- Today, Wednesday, August 24, marked the reveal of the first of the Dodge ‘Last Call’ buzz models. The current Dodge Charger and Challenger are coming to an end, so these models celebrate the last year of these muscle cars. Six special-edition Challenger and Charger models will be revealed through September 21, 2022. The seventh and final 2023 Dodge model - the very last of its kind - will be revealed at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, scheduled for Nov. 1-4, 2022. In this video, we will check out the first reveal which happened today, and then take a look at the future release dates for the other 6 and what we might expect from those!

The dealers are going to jack up the prices on these so much. They're already too expensive for what they are.
I remember when the scatpack first came out the charger base was 39999 n the challenger was 37999 (or 38999). Now a base charger scatpack is 46K. So yea it's sum bs. No power upgrades or anything to justify a price bump while the gt n the ss (lt1) are much cheaper, faster, n have some sort of change to em - engine or transmission wise.

@@OnyxVenator n I was a die hard mopar guy. But a black convertible camaro with a red interior is getting my attention. I was looking at a purple challenger shaker as a droptop but that's gonna cost more than a hellcat brand new. Yes it will be very valuable in the future. But the price is outrageous n it's dodge taking advantage of the timing of this limited time opportunity. I wonder if they will still sell crate engines after this platform is over n the company that makes the challenger as a droptop will still be around
I think it’s kind of crazy to name the car “shakedown”……. A shakedown is an illegal or deceitful attempt to get money from someone, for example by swindling or blackmailing them……. Don’t be surprised if the markups exceed $100,000 because I’m already seeing scat packs at dealerships for more than $70,000…..
When Dodge says "Get Them Before They're History" they REALLY mean it...

I ordered my 2021 Challenger R/T shaker and got a VERY good price for it. Well under msrp. Many thousands under! This year I looked into trading it in for a HC and every dealership I talked with is only willing to sell one at substantially over msrp. Even on factory orders. So all of this greed and price gouging started even before the 2024 lineup announcement. Assuming/hoping that greedy dealers aren't going to once again try to ream customers who have more money than brains is myopic to say the least. I am VERY happy that I got my hemi when I did so that I can just sit out the frenzied insanity that is likely on the horizon. Would I like to order an end-of-production, fully loaded M6 Challenger? Absolutely! Am I willing to bend over and line the pockets of greedy dealerships to do so? Absolutely not.
What dealership did you get it from?
Paid $45k with 0% for my 2021 in Dec 2021. Had it built with every option I wanted. I wonder where it stacks up to your price?

The Sept 7th Challenger and Charger could be a modern version of the Mod Top Flower Power package that Dodge did on the classic versions.

I’m not a “Fan” of the Charger or Challenger but that’s just because I’m not a fan of any muscle car. However if they were going to make one of these with a big upgrade in power I’d probably be interested just because it’s the last we’ll probably see. That’s where I’m really sad; the demise of the HEMI. I’m driving an ‘05 Ram w/5.7 Hemi and I dearly love it. I’ve been driving it for 16 yrs. and 245,000+ miles. It has never failed me and the engine parts I’ve replaced are the water pump. That’s it! I have replaced virtually every part of the front steering and suspension. The rear shocks. I’m on my 5th set of tires and I’ve also never given it a Tune Up.
They’re just such well made motors!! I’ve already stockpiled another ‘05 for parts but it’s got the conventional V-8 so it’s not a source for very much on the motor.
I’d like to keep mine going till it hits a million miles but that’s probably not going to happen because of the conversion to Electric Powered Vehicles.
Al bundy, almost did it with his plymouth duster, Almost won a New Viper from Chrysler, Peg & Company had to screw it up as usual.

The ones on September 7th could be a throwback to the "mod top" cars mopar did back in the 70's. I know we don't have vinyl tops anymore but that pattern looks like a modern rendition of the mod top pattern...
Saw that coming before even unveiled. Still underwhelmed as a person who ordered a sublime shaker 392 in 2015. 8 years later special edition by dodge not even a collaboration with another company like gm and hot wheels. Would have loved a Dodge Challenger shaker fast and furious Edition or something along those lines.
Still no limited edition 300 SRT Hellcat. Oh well, it's their loss.

You hit on the head here, Shame on FCA, if they are doing this for greed because they were late to game 1968-1972. I want a 2023 Challenger R/T convertible. Plumb Crazy. Edmunds say to negotiate the convertible price because Ford Charges $5.5k For Mustang. GM charges 6k for Camaro's convertible option. This CEO is no Lee Iaccoca, Carroll Shelby or Bob Lutz.
Great video! I THINK the September 21st challenger is going to be paying homage to the black ghost. If you never heard of it check out the video on youtube or read up on it in hagerty. That would be one bad ass tribute car if they go that route.

Edit: And the 6.2 HO Challenger appears to be some sort of reptile skin. A nod to The Black Ghost, maybe? It had croc skin add-ons.
Maybe the crowns represents king Richard and his dominance of nascar with his hemi powered chariots. Hell if I really want high expectations you could even look at a real nascar appearance again from a dodge product
The asterisk cover… looks retro styling. Maybe those will get the woodgrain and avocado interiors from the SEMA show last year?

I was thinking the one looks like the Mod Top, and the other pattern looks like the gator top from 1970..
These are just gimmicks to make dealers happy as they can sell each special edition for way more than MSRP and pocket lots of profit. It also increases showroom foot traffic if promoted. Yawn……

Shakedown package is nothing new. I had it on my 2018 Shaker. The only difference is they added a badge. Just more badge engineering from Dodge.
I recently upgraded from an r/t to a scat pack a few weeks ago. If you buy, be sure and look the car over very carefully for imperfections. Mine had a chip in the front quarter panel that dealer agreed to fix. While I was going over the car with the dealership rep for the repair, I also found several areas in the clear coat where it was hazy. They agreed to fix those spots as well. He said the QC at Dodge has been very poor since covid, said one car even showed up without brakes. Anyway, got a good price and keeping this one till the grave.
You should check out our 2021 Challenger R/T scat pack widebody shaker which happens to be a one of one confirmed by FCA in 2021.
I own a 2018 Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody. I want to trade it in on the 2023 Redeye Widebody. How many will be built?
The yellow * ones should be Swinger as that was it's logo. The Crown one should be Coronet as that would represent the crown. Has nothing to do with Richard Petty as he drove mostly Plymouth's.
I can say is this is by far the best send-off a car company has ever done!

They should live on for many years, I don’t believe they affect the regulations if sold as a standalone product

Well, here we go again. Just like going to a Barrett Jackson Auction, all the deep pocket dealers and collectors will get them. The relatives and friends of the dealers will get the second choices, while the rest of us will have to settle for what's left in a free for all bidding war. We have seen it time and time again on every end of production run. Next on the " hit list" will be the Camaro ! Everyone thinks the electric car is the future ! Ha ! Long live the "HEMI" !

Its nothing more than a cheap way for Dodge to celebrate the end of an era. I hope there's a way for Dodge to limit what dealers can charge for these cars.
My dream car is always been a Dodge Charger hellcat it hurts my heart that the production is coming to end , but also I am looking forward to see what dodge has planned for the future.

These models will be around $80k if not more. I’ve been happy with my 2019 sxt and will be even happier being almost done paying it off and will boost it. If anything, I will swap engines down the road. There’s no way I’m going to get into another debt, much less for a car, paying over $800 a month. Dodge is making these for only select few.
I am having my 2012 sxt plus supercharged this tuesday. Check out the RIPP supercharger. They wind up getting the v6's to 475 HP
@@AIRSOFT24503 that’s what I’m going to do. I’ve watched and read up on them. Let me know how it feels when you get it in and going! Another thing I heard that makes a huge difference as far as using that power is a limited slip differential 3.90. Idk about the 2012s but the model I have only one wheel gets the power, with the LSD 3.90 both rear wheels spin. It’s cheaper than the ripp also. You should check that out if you haven’t already. Congrats on that achievement! That’s the best mod for power for the 3.6

@@jmkos86 yea so currently I have to bring it in Tuesday at 3pm and they told me it will be ready by Friday at 3pm. This is all next week. So they will only have my car for a few days definitely not more than a week

Guess it's too late in the game for a Hellcat 300. Possibly because such a vehicle would steal the limelight from the overpriced last call Chargers and Challengers. Opportunity missed, I say.
