Jodie has made it clear that she would happily jump at the chance if asked to return as the Doctor so easily a 100% for her, mark my words: She'll be in the 70th anniversary special! She's consistently expressed how much she loves the role and the show, and she's coming back for Big Finish the quickest of any of the modern Doctors and I fully expect we'll see her on screen again and I'm excited for that!
I have a feeling that Tennant might show up again at some point as 14, most likely when Ncuti leaves the show and regenerates because of all the weird bigeneration stuff. Other than that, I would say that Jodie and Matt are the most likely Doctors to come back if any in the 70th or a future special as Matt is still really young and says he would come back if given the chance and Jodie has said she really wants to come back at some point.
I met Paul McGann at Liverpool Comic con and he had almost blatantly shown up and asked if he could be one of the guests because all his prices were written in ballpoint pen and they were really cheap. He had a guy having a long conversation with a bloke and when I came to his booth he told the guy to go quiet for a bit so that he could take his picture with me and gave me his autograph of his Day of the Doctor picture (I don’t remember what his minisode was called). He was genuinely the nicest celebrity, I’ve met at a comic con. He definitely would come back to Doctor Who because he both loves the fans and the show. His return in the Power of the Doctor made me squeal because it was a few months after I met him at the con.
I always assumed, due to the Curator scene, that Matt Smith would be the first to return as another incarnation of the Doctor before the 60th specials.
Having met Paul at the stage door after a play he was in called The River, he’s really excited about the prospect of returning and was giddy about managing to make it to tv with The Doctor
Now that both the 50th and 60th anniversaries have shown reoccurring incarnations, I honestly believe Paul McGann should return as a new incarnation. Being allowed to be a continuation/new interpretation/ or some amalgam of each. Honestly, making 8 the 16th doctor would be slightly fitting in about 5-10 years time. If not the 18th doctor. Soon, tho. Because, as much as I love the idea of McGann, he's no spring chicken. I'd want him to be on for at least 3 seasons. But, as I've said with each NuWho Doctor, I am fingers crossed for at least 5-7 series/seasons for the respective incarnations. Gatwa better not go anywhere before 2030. So locking it in. McGann. 16th Doctor. At 72.
They need to do another multi Master story. Absolutely crazy that it took up to Moffat's series 10 finale to do it for the first and currently only time
I wouldn't mine a multi-Master story as a Doctor-light one, where the Doctor pretty-much only appears in some in-universe footage, a flashback, or even just a voice-over.
I think Two is probably the hardest to carry of because, firstly, he already returned on three occasions in the classic era and - unlike his predecessor - there is a lot of resistance around recasting him. You could argue that Matt Smith was a recast on some levels, but speeded up!
Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley) is the grandson of Patrick Troughton and is 10 years younger than his grandfather when he took on the 2nd Doctor role. A great actor outside of the Harry Potter films, amd looks enough like his Grandad to physically pull it off too
A 13 & 15 crossover seems very likely to me, it just feels like they would have really good chemistry but I’m scared it’s too soon for her to come back so maybe in series 3 or 4 depending on how long 15 stays
Yes please . 8 and 9 are truly the more traumatised regenerations 8 becase he is the version of Doctor to enter the Time War and fought and lost so many companions , and 9 because of what he did as the War Doctor and the guilt and the blood that he has on his hands . He truly was the one with a planet sized pool of blood of his enemies and regular citizens alike . Both shine when happy , but both as dark as they come . Maybe even darken than 12 was in the start . Imagine the gravitas , the stories these 2 bear on their shoulders .

There was a non-anniversary multi-Doctor story that wasn't an anniversary. Patrick Troughton returned in Cikib Baker's era in The Two Doctors. Also, David Tenant could return at his current age (or when he's older) without playing the 14th Doctor. That's because the Metacrisis Doctor is in a parallel universe with Rose Tyler and her Mom. He is supposed to be growing old with Rose. You could bring him and the Tyler's back to this universe for an adventure (or send the current Doctor there).
I would’ve loved a quick cameo from David Bradley’s first Doctor in the Beatles episode and just have him walk past. Cuz it’s not a proper multi doctor return it’s just a cool Easter egg. I think doing that stuff with Doctors would be great.
Yeah, I think there's a good chance we get Eccleston on our screens in the next decade. We were this close to him showing up in the 50th but it just hadn't been long enough yet but Eccleston's now made his peace with the show and the character by returning to Big Finish and doing conventions. All that needs to happen is for the current people running the show to not be there anymore and that the next showrunner doesn't give up on an opportunity to include him for it to happen by the 70th. The next showrunner may be quite hesitant to start doing fanservice and call-backs right away though and would like to craft out their era first, as much as I love Eccleston, it shouldn't be a priority of any showrunner to bring back a past Doctor.
I think instead of having more doctor reappearances they should just focus on the current doctor in the case of the 15th at least because with the lack of episodes already in Season 1, we’re lacking enough of our current
The only past Doctor I wanted to see return was Eccleston back in 2013, and I still believe Moffat could've convinced him if he had left the Time War alone and explored the Ninth Doctor's life before Rose. Ideally, we would've seen his adventure on the Titanic. The Titanic is established as a fixed point in time (like the Kennedy assassination) that the Ninth Doctor doesn't interfere with. Contrast with the Tenth trying to change a fixed point of time with Adelaide Brooke's death, and the Eleventh cheating his death, which was another fixed point. The three Doctors would've been connected by their experience of fixed points: the Ninth, reminding himself of his responsibility as the last of the Time Lords, the Tenth deciding that he meant he won the Time War, and the Eleventh, who had moved on from the War.
Seeing them on screen would be nice, however lets not forget (and i know its not a medium for everyone) We have Tom, Peter, Colin, Sylvester, Paul, Chrisopher, David, Jodie and Jo all still playing the part in Big Finish audios (Jodies will be released 2025) We also have audios with David Bradley as the first Dotcor, Fraser Hines as the second Doctor, John Cultshaw as third Doctor and Jonathon Carley as the War Doctor. Personaly... i have to say, to me Chrisophers "Girl deconstructed" audio is one of the best episodes in all of Who.
@@Creek932 Dont worry, i wont... John Hurt shares my alltime no2 spot along Paul McGann. Both of them are so good in their audios. The reason i didnt include him in the list was the STILL playing their role. His four season of audio, just wow
Agree with everything. But! We have a bunch of people voicing Two. Fraser Heins in “Lost Stories”, Michael Troughton in his adventures, also sometimes there are Wendy Padbury and, like everyone who are free to voice hahah
"...I think the more multi-Doctor stories you have the less effective they are, really." This definitely strengthens the argument against them that Ellie was trying to make, and is Capaldi's stance when asked if he'd consider coming back. He's always been dead against it, not because he has anything against the show or the people, he simply doesn't like the concept. For a long time the only two examples we had were the 10th and 20th anniversary specials, the JNT went and ruined it by doing The Two Doctors. Again, nothing against Patrick or Colin, but there was really no need for such a story at the time it was broadcast. Got a question for you guys. How would you feel about using archive footage combined with AI to have something approaching a reasonable performance, a la what they did in Rogue One with Grand Moff Tarkin?
I, personally, would LOVE to see Colin return as "The Curator" since he played the 2nd incarnation of the character in Big Finish. And he could EASILY play that on screen without any worry. But I would like to see him come back as the 6th Doctor, and they can give him the blue outfit that he should've ALWAYS been given on screen. And you can pair him up with Mel, easily, and just put some time shenanigans that explains his older look and have it take place in his personal time line between the end of the Trial season and before he OFFICIALLY meets Mel. But I'm just a huge 6th Doctor mark, and any chance to have Colin back on screen is just something I'll always vouch for. Also we could very much see more 8th Doctor in the modern show. A few appearances in a few stories across a couple seasons would be great for the show AND the character, because you can just make it the 8th Doctor during the Time War which makes it easier to have him traveling alone at times. Just have him on some mission for Cardinal Ollistra (who if you don't know this character she's a FANTASTIC antagonistic Time Lord character from the audios and you should listen to them), and you've got yourself some ready made loopholes for time travel hijinks leading to more McGann on screen.
What I'd like to see past Doctors reappearing for is not an episode of the show, but rather some game adaptations, along the lines of the Matt Smith-era adventure games or maybe even a Doctor Who flavoured first-person adventure game with FMV cutscenes like 1994's Under A Killing Moon. Be a great opportunity to have Christopher Eccleston doing another story, possibly before his Doctor met Rose. Or give Paul McGann some more screen time. Plenty of scope for his Doctor to have a solo adventure, too. Honestly, when it comes to adapting the show to a game format, an adventure game is really the best fit, as the Doctor is basically an adventure game protagonist created before the adventure game genre.
Might be a hot take but they should do a multidoctor every 5 - 8 years but make them more like the 5 doctors or 50th because I feel scammed by power and the 60th
Re: all the enemies ganging up, it was already done as well, right? Matt Smith in the Pandorica Opens? "Remember every black day I ever stopped you, and then, *and then*, do the smart thing! Let somebody else try first."
Guys... As an American who has been a Whovian for much MUCH longer than you guys (sorry folks, but you weren't BORN yet when we got the Doctor originally), Number Four was the first to explode here in the States (even though Number Three was first) - the Ninth and Tenth did bring in more obviously, but us long-timers go clear back to Jon Pertwee when the Third Doctor's adventures were syndicated here (in the Philly area, I saw INFERNO originally on Channel 17, and it had a narrator!). Technically, in the mid 70s, PRIOR to the Star Wars craze that hit in 1977, with the surging of Star Trek Mania, classic SciFi on television grew a fandom along side. The same year we got the imported Doctor Who, we had independent stations showing block reruns of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, My Favorite Martian (good gawd!), and then NBC/Paramount/Filmation dropped Trek TAS on us, as we also ate up the reruns of TOS on UHF. But when the PBS stations in Dallas, TX, Wilmington/Philadelphia, and the whole of New Jersey (NJN/PBS) got together and started splicing whole serials into afternoon or evening long movies (after originally just showing them back-to--back, reverting back to this format after Time/Life Video and the BBC started to complain about it), fandom just exploded. So even though many say George Lucas started the wave, actually no he didn't, he just rode the burgeoning one at the perfect time in 1977, care of televised SciFi. And even as Star Wars gave us our first cinematic explosion in a generation (2001: A Space Odyssey was more an event and Logan's Run was okay, but not a starting point for the SciFi wave), television shows still built on what Doctor/Trek/Wars had started, as classics like Danger Man/Secret Agent, The Prisoner, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Blakes 7 and the original Avengers (Steed and Peel not Thor and Black Widow), all showing up on the Public Broadcasting Service, and being funded by the fans. We all see cosplayers - Trek may have started it, but there's nothing more dominant as seeing a bunch of Prydonians of Prynceton (Originally from Princeton, NJ) dressed up in full Regal Dress Garb sitting at phone banks taking donation calls for the annual PBS Pledge Breaks (AKA Money Grubbing), usually centered around a new special serial of the Doctor's, like when Genesis of the Daleks first arrived on our shores, or finally getting the first three Doctor's series on PBS with what was available to show, or super specials like The Five Doctors, which premiered HERE before it aired in Britain. Yea, we were important enough that we saw it first. So please., we didn't start loving the Doctor at its rebirth in 2005. We wanted more of it so bad, that we talked one of our television networks to create THE MOVIE with you guys. (Let's just say we were just as cheesed off as you folks at Michael Grade... maybe cheesier... Kind of like how we aren't great fans of Les Moonves as Trekies...) The strangest thing of all of this, we can thank two extremely non SciFi imports for all this build-up in America - Monty Python's Flying Circus and Benny Hill, both of whom were here BEFORE the Doctor (MPFC first on PBS and Benny via edited syndicated shows on UHF stations as a response to the British Comedy Wave started by MPFC). As these became popular, Time/Life partnered up with the BBC and CBS with ITV and started deluging us in everything from Across the Pond!
All I ever want in my lifetime (and before Chris’ lifetime ceases) is to see him as the doctor again in the actual show. Him and Matt Smith- at least once
Hello Sean! Lovely to see you again! Jodie will return at some point and she deserves better writing. Chances of David coming back in any shape or form (Tentoo, 14, 19… who knows) is 100% for the rest of his life. Can’t keep that nerd away and I love it.
personally I would rather have a special or series that only had the 8th doctor in . Paul Mcgann deserves a decent run as in my opinion he is the 4th best doctor after the 4th , 2nd , and 11th.
Yay! Sean is back! I like Ellie but I have some sort of a crush on Sean, so everytime he’s back, I’m happy. And also, he was the main presenter when I discovered WhoCulture: you never forget your first Doctor like you never forget your first WhoCulture presenter.
If the BBC were clever enough to realise just how massive an impact Big Finish has been within the fanbase and the insanely high demand for his return to screen then hopefully we get the spin off we always needed.
Here's how to mix it up: instead of having a Multi-Doctor episode, just have an episode with current villains going up against a previous Doctor, like Paul McGann. Or maybe that's a good time to bring Jodie back under a different writer. Maybe the villain is chasing after the current Doctor, but wacky time shenanigans happen. Or the villain is deliberately going after an earlier Doctor in a sort of baby Hitler type story, thinking they can stop The Doctor before becoming as experienced/knowledgeable/powerful as the current incarnation etc.
I'd love to see them all return because all of them have something special about them. I'd love to see 13 and Yaz return, personally, as there was much more to their story. 9 would be amazing and I hope something can be worked out. I'll just be happy to see new episodes!
I know there are options on both sides on whether or not a British actor is required for the doctor,I ask that you might consider the following: My doctor, considering my age, is the 4th Tom Baker. Even as an American, Tom Baker’s 4th taught me that the greatest superpower is the mind. And considering his age, even I would consider Adam Driver. Not only having the physical attributes to visually carry it off but also the acting gravitas to do him justice.
Paul Mcgann needs a propper series not a one off episode #justiceforMcgann . His doctor and Eccleston need more screen time and their versions are the least used in the modern era of Who . The ones upstrairs should listen to us fans more , then the fans would most likely reward the BBC and Disney+ will huge tv and streaming minutes . Act while the dudes can still act . We still want to see Tom Baker as the curator , but as Shawn stated the gentlemen is 90 and he cannot act as the Curator anymore , as much as i would love to see his road to become the Curator .
Chibnall didn't touch nuwho that much during Power of the Doctor as he was expecting RTD to do a nuwho multi-Doctor esque thing for the 60th, we didn't get that. So there's a great bit of space for something like this to become the 70th.
It had kinda been proven before School Reunion, The Two Doctors had Jaime spending a lot of time with the Sixth Doctor. While The Two Doctors isn't the best story, Jaime was one of the best things about it. Also, Ellie, the multi-Doctor story as a anniversary celebration is false, only The Five Doctors and The Day of the Doctor were actually anniversary celebrations. The Three Doctors, The Two Doctors, The Power of the Doctor and The Gigglle weren't aired on anniversary dates. Only 1/3 of the time have multi-Doctor stories been on an anniversary.
You should do a ranking of modern Companions returning at some point as well (just the main ones of course). Donna is the most likely with 14, but I would love to see Amy with 11 or especially Clara with 12, pretty please!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
In my opinion, it's difficult if not impossible to bring back the 2nd and 3rd Doctors in any modern story that's not Big Finish, as opposed to the 1st Doctor. It's easy to find a voice impressionist, but more difficult to actually recast them both, since Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee are already so embedded with those characters, that it's hard to disassociate with them. It's much "easier" to recast William Hartnell and to place the 1st Doctor in a modern story and more sensible, since obviously he's the first incarnation (not counting the Timeless Child), and has often been used as a guide for the consciousness for newer Doctors as seen in Power of the Doctor, but even that has had some qualms. People have already criticized David Bradley's performance as William Hartnell's 1st Doctor, as he's much slower with his words and not as energetic compared to Hartnell when he was still in the show, but it's still possible and much easier and sensible to recast and to bring back the 1st Doctor in modern stories, especially with possiblity of Susan returning, and they could do some memory thing like in Power of the Doctor where former companions see the current Doctor as their own Doctors, and maybe David Bradley's Doctor could return in a similar way if the Doctor reunites with Susan.
For many, recasting the Doctor after Tom left was a struggle. Replacing the man himself in that part - when they were very nearly synonymous, even in his own mind - I think would be an uphill battle. But he has the biggest on-screen legacy already, so it's not really necessary.
My 70th anniversary story is called the thousand doctors where the master has ran out of regenerations (again) and has used the doctors DNA to turn a town of people into the doctor to harness their regenerations
Having you talk about the 70th anniversary made me think, would they do a 70th anniversary special, or would they in fact wait, and do a 75th anniversary special instead?
Eccleston did say that if they sacked russell T Davies, Julie Gardner, Jane Tranter and Phil Colinson then he'd definitely come back but that sounds extremely unlikely that happening. perhaps after russell's era as showrunner is over but idk
I keep hearing about Eccelston putting forth that ultimatum, but is there a specific article or interview where his grievances are clearly explained to know why he has beef with basically the entirety of his series' executive producers? Especially since he went in to filming in 2004-05 being a supporter of RTD after working together on "The Second Coming" two years prior.
I think it's 50/50. Yes, Eccleston implied he might be open to returning once RTD departs, but let's not forget we had 2 other showrunner eras between RTD that he didn't return for. On the other hand, he is now doing Big Finish, which implies he's more open to it than he once was, so nothing is off the table :)
Interesting that all of Ellie's feelings about the First Doctor are the same ones I always hear from the gallery about River returning. Obviously they're wrong about River, I just thought it was funny. Happy WhoMas! (I keep forgetting) 🎄🎄🎄
Paul McGann getting a proper Doctor episode with his companions mentioned from the 'Big Finish' stories in the 'Night of the Doctor'. And 14th Doctor to River Song would not be "younger than she's ever seen him."
Sean want's to see a 12 9 story, I want to see an 11 13 story. It would be fun and weird, just the way I like my Doctor Who. Also, it'd be nice to see Jodie's Doctor written well, fingers crossed.
Personally I'm a bit done with multi-doctor stories. The Day of the Doctor was wonderful but it worked because the story was so "once in a lifetime" epic - they would struggle to replicate that even with another 39 years of build up. If the show is going to bring back old faces I'd rather they focused on characters that make sense and need closure, like older companions or, yes, the Fourteenth Doctor. I know a lot of people didn't like the fact that the 60th specials didn't bring back any old Doctors (unless Tennant counts, but he was playing a new incarnation ... I dunno!) and I understand that, but I personally liked how interested it was in looking forward to the future, particularly after the divisive few years we'd had and things like the Bad Wolf co-production and the Disney+ deal. If past Doctors are to return I'd like it to be more like "Time Crash", fun little cut away scenes that don't take themselves too seriously, or maybe the occasional "vision" as in The Power of the Doctor. ... oh, and a Paul McGann spin off series. Obviously!
The Giggle on paper was a multi-doctor story and the year before we got Power of the Doctor and 5 years prior we got Twice Upon a Time so multi-doctor stories aren’t exactly abundant but I get the precedent that at the minute we need a break from them. You can include the fugitive doctor in that I guess but isn’t the same kinda of situation to name it as a multi-doctor story. Yeah we love them but I too would love to see some big, high stakes multi-companion/monster stories. We adore the Pandorica episodes and the Stolen earth trilogy being like the Avengers Endgame of RTD’s first run so more of that please (bring Martha back 😂)
all i want is for jo martin's fugitive doctor to return. she immediately *felt* like the doctor, unfortunately (and i hate to say this) more so than jodie whittaker ever did imho
See, people forget, The Doctor has a Tardis. Why should they be so localized, it makes the Tardis seem less like a time machine, and more like a plot device. Like, 12 meeting 1 was lovely, because it came out of nowhere, and that's how a time machine should work. We're so used to getting multidocs as big events, but really they should be more random. What if 15 was just kinda solving a mystery, and 5 turned up trying to solve the same mystery, and 15 had to hide who he was, but then 5 figures it out by the end. And it wasn't a huge event, it was just, say, Episode 4 of S16 (S3 if you go by re-reboot count). Or what if Torchwood finds an artifact of Fenris, and 14 turns up, like? That's what makes it special and unique, the randomness of it, and the relative infrequency. Yeah, it should be uncommon, but it shouldn't be so rare as to only happen during anniversaries. It should be more unpredictable than that, and more common than that. Say, every 10~30 episodes there should be a past Doctor popping up, even if it's just for a moment, or in a flashback, or something.
Oh, if we're doing just crazy predictions at the end for the next ten years, I'll throw this one into the ring: A Dalek wearing Cybermen armor. For whatever contrived reason or plot.
I definitely agree that David could return again, if not for the main show during Ncuti's era then maybe a spinoff instead. Matt's idea of returning as the Master would be historical because that will make him the first actor to play both him and the Doctor. That one is me wishful thinking, but who knows?
Paul McGann 100%, the demand for his return has skyrocketed ever since the 2013 minisode and more recent cameo, he's always said he'd come back if asked.
My list is as follows 1. 15% (if they pick up the Susan story) 2.5% 3.20% 4.0% 5.60% 6.25% 7.40% 8.90% 9.0% (under RTD) or 70% 10.10% (if they ever check in on Metacrisis and Rose 11.80% 12.0% 13.100% 14.20%
Play along and comment your predictions as we go! 👇 Are you more aligned with Seán or Ellie?
Who would be recast as The second Doctor? Harry Milling ? How he looks now a days as apposed to when he played Dudley dursley.

Doctor Who meets Lower Decks.
Give 8 a series we never got to see him in full blown series action, I think we missed out massively massively on a full series of McGanns doctor
This is the correct answer. Justice for 8!!

@@brewster_4 And I fully expect she would be asked presuming it's a multi-doctor story which I certainly hope so and am going to presume that.
I will preorder her boxset as soon as its doing to be available.
I'd like to see what either RTD or Moffat (or some up-and-coming brilliant Doctor Who writer) could do with Jodie's Doctor.
I hope so, her doctor needs redeeming. I hate how people hate on Jodie for the writers sins
Matt and Jodie are about 4 months apart in age.

I would like to see Ncuti merge with Tennant as they regenerate into the next doctor, sort of the reversal of the bigeneration

The night of the doctor
I always assumed, due to the Curator scene, that Matt Smith would be the first to return as another incarnation of the Doctor before the 60th specials.
Having met Paul at the stage door after a play he was in called The River, he’s really excited about the prospect of returning and was giddy about managing to make it to tv with The Doctor
Now that both the 50th and 60th anniversaries have shown reoccurring incarnations, I honestly believe Paul McGann should return as a new incarnation. McGann. 16th Doctor. At 72.
It’s not even clear if Gatwas staying for series 3
They need to do another multi Master story. Absolutely crazy that it took up to Moffat's series 10 finale to do it for the first and currently only time
Only time on TV, there's been quite a few brilliant multi Master stories in Big Finish, Eric Roberts was even in two of them.
I wouldn't mine a multi-Master story as a Doctor-light one, where the Doctor pretty-much only appears in some in-universe footage, a flashback, or even just a voice-over.

"I - I'm not Harry." - Harry Melling
By the same token we also have Sean Pertwee
A 13 & 15 crossover seems very likely to me, it just feels like they would have really good chemistry but I’m scared it’s too soon for her to come back so maybe in series 3 or 4 depending on how long 15 stays
McGann, Eccleston and Capaldi to each have a feature length episode that links together into a trilogy
I don't know much about Eccleston, but from what I've heard, him returning as 9 is below 20%.

You could bring him and the Tyler's back to this universe for an adventure (or send the current Doctor there).
i would love to see matt smith play the master, he even said himself he would love to play the villain
I'll go one step further - Matt Smith as the Valeyard - the dark sides of the Doctor and he would fit a villain so well!
I want him to play young Palpatine for a Star Wars show/movie
Why not the valeyard!?
Feels a bit Robert Downey JR as Dr Doom to me xD But if any Doctors are coming back in any form, Smith would be very near the top of my list :)
Can you imagine 9 and Donna in the same room? The sass would be dripping and glorious in that room
I didn’t know I wanted this until just now! I now NEED this!!!!!!!
I can’t imagine 12 interacting with 11, 10, 13, or 14. He would just walk circles around them. He might have some good chemistry with 15.
I would love an episode set in 1965 where the Doctor and his companions crash land in New York, and is found by an older Amy and Rory.
I like Bradley's portrayal of Who No. 1
They’ll probably have a nice self-contained episode for the 70th but go all-out for the 75th like they did with the 50th
An anniversary special with multiple companions returning would be a nice change from the usual multi doctor stories.
i would love for 13 to come back
I would’ve loved a quick cameo from David Bradley’s first Doctor in the Beatles episode and just have him walk past.
It might be niche, but I'd love sequels to An Adventure in Space and Time telling more of the history of the show.
Dalek/Cyberman hybrid, for no reason other than it has the potential to look cool as hell.
The next multi-Doctor story should wait for the 75th Anniversary. 9 thru whoever is "current" should be involved.
Do you think they can beat the 50th?
It’d be a big ask, that one was SO good
@judithstrachan9399 I doubt it'll be better, but hopefully "about the same"
I’d love to see a video where you do this for companions!
Chances of Jack, Mickey or Adam returning? 😬
Seeing them on screen would be nice, however lets not forget (and i know its not a medium for everyone)
We have Tom, Peter, Colin, Sylvester, Paul, Chrisopher, David, Jodie and Jo all still playing the part in Big Finish audios (Jodies will be released 2025)
We also have audios with David Bradley as the first Dotcor, Fraser Hines as the second Doctor, John Cultshaw as third Doctor and Jonathon Carley as the War Doctor. Personaly... i have to say, to me Chrisophers "Girl deconstructed" audio is one of the best episodes in all of Who.
And don’t forget they also have audios with John Hurt as the war doctor, made before he passed away.
Michael Troughton is now playing the second doctor
There has been a regeneration where the Dr did not change. David Tennent when he was shot by a Dalek.
Not all classic multi Doctor stories were anniversary stories. The Two Doctors comes to mind. It aired in February 1985 I believe.
Re: all the enemies ganging up, it was already done as well, right? Matt Smith in the Pandorica Opens? "Remember every black day I ever stopped you, and then, *and then*, do the smart thing! Let somebody else try first."
Yo Sean, welcome back! Glad to see you again😊
SHAUN IS BACK!!!!!!! YAY MY XMAS IS FINALLY COMPLETED
Always nice when we get both hosts on screen
SÉAN*
Kind of like how we aren't great fans of Les Moonves as Trekies...)
The strangest thing of all of this, we can thank two extremely non SciFi imports for all this build-up in America - Monty Python's Flying Circus and Benny Hill, both of whom were here BEFORE the Doctor (MPFC first on PBS and Benny via edited syndicated shows on UHF stations as a response to the British Comedy Wave started by MPFC). As these became popular, Time/Life partnered up with the BBC and CBS with ITV and started deluging us in everything from Across the Pond!
This is fascinating, thank you for the history and personal perspective!
Good thing we have the Magic set from last year - some of these doctor returns are only plausible there
I still feel there's a lot more of the Fugitive Doctor's story to be told, and not just on Big Finish audio.
Would I love to see Eccleston return? Absolutely yes! Do I believe that he will return? Not a Dalek's chance on Gallifray.
All I ever want in my lifetime (and before Chris’ lifetime ceases) is to see him as the doctor again in the actual show. Him and Matt Smith- at least once
DISNEY’S GONNA MAKE DAVID TENNET DO THIS UNTIL HIS 90!
I got that reference 😅🤫✌️
Hello Sean! Lovely to see you again!
Jodie will return at some point and she deserves better writing. Chances of David coming back in any shape or form (Tentoo, 14, 19… who knows) is 100% for the rest of his life. Can’t keep that nerd away and I love it.
I think we will see the metacrisis 10th Doctor again. He can get away with looking older as well.
True, he does age
personally I would rather have a special or series that only had the 8th doctor in . Paul Mcgann deserves a decent run as in my opinion he is the 4th best doctor after the 4th , 2nd , and 11th.
Agree the multiple Doctor stories should be reserved for special occasions. I'd like to see past Doctor stories more often though.
Well if Oasis can get back together and put the past behind them, surely eccleston can do the same
Yay! Sean is back!
I like Ellie but I have some sort of a crush on Sean, so everytime he’s back, I’m happy.
And also, he was the main presenter when I discovered WhoCulture: you never forget your first Doctor like you never forget your first WhoCulture presenter.
Paul McGann will get a spin off series. One day. He says. Willing it into existence.
The inmates will once again take over the asylum in some years, just like RTD and Moffat did in the early 2000s.
I agree with both of you I would like 14th Doctor to come back for an episode with River Song
I'd love to see them all return because all of them have something special about them. I'd love to see 13 and Yaz return, personally, as there was much more to their story. 9 would be amazing and I hope something can be worked out. I'll just be happy to see new episodes!
I’d love to see more of The Fugitive Doctor.
I would truly love for McGann to be back in the Tardis for a real series , hope our dreams are not in vain .
I think Mat Smith will return as the Genesis of the Valeyard
I just watched Tom’s Christmas greeting. He is looking quite frail, is unlikely to do any more Doctor.
@judithstrachan9399 that was my point as well , but thank you for the confirmation , we were trully blessed to even see him during the 50th .
Chibnall didn't touch nuwho that much during Power of the Doctor as he was expecting RTD to do a nuwho multi-Doctor esque thing for the 60th, we didn't get that. So there's a great bit of space for something like this to become the 70th.
I will never tire of multi doctor stories and I want more more more
It had kinda been proven before School Reunion, The Two Doctors had Jaime spending a lot of time with the Sixth Doctor.
Sad you didn't talk about War and Fugitive..
Id love to see Tom Baker back, he looks a lot more like he used to these days, them pics of him in costume lately are so lovely
Christopher Eccleston should be -10%
i will say this about what Ellie said @18:34 in that i wished SOOO much that they had Chris come back for the specials instead of David
Interesting that all of Ellie's feelings about the First Doctor are the same ones I always hear from the gallery about River returning.
Obviously they're wrong about River, I just thought it was funny.
Happy WhoMas! (I keep forgetting) 🎄🎄🎄
Happy Whomas!
Paul McGann getting a proper Doctor episode with his companions mentioned from the 'Big Finish' stories in the 'Night of the Doctor'. And 14th Doctor to River Song would not be "younger than she's ever seen him."
Master returns. Played by Matt Smith.
Any episode with both Ellie AND Sean is a good episode
Séan*
Sean want's to see a 12 9 story, I want to see an 11 13 story. It would be fun and weird, just the way I like my Doctor Who. Also, it'd be nice to see Jodie's Doctor written well, fingers crossed.
A 12/9 episode? You may as well bring back the war doctor! lol
Obviously!
How about multiverse with different incarnations of the Doctor's , with different origins at war with a group of evil Doctors vs good Doctors.
We adore the Pandorica episodes and the Stolen earth trilogy being like the Avengers Endgame of RTD’s first run so more of that please (bring Martha back 😂)
“Attack eyebrows and genocide “that could be the name of an episode starring 12 and nine
all i want is for jo martin's fugitive doctor to return. she immediately *felt* like the doctor, unfortunately (and i hate to say this) more so than jodie whittaker ever did imho
Christopher Eccleston has made it clear that he would be eager to return as long as RTD and certain writers are not involved
For you, the day Multiple Doctors graced your Doctor Who episode was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday
Oh, if we're doing just crazy predictions at the end for the next ten years, I'll throw this one into the ring: A Dalek wearing Cybermen armor. For whatever contrived reason or plot.
Bring Matt Smith back guys he really wants to.
I definitely agree that David could return again, if not for the main show during Ncuti's era then maybe a spinoff instead. Matt's idea of returning as the Master would be historical because that will make him the first actor to play both him and the Doctor. That one is me wishful thinking, but who knows?
Welcome back Sean Ferrick 🎉
I am not ruling out the possibility of Chris Eccleston ever coming back, they just need to be really clever in their approach.
Clever as in not try to blacklist him and treat him like crap like when he was struggling with mental health.
@tomhyde9938 Basically I would suggest one day of filming to get all his scenes done. (Obviously I would limit his part too)
Oh Ellie you look as bright as any regeneration and as beautiful as the twin sunset of Gallifrey.
So happy to see Sean back, you've been missed!!
Sean Pertwee looks and sound like his father...and an actor...
I think there is a good chance of the first doctor returning if they resolve the Susan plot thread from the 15th doctor
When Peter Capaldi returns, then I guess like Caecellious or John Forbisher in another role and connected to the 12th Doctor.
It's good to see you back Sean. We've missed these discussion videos 😊
Paul McGann 100%, the demand for his return has skyrocketed ever since the 2013 minisode and more recent cameo, he's always said he'd come back if asked.
