    I guess that after tampering with the water supply, the application of FEV would follow social customs, such as taking showers or baths. They also ingested it by food and since it's a viral nature, it could remain dormant until it reached a proper host to thrive from. What I really wonder was if at the early stage of infections, when roads weren't blocked and people from other towns came by, if these "hosts" managed to carry the FEV virus to other locations and somehow, repeat the cycle that happened in Huntersville or, at least, made some random families change into Super Mutants. Now, that's a frightening and perplexing thought!!!

    • @quagmoe7879
      @quagmoe7879 ปีที่แล้ว

      The FEV isn’t contagious like that. It can’t spread from person to person. They would have to be directly exposed to the FEV repeatedly in order for anything to happen. That’s the entire reason they had to infect the water supply rather than just infecting a couple people and letting it spread.

    And I gotta say, it is amazing and beautiful. It's definitely worth throwing in the extra like $5 for a "premium T" it feels so soft :) I should be getting the rest of my stuff including a "It was rigged from the start" T-shirt.
    A "Patrolling the Mojave makes you wish for a nuclear Winter" Hoodie (cause that has to be a hoodie, for winter Duh)
    And a "The burned man walks" T-shirt, all premium, all black.
    I already got a "Who are you who does not know your history" T-shirt and a "Protect the people at a minutes notice" Hoodie for Christmas.

      TREXSTER BLACK yes, same here. Though I would like to read all of it myself, but I get stressed out because there is just so much to read sometimes and the respawning of enemies does not take that long. Pluss sometimes you will get to a place and someone has been there before, killing all the enemies, and you have no idea how long it will take before they all respawn. Im also playing it on ps4 and I suck at using controllers to aim and shoot instead of keyboard and mouse. It also feels like even though I shoot stuff at a distance that shouldnt be able to miss, It still does 😫 One time I was standing straight infront of a super mutant and blastibg it full of shotgun shells, it hardly took any damage and ended up killing me. So I ragequit and havent played it since 😂

      @@voodoobaby3256 yea, since the game is always online there can be input lag on a lot of your interactions in the game, like dealing damage and picking up items, and it also can make enemies teleport around when moving. Its super annoying, I wish I could choose to play this offline so everything would just work...

    • @voodoobaby3256
      @voodoobaby3256 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex VanDover yeah I know. I wish too that I could play it online because right now I havent played since desember/january. And I was pretty positive to the whole idea, even the fact that there are no human NPCs and that you have to read letters and terminals to get lore etc. But it is annoying as hell when I clear out a place and it takes too long to do so, so when Im about to read whatever I need to read the enemies have respawned. It makes me not enjoy the game and the fact that last time I stood right infront of a super mutant, emptying my shotgun in him, while he took almost no damage, but he proceeds to kill me, made me just ragequit instantly. Im not a high level, but with the amount of shotgun shells I put in him should have been enough to kill at least six mutants. And it wasn’t long before that that I was in a small village, filled with mutants that just kept on spawning in like crazy without there being a «special spot» for anything like that. I hope they implement an offline option or that you can put up a private server because I want to get my moneys worth and play the game, but not how it is like now. Plus Bethesda have taken a huge dump on their fans ever since they launched the game. From the whole canvas bag thing to saying there will be no microtransactions with enhanced equipement and then doing a 180 and implementing it. Its just sad, I like Bethesda alot, just the modding community for TES and Fallout are amazing. And I totally understand why people are afraid of what is going to happen with TES6, Im starting to get worried also.

    • @hammyofdoom8355
      @hammyofdoom8355 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t play 76 for a variety of reasons, biggest one is that enemies health lags. You shoot them, and their health goes down 3 seconds later. And, often times the health just jumps back up. The games base systems don’t function, and there’s a myriad of other issues the game brings.

    You know the opening scene of Fallout 4 when the military are going through a street of a town? It may be the military arriving in Huntersville and the Sole Survivor was there before the war and left maybe to fight in Alaska or retired from the military.If the Sole Survivor was in Alaska,he may be the same soldier you play as in the Operation Anchorage DLC. After all,in the game he is called a war hero in the game.

Aside from making oneself a suitable CAMP to live in, really the only thing to do is archaeology, craft weapons/armour with which to defend oneself against the 'natives.' And eventually launch nukes regularly once you've done enough archaeology.

  • @UbinTimor
    @UbinTimor 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    To me it doesn't make sense that the people of Huntersville would have gone crazy from absorbing FEV. The reason why most of the mutants you fight in the wasteland are crazy is because if someone who is genetically damaged by radiation is dipped in a vat of FEV the damage to their DNA causes the subject to morph horrifically due to the virus needing a pure DNA sample in order to provide the positive effects.
    The reason why there are intelligent super-mutants in the wasteland, is because those mutants originated from people that weren't damaged by radiation. That's the main reason why the super-mutant army was breaking into vaults and capturing Vault citizens. the people in the vaults had the purest DNA, because they were shielded from the radiation making them the perfect super-mutants when dipped in FEV.
    So why are people who haven't been exposed to a damaging amount of radiation turning into brainless super-mutants who can't control themselves and go crazy? shouldn't the super-mutants of fallout 76 be as smart as the ones in Fallout New Vegas or even smarter-all things considered?

    Going in with Perception 2 would have got you a joke line about tripping over the corpse and finding it's 'contents' by accident.

    I know this is a late comment but if the virus was in the water then ever time the towns folk had a bath or shower they would be exposing their skins to the virus and hence become infected, maybe that’s why the infection took so long to take hold and while they eventually just dipped people in vats of the stuff to speed up the process. Anyway love your content, helps me to spend more time playing and less time reading terminals.

    At the 11:18 time mark... Sgt. ORLANDO Garrett.... there is an Orlando that was introduced in the Fallout 76 The Pitt update who is the current manager of the Whitesprings and is letting all those new Responders live in the Whitesprings. There are STRONG suspicions among fans that Orlando is secretly an Enclave agent (but is it part of the Modus version of the Enclave where Modus is keeping that Orlando's Enclave role a secret from us? Or the California oil rig Enclave where Orlando somehow traveled from there to the Whitesprings?). While more about Orlando might be revealed in the upcoming Atlantic City update (late 2023 or early 2024), could Sgt. Orlando Garrett be the same Orlando as the one currently in Whitesprings?
    The Orlando in Whitesprings looks to be in their mid-30's, but some people in their mid to late 40's look young for their age. If Orlando was present at Huntersville, they could be as young as 19 since an army Sargent could be that young if they have extra qualifications (and special connections help as well) and they are currently a young looking 44 years old now at the Whitesprings.
    It's POSSIBLE the Enclave working with West Tek secretly sent Orlando to Huntersville to replace Sgt. Bianchi (because Sgt. Jake Bianchi got removed from his position and court martialed when he start raising concerns) so the new Sarge, Orlando Garrett, takes over the operation so it goes the way the Enclave and West Tek want it to go (while giving West Tek as much power as possible so they can do what they need to do, as approved by the Enclave). Also, while Orlando at the WhiteSprings might not look threatening, there is evidence in their dialouge to suggest they have journeyed the wasteland and know how to take care of themselves and while they act very polite and super happy 99% of the time, there is a moment if you hang around them long enough where they show a lot of ANGER when they realize someone keeps messing up some of the WhiteSprings carpet with their muddy boots (the type of anger a former army sargant would show). Anyway, while many of the new Responders and other humans like Esme the cook at the WhiteSprings all love Orlando, some of the new Responders have raised concerns that while Orlando seems nice, they wonder if there are alternate reasons for why Orlando is helping them and allowing them to stay at the WhiteSprings. Then there is the SECRET owners of the WhiteSprings who employ Orlando... who Orlando refers to as "Mr.Otis"... Mr.Otis = Modus????

    Other people have probably said this before me, but each townsperson would have been "dipped" in the FEV-infected water whenever they had a bath or shower. The FEV would absorb through the skin that way anyway.
    Honestly given how biology and viruses work, its likely consuming FEV will have a similar effect as dipping. Its still getting into the blood and tissues from the digestive tract. I suppose it depends whether FEV can survive being boiled, cooked and the acid from the stomach. Given what we've heard about it I'd guess its a tough little critter that could survive the stomach at least.

    On an unrelated lore in 76, I found somewhat of a cult like type people trying to separate themselves from society. They planned to live off the land and soon after the bombs fell. They kept going on like normal, only noting some problems like finding food to hunt, and fresh water to drink.
    One guy, who's guarding at night says he hears things at night and swears he sees something fast moving through the woods. No one believed him till they had a party in their mess hall, where something broke through the window and pulled someone through it. Straight out of a horror film. I won't spoil the rest, but I'm sure some of you already know what this fast creature is.

I appreciate all the work you put into your videos and for someone who's first fallout game is 76. Your videos has gotten me up to speed on a lot of fallouts lore. But there is something I wanted to point out about the garden gnomes and even some of the teddy bears. Its seems Bethesda really enjoys placing gnomes or bears in really weird places doing really strange things as if they have a will of there own. Just over the weekend I was playing and a couple of times I've seen bears playing poker in a dog house. Gnomes standing over corpses as if they murdered the person. Almost makes me wonder if maybe there is more to them then we realised. Of course I'm sure it's just Bethesda meaning around and having fun with Easter eggs and jokes. But sometimes they seem a little to deliberate or out of places in certain areas.

    Oxhorn is choosing to show us that there are incredibly interesting breadcrumbs and tales told by many locations if you'd just take the time and have the interest.
    That what he's about.
    And he's freaking great at making stories fascinating.
    So though he could make a video about how annoyed he might be that there are no 'npc's, no one to populate your settlement, like EVERY OTHER TH-cam gaming channel.
    He made a video on Fallout lore, which is what he does and what most of his viewers subscribed for.
    So can we please just stop moaning about how bad Fallout 76 is and just enjoy the video.

      These things aren't interesting though. This is stuff on par with or worse than what would be found in Aliens Colonial Marines or Doom 3. This is the bare minimum needed for storytelling, and the story they have to tell is always ended with "And then they died." Or worse yet "A magic dragon killed them and turned them into zombie slaves." It's so boring that the overwhelming majority of his audience doesn't engage with his 76 videos since there's a massive discrepancy between views and comments.
