Probably both / remember “practice” is vague. Being a Bruce Lee fan since being young is like practice to some people. The mental hang up is part of practice

Master Yi, thank you I am Soo happy the monistery has opened to the world. As of nine yrs old when I began my self defense school it has my dream to go to the monistery in China many years. I joined a Shoalin Kung Fu school in SF but no discipline, always leaving class early, so after 3 months I quit but, a simple Shoalin technique saved my life by a knife attacker trying to kill me. Wow did that work, 1 knife against 2 hands that block, twice as fast. My greatest respect, thank you!

      How can I find unity
      Through separation ?
      Das truth sounds paradoxical:
      To live is to suffer.
      To die is to perish.
To survive is to find meaning in suffering.
Das only thing that I dread is
Not to be worthy of my suffering.

I alternate the 6 day practices and the weekend practices each day. I guess it works nicely since the weekend is not so hard and I get a "rest" day. I do try and sneak in the three postures on the rest days though, and Ba Duan Jin and Yi Jin Jing. 13 Lou Han is still very tricky to follow! So far, it works for me! I want to keep up these practices; it has been good. Thank you!

I find that when you do these movements exactly as you are told and shown, you will in a short few weeks discover that the better you practice will start to give you a workout that raises your heartbeat and feeling like you did 2 or 4 hours at the ymca on maney machines.the more precise you can do the movements the better a workout you will have.🙂👍and after each day you will notice your entire body feels looser and moore relaxed all over ,so glad im doing this.🙂🙏🙏thanks to the generosity of master yi.🙏

This is very good teaching. I recently started doing Shaolin stretching after doing Taoist internal alchemy for a few years. It's really helped clear and open up the meridians and generate lots of chi too. Thanks!

    • @donsimons9810
      @donsimons9810 2 ปีที่แล้ว

calling it meridians and chi doesn’t change that it’s joints, lymphnodes and muscle cell size and efficiency. You should check out modern ol’ western physical therapy education. It’s a lot more detail on how the body works!
Traditional eastern martial arts are great for specific exercises and stretches, but for knowledge that leads to terminology, I think all agree modern science is making advancements in understanding that are worth reading.
If you don’t feel like reading, call it chi and meridians like they did hundreds of years ago. But eastern practitioners themselves are often referencing their older terms to more modern understanding when they can. It’s the followers who always adhere the most blindly

      .
      Everything certainly needs improvements,
      from time to time..
modern physical therapy, also needs to be updated ,to get rid of unsuccessfully exercises, stretches etc.
      Those improvements must be made,
      By very experienced Indiviuals,
who also have a vast experience exercising themselves.
      And be revamped..
