OS is Rose Tyler. So the first imprint of Rose Tyler mind into "The Moment" happened after the Bad Wolf destroys the Dalek God and the energies of the Time Vortex was transferred to the Doctor&back into the Tardis. In the 7th Doctor's encounter of Nemesis, it already knows the Doctor due to Rose Tyler's mind in it.
this is what i bring up whenever someone tries to tell me rose isnt the best companion. she not only stared into the vortex, she absorbed it and channeled it, name a better companion feat, spoiler, you cant.
I accept your challenge! It is true that Rose did absorb time vortex, however this victory against the Daleks would mean nothing, because of the Great Intelligence jumping into Doctor's time stream and trying to destroy it. It's only because of Impossible Girl, that it Clara Oswald that it was possible for Rose to become Bad Wolf, so that she would destroy the Daleks. In conclusion Clara did so much more that Rose Tyler herself.
I will always love seeing Daleks crap some very big bricks.

Now with the end of series 12, this scene makes you wonder if, the timeless child event of the Doctor is not now connected with this.

Theory: when the doctor dies he will become the time vortex
This was actually my very first episode of Dr. Who, and is straight up the reason I fell in love with the show.

Makes me think of a scenario where there is no hope left, the biggest threat ever has arrived and nothing, not even the Doctor can stop it. The only option remaining is for the Doctor to open the TARDIS and take the power of the Vortex himself and become a Vengeful God as he describes.
"She opened the heart of the TARDIS and looked into the Time Vortex itself. No-one's ever meant to have that power. If a Time Lord did that, he'd become a god, a vengeful god. But she was human."

This was heart wrenching what a fantastic end to the first series. "It hurts" makes me cry every time! Who wouldn't want what Rose had just gained.
Jack was a mortal man with a mortal lifespan. Until the Doctor. Then next time we see him, he had lived so long his life was so convoluted.
Thanos: "I am inevitable!"
Rose Tyler: "And I am the Bad Wolf."
Time Travel Guidelines
1. Do not travel back to time periods that existed before time machine was built.
2. Travel 5 year's into future.
3. Only watch history for 1 minute.
4. Travel back to time you just left.
5. Do not use information about future.
I think the best part is she's completely lost in the sauce of her power. It's only the Doctor who pulls her from the edge, back to herself.
Christopher Ecclestone would have been Fantastic with a longer run. Amazing doctor!
When you think about it, the Doctor had the heart of the TARDIS in him. He could have brought back the Timelords and Gallifrey! But he didn’t he choose to save Rose and put Sexy back were she belongs!

Rose is inevitable
Everyone should be afraid of the big Bad Wolf.
You see the power Rose wields, then you see the Doctor calmly take it, internalise it and send it back where it belongs. Even the raw power of the time Vortex is not enough to corrupt or overwhelm him. It's the first time you see the true power of the Doctor not hidden behind witty repartie, silliness etc, which is what he uses to stop people being utterly terrified of him.
I have a headcanon where Bad Wolf uses the Time Vortex to connect to the Moment within the Time Locked Events of the Time War itself to change the Doctor’s fate by showing her the future necessary to convince the Doctor to save Gallifrey instead of burn it. The Moment, recognizing Bad Wolf agrees to help her save the Doctor, the man who decides the fate of the Time Lords, from his biggest regret in all of history, while also allowing him to share this lesson with others, helping them find a better way.

Why bother with convincing Time Lords to give Doctor more regenerations. It is highly probable that she herself gave the new regeneration cycle.

I always thought that they could have injected a little humor here, something like the Doctor asking Rose just before she passes out, "Hey, how did you open the console? It would have taken a lorry (truck) to open that console!" Rose: "I used a lorry (truck)." Doctor: "Ah."

Something tells me that it isn't Rose talking. It's like Time itself wanted to help the Doctor, and used Rose as a vessel for the fleeting moment. Everything was according to plan.
I've always believed that the Tardis chose Rose because she's the only companion who loved the doctor the same way the Tardis does. She's not my favorite companion, but she was a very special one.
"Electrical energy miss taylor, every atom in existence is bound by an electrical field, the reality bomb cancels it out - structure falls apart." So Davros created a power that almost matched the power of Rose in this form BY HIMSELF. Let that sink in...
He was abusing knowledge that let him create a infinite chain reaction without control planning to survive by hiding in a naturally formed safe zone. Rose had perfect control and could have done whatever she wanted. Including inserting herself into the Time war as the consciousness of the ultimate weapon/as the ultimate weapon itself completely unnoticed.

I would have loved for Christopher Eccleston to have carried on in his role as the Doctor. The first Series of new Doctor Who is fantastic but we probably wouldn't have got David Tennant if Christopher had stayed.
The second she said, "You are tiny" I was in for the long haul with this show. Still a fan.
