Modeler 2025: Boolean Model Retopology

- In this video, I create a SubD surface from a curved model obtained through Boolean operations.
The method consists of identifying sharp edges using the Sharp Edges tool, converting them into curves with the Duplicate tool, and using resampling to make the curves uniform.
Then, using the Face tool, I create individual patches from selected points or edges.
To modify the patch topology, I usually use tools like PolyPen, Connect, Face, Fill, Rails, Delete, and Evenly Space.
To project the patches onto the original surface, I use the To Template tool, which projects selected components onto the geometry of the automatically detected template node. For convenience, I hide the template nodes in the Display Options radial menu.
Finally, I apply Bevel in Crease mode to the sharp edges and remove any artifacts with PolyPen.
Nice workflow :) Trying to repeat it. Would be nice to see shortcuts on the screen.
This is godsent!
incredible workflow thank you for sharing
Great tutorial :) but please add Voice over or on screen actions :)
I wished that there is some VO. Hope there will be some video tutorials with VO explaining each tools and workflows
the f is VO
@@rennightmare Voice over. No need to cursing dude.
@@strangeapprentice oh i love those guys who abbreviates sense outta words
@rennightmare VO is pretty common abbreviation.
very impressive.
Спасибо. Было бы полезно видеть какие клавиши нажимаешь
What hotkey s the edge equalize?I cant find it in my hotkey list.
any chance of recording these things with with your mouse and keyboard actions recorded to screen?
So. Good. Are there any comprehensive Modeler tutorials you would recommend to get up to speed on these types of workflows?
Cool! What kind of music is playing?
Impressive! Man, would it be wrong if I modeled this in Blender and then imported it into Houdini?
yes, very wrong, extremely wrong even
@@khomatech0 hahaha thank you hahahahaa!!!
it depends, in this case it won't make big difference since this model is not really procedural which means u gotta re-model it by hands if needed
who cares where you do that?
@@rennightmarelike yoh! No one really cares about the path you take to the end product… just deliver
@SuperMyckie no, because you can't do simulation on imported mesh, all must be prepared in Houdini. I learned it the hard way.
Hi how can I join the discord for modeler?
How do mirror stuff I can’t get it to work ;(
