This video saved me so much stress. I followed most of the video and replaced my mom’s starter on her 2005 Honda Accord V6 and it started right up after installation. The only stepped I skipped from reading the comments was the air inbox. No need to remove since the starter is easy to get too with the battery bracket removed. Thanks so much for the detailed video.

Glad the video helped out, Wasn't aware at the time that air-box could stay in place. Thanks for the kind words. Cheers!

Just replaced my starter. Great video with great detail! Got me all the way though. Glad you showed how to install everything back into place. Big thumbs up on this video.

Great video, super clear video and detailed instructions. You may have removed a couple things that I wouldn't have, but I usually opt for slightly more cramped and less to put back together. My wife's Accord's starter is acting up this morning, hopefully I won't have to use this info, but it's very possible - I'll likely need a couple new sockets if so. Thanks.

No worries, hopefully it’s an easy fix. If it’s the starter I hope our video helps. Cheers!

@@MobileCarMechanic Ended up replacing it today, went pretty smoothly, thanks for such a great video example - the torque specs were a nice touch, the original bolts were so tight.

Nice video man I like how it just shows the whole thing not really any skips in it 😂,how did you know it was the starter ,on my honda i turn the ignition switch but it doesn’t wanna start like everything on the dash board turns on , but also when I turn the switch the radio turns off but dash stays on . I had changed the battery alternator and the ignition switch within the last 7 months

I will always first check to make sure there is oil as a locked up engine can cause the starter to not turn. I checked battery voltage as well as checked if voltage was going to the starter. If I’m getting voltage to the starter when turning the key that gives me a good idea the starter is bad. Also you can tap the starter with a rod and a hammer while someone is turning the key. This is hit or miss. But if it works you’ll either hear a noise or the starter will turn over the engine. Hope this helps. Cheers!

@@MobileCarMechanic yea man I hit the starter and it didn’t turn on but it did make a little noise like a mosquito when I was hittin it, and also it wanted to start but just didn’t

Sounds like the starter honestly as after you hit it it moved a little making a sound.

I am not a mechanic , and thinking about doing this myself on my 05 Honda Accord V6 ...I have all the needed tools except the torque wrench.....how critical is it , getting those 2 bolts exactly to spec ?...thanks for creating the video...................

Just don’t over tighten and you’ll be fine. If you don’t trust yourself then I’d get a torque wrench. They aren’t terribly expensive. You can get one from harbor freight for 20 bucks. Sometimes they have sales that bring it down to 10.

You only need to take off the battery support bracket. The air intake box is totally unnecessary.
