Honestly I didn't know what to think of the game. AI-gen voiceover was the first red flag, but sometimes those types of games are fine? But then I noticed that nearly everything was AI-generated? The dialogue lines, the blobs of exposition (papers, articles etc), the epilogue. Then I went to check the comments and yikes. The dev is likely a teenager and doesn't know what they're doing.

The character animations and dialog in this game look identical to Stray Souls which makes it likely this is the same developer. This developer had some controversial opinions on X (Twitter), but also made a prototype demo to a game called Cold World (a Game CJU played) and that demo featured a real 911 audio of a female victim, that the developer had no permission to use it for that demo. Now personally I am in the view that what someone did in the past doesn't fully represent who they are now, but of course some of these issues happened less then a year ago and some of his actions has upset some people that worked with them. So I'm pretty mixed when it comes to this developer.
This game is also directly plagiarized from another game (separate from them already reusing assets from their own previous game) like this is literally someone else's game they've plagiarized they're not a good person and he really needs to stop playing their games.

The guy at the beginning said the dog can be very loud. I figured that is what the demonic moaning is. I kept busting out laughing imagining the look of the dog sleeping and making those sounds. It cracked me up.
That makes no sense. If she was autopsied and buried after "hanging herself", how the hell was her body buried in the house? And nothing in the story ties anything to a missing husband or that her husband was possibly murdered. That could have at least been suggested in the article on her as a possibility to her self termination. Why would the body be buried in her own house while she was living there? How could the cop "rescue" the family to have it reported to the news that he did, if he murdered the family in a fire? And the guy from the start has a mystery lover that's only needed for 2 small bits. Love the overall look of the game but this seriously needed more work and tightening up of the story. So many plot holes and so much wasted time having you search for clues to lead to clues that could have just been there for you to start picking up in the first place. And rather than killing you, it would have made more sense that the ghost kept dragging you to the closet, impeding your progress.
The main floor of the house looks really really REALLY similar to the house of Paranormal Activity 2!!!! The second floor is different but the main floor is the same, except for the door that, in the movie, leads to the basement (in this game is a closet) and the room next to it, and, in the movie, there is a door in the kitchen (where the doggy is sleeping)
Great looking game but very flawed : the writing and the story are very lacking, the inclusion from Bella is completely useless and could have been left out, that computer beeping for 10 minutes made me want to stab my ears etc. etc. EDIT : based on several comments regarding this game's dev, maybe it would've been best to skip this one entirely.
Firstly, glad to see another vid, Chris. Secondly, not a fan of this dev. Making a good looking game is getting easier with premade assets and engines like UE5 so it's not a reliable metric. The story was just bad and inconsistent like it was low effort or Ai-generated and the gameplay was more tedium and boring after the first cheap jumpscare. That's ignoring all the similarities with their previous title in terms of framework.
Did you know that your could talk to Mrs. Susan and she gives you clues of what happened to her? But she often tells you to keep it quiet and that she is not the only one there. You ask if she can see you...Yes I can see you! Makes it a little better. But Chris did a excellent job...like always!!!

So lemme get this straight. The first article on search "Crawler" says that Ms. Susan was an 80 year old woman who hanged herself on the year 2020. Bella says, it's been 3 years since she died, but still somehow she was lingering around and interacting with this new couple who settled in the house. And was actually even nice to them, but then started acting weird and creepy after a while. But that story about Susan hanging herself was fabricated.. by Sheriff..? The real Susan died 40 years back, on the year 1982, when the Sheriff who was mad with jealousy decided to burn her, her unborn baby and her husband along with their house. And then the Sheriff somehow convinced the media to fabricate an article glorifying him as hero who saved lives in a fire accident. Probably so they never suspect he could be capable of doing something bad... Okay? So wait, his original purpose to burn Susan was presumably so it would look natural right? The family died in a fire accident. Then why his the bodies?? And for 40 damn years! And no, it would not even be hard to find them, since all you needed to do was remove a couple of floor boards, and there they were.. And then why fabricate the story of an 80 year old woman hanging herself? I do believe that there were two ghosts there at the house. It was Susan who was helping us discover the truth, while the Grandma is actually not good and should be steered clear from. However, as to why the Grandma is hunting us?? No reason given for that? 31:30 I believe what is supposed to be happening there is that she is supposed to be beating the player to death, but a glitch allowed you to move away and just watch the animation from the outside! With Unreal Engine 5 it's happening a lot lately where you get these games with stunning graphics, but where the actual game code is shoddily slapped together in Blueprint by a dev who doesn't know how to program.

Edited to add: Now after watching the full video, the size discrepancies were the least of this games’s problems! I’m surprised Chris didn’t mention how small the laundry room stuff was! Either the dryer and clothing racks (why both? Or was that a washer?) looked like toys for a child or the player character was suddenly really tall.

Also, what was with all the blood if the family burned to death? Why did a ghost of an old lady sound like a constipated bear? And what was with the children's drawings?? There are so many questions!

i wish devs would reach out to friends or just…anyone who they know won’t mess with their vision or their story, but is willing and able to help clean up some of the clunkiness of the dialogue. in some games you don’t notice it, but here it was pretty blatant. still a fun watch and it’s always nice to see a new video from you though less time to watch these days.

So lemme get this straight.
The first article on search "Crawler" says that Ms. Susan was an 80 year old woman who hanged herself on the year 2020.
Bella says, it's been 3 years since she died, but still somehow she was lingering around and interacting with this new couple who settled in the house. And was actually even nice to them, but then started acting weird and creepy after a while.
But that story about Susan hanging herself was fabricated.. by Sheriff..?
The real Susan died 40 years back, on the year 1982, when the Sheriff who was mad with jealousy decided to burn her, her unborn baby and her husband along with their house.
And then the Sheriff somehow convinced the media to fabricate an article glorifying him as hero who saved lives in a fire accident. Probably so they never suspect he could be capable of doing something bad... Okay?
So wait, his original purpose to burn Susan was presumably so it would look natural right? The family died in a fire accident. Then why his the bodies??
And for 40 damn years! And no, it would not even be hard to find them, since all you needed to do was remove a couple of floor boards, and there they were..
And then why fabricate the story of an 80 year old woman hanging herself?
I do believe that there were two ghosts there at the house.
It was Susan who was helping us discover the truth, while the Grandma is actually not good and should be steered clear from.
However, as to why the Grandma is hunting us?? No reason given for that?
Also... Shouldn't the Sheriff also be atleast 60 to 70 years old now..?
Overall, The story does not make sense and has too many damn loop holes.

(I thought she was a widower) I thought it was an entire family? That is what the news paper clip said. This game is trash. I love you cju, just not the game. It's bad. Also it makes literally no sense. Lazy dev. There are so many good games out there, and devs that actually try. Play their games.

31:30 I believe what is supposed to be happening there is that she is supposed to be beating the player to death, but a glitch allowed you to move away and just watch the animation from the outside! With Unreal Engine 5 it's happening a lot lately where you get these games with stunning graphics, but where the actual game code is shoddily slapped together in Blueprint by a dev who doesn't know how to program.

Didn't it say in the first news article that Miss Susan Crawler was 80 years old? But she was pregnant when she died? This game made no sense all the way around. Other then looking ok everything else sucked so much. Nothing made sense, no direction and no reason to do one task or another. Just stupid. I actually hated it cause it made me so mad because it was aimless.
Bajka is the real mvp of this game. Hopefully she got plenty of treats once everything was sorted out

I don't know if you choose to not use the microphone, but you actually can use it to ask some questions to the ghost, such as "who are you", "show yourself", "what do you want?" etc...
I'm so confused. So the lady and her husband died 40 years ago when the whole house burnt down...but then the old lady hung herself 3 years ago.. AND she was pregnant? Then the house was rebuilt without finding bodies under the wooden and burnt floor and the ghost looked alive and started working for the new residents? Maybe I missed something or many things. Anyone get this timeline?

There is no reason to have that much house, if you are in $100K in mortgage dept. According to "Colton" they have just moved in, and are already in that much debt?... No that is outstanding debt which means they where already in debt when they moved in. Something fishy going on with your "buddy".
This confused me. If Grandma was killed by the cop she was old and would not have a an unborn baby so who was under the floor boards. Was it the guys wife under there. I wish it went longer to get more information. I think she was trying to break your neck to show you that is how she died.

I’m surprised Chris didn’t mention how small the laundry room stuff was! Either the dryer and clothing racks (why both? Or was that a washer?) looked like toys for a child or the player character was suddenly really tall.
I would of got out as soon as the door open and told the cop someone should burn this house down, but of course explaining why i was there in the first place.
This game is LITERALLY the other game (forgot it's name) where a Chinese dude ask you to find his missing daughter. Then he leaves you to be in his house for clues. It's the same game with different persons. Even the entire gameplay is the same. This is plagiarism on a whole new level.
If your talking about the game Supernormal, this is the same developer. And some information that the developer of this game and Supernormal is the developer of that Awful horror game Stray Souls.
I'm kinda sad that this game is getting some attention from youtube. This solo developer (guy who made the recent Stray Souls) keeps changing his name, because every single time he does something scummy, either plagiarism, blatant flip asset, using real 911 call for his shallow horror game...
Same VA for the detective as well.
The voice for the player character is the same too, and those toys are for sure AI generated!
