Sorry to hear that you are struggling. I wish I can help but I am not sure what is the issue that troubles you...can you try and be more precise?! Making a edge loop should be as easy as it gets with Edge Loop node/SOP/

Switched from MODO to Houdini and I'm using it for many years now but still when I watch direct modeling in Houdini I feel how painful it is :)

Of course it's painful when one don't know how to do it properly. It's the same with all others DCCs. Also, that workflow is outdated at this point. Soon you will see what I mean...and how good modeling can be in Houdini. No plugins needed. One just need to make sense of everything that Houdini has to offer, because Houdini is not setuped for modeling when you open it for the first time. I invested more than 2000 hours into this topic in Houdini and there is no way I would ever go back to anything else I tried. I still have a bit of work to finish the guide etc. but one I do, you'll see what I am taking about. If you join Discord, I can show you all the things I did in past months. ☺️

That is totally fine, as long as you enjoy the process and have fun with it. ☺️

@@polymarvels there is wonderfully tool for modeling. Modeler 2022 it looks easy to model stuff

I'm not sure that's the best way to model in Houdina. Blender is much better for something like that. Houdini is more for creating procedural models. Let's say you insert a cube and it comes out as part of the kitchen table.

Well, that's not really the case. Houdini can do modeling just like any other DCC, if you know what you are doing. Plenty of tools and plenty of tricks you can do. If we are taking about vanilla stuff, I'll pick Houdini over Blender every time.

And how does a video like this help anyone? This is not a tutorial, this is just showing off. Tell people how you do it and how they can do it too. Learning to model in Houdini is what most new users struggle with. Glad you can do it, but you're not helping. And a timelapse doesn't ell how long it actually took anyway.....

Well, this is the type of video where I don't show you what exactly I am doing, but instead giving you an idea what is possible. Also, if you would read description, you would see how much time it took me to model that. Also I don't get why are you salty because it's speed up video. I quite enjoy those, so that's another reason I am also making them. They greatly benefit me as I often watch them to see what I could have done differently. I would actually recommend everyone to do this type of excercise time to time...it can do wonders.
