  • In this video, I create a SubD surface from a curved model obtained through Boolean operations.
The method consists of identifying sharp edges using the Sharp Edges tool, converting them into curves with the Duplicate tool, and using resampling to make the curves uniform.
Then, using the Face tool, I create individual patches from selected points or edges.
To modify the patch topology, I usually use tools like PolyPen, Connect, Face, Fill, Rails, Delete, and Evenly Space.
To project the patches onto the original surface, I use the To Template tool, which projects selected components onto the geometry of the automatically detected template node. For convenience, I hide the template nodes in the Display Options radial menu.
Finally, I apply Bevel in Crease mode to the sharp edges and remove any artifacts with PolyPen.

Nice workflow :) Trying to repeat it. Would be nice to see shortcuts on the screen.

So. Good. Are there any comprehensive Modeler tutorials you would recommend to get up to speed on these types of workflows?

Impressive! Man, would it be wrong if I modeled this in Blender and then imported it into Houdini?
