    Great video. My uncle's timing belt broke due to him not serving the timing belt service. We have an engine, but our local Honda dealership doesn't have enough experienced techs to get the job done. Called a few independent garages also and same situation. So, I guess we are just going to send it to the junk yard. Sad b/c the body and interior are still in tip top condition, just needs and engine swap. Everything is functional too on the car. 98 Accord 3.0 V6. SMH

    Good vid, how do you keep track of all the different bolts? Or is it all memory. Those are my favorite cars, that gen.

      Mostly memory, but I try to keep every part with their bolts or nuts if possible. I really like that generation accords too. 👍🏻

    I plan on buying a jdm for my 04. I thought they were plug and play but by my little research on it today I've read where you gotta swap this and that. Could you tell me exactly what you gotta do to make the jdm work in the usdm model

    Yo DM GAR love the video. Big fan. Quick question. I plan on swapping out same engine. Do I have to take off the fuel injector harness off if I plan to take out engine thru the top?

    • @dmgar3789

      No, you can bring the harness with the engine and swap it outside.

    MAP sensor voltage is a bit high at hot idle, usually like to see around .9v. Did the customer decline a valve adjustment?

    • @dmgar3789
      @dmgar3789  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the map reading was a bit high. Customer only wanted a straight engine swap. So that’s exactly what I did. I did drive the vehicle for a few days before returning the vehicle to the customer. Check engine light came on detecting a rich condition. The map sensor was aftermarket so I started there. After I replaced the map sensor (with oem sensor) the readings dropped to .88v and check engine was gone.
      Once the map readings reached 1.33v it would trigger a rich condition.

    I own a Honda Accord 2008 and my crankshaft is failing and destroys the oil pump and bearings but aside that every other thing is working fine, so my mechanic suggested that we swap the engine for if they should fix the crankshaft we will still going to experience the same annoying rattling noise. I’m still indecisive though, please I need your opinion on that. Honda Accord 2008 ex. Thanks

      Sadiq shehu if you’re having issues with the crankshaft and oil pump is best if you just do an engine swap if you plan on keeping the car.

      You need to join your signal wire with the ground wire at the Vtec solenoid. Basically, you’re only leaving the connector with the ground wire going to the solenoid. Use a pigtail to join the wires. Let me know if it works.

Honestly, is quite the hustle making everything work. A lot of things are different like; engine harness, injectors, VTEC, etc sensor, a/compressor bracket, drive belt tensioner, but the most important thing is re-wiring the VTEC solenoid.
