Your beautiful quote... "Malaysia...a place where I feel at home...a place where I do not feel alone...a place where my belly has grown"..how could we forget you...take care & stay safe...Malaysia awaits you
Malaysia is an inviting country as I understood since my first visit in 1968. Since then I had regularly visited 14 Asian countries over the course of 40 and more years for business and lived in four countries but it is Malaysia that draws me. I have lived in Penang with my Chinese wife, married for more than 40 years, for the last 12 years. We have no regrets and remain grateful to Malaysia. Since my first visit in 1968 you remain - Malaysia. Terima kasih.
Thanks Darren for keeping us up to date with news from Malaysia. Just over a year ago we had to leave kL to return to Australia. My daughter and her family lives in Klang, so its been tough not being able to visit Malaysia since March 2020. Keep making interesting and informative videos please. Best of health to you.
The Malaysian government are without doubt the most compassionate and understanding in the world, I have been treated with the utmost kindness To thank all of the government and each of the frontline groups is a small thing but I will say My heartfelt thanks to all of Malaysia , I am so proud to have been protected by you 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Great video and it was good to get your update. I must say I got slightly emotional listening to you talk about leaving especially when knowing how much you have loved being here. However, once this pandemic has been tamed and everyone can travel again, I am sure we will all see you back again for some nasi lemak. In the meantime I look forward to seeing your upcoming videos about your travels back and life settling back into the UK. Take care Darren and stay safe. :)
It’s a tough decision, and done that I’ve thought about since beginning of the year. At least if I get the vaccines and by end of July, I should be able to make plans for new adventures.
I just stumbled on your lovely video. My husband and I had a similar story. On December 31, 2019 we arrived in Chiang Mai where we had booked an Airb&b for a month. Our plan was to travel around SE Asia for several months and as with everyone, our plans were disrupted. We were working our way down through southern Thailand on our way to Malaysia when all travel was halted last March. We ended up staying on the little island of Koh Muk for several weeks waiting for the borders to reopen which of course they never did. For a bit it looked like we might have made it into Japan where we could have stayed for 90 days but then they of course went into lockdown. In the end we flew home to New York State in April leaving the safest place in the world for the most dangerous place in terms of the virus. Like you and Malaysia, we will be forever grateful to the people of Thailand taking such good care of us at the beginning of the pandemic. We hope to return to SE Asia next winter once fully vaccinated.
Good to hear Americans traveling abroad and appreciating other cultures and races. If we could just convince the other 84% there maybe less wars. Love and peace.
I think u have had some pretty reasonable good time in spite of d long lockdown in Malaysia. Of course, it could be better without d pandemic. Safe journey back to UK. Thanks for all your vlogs. Stay good.
Darren! Good to see you are well. We returned home to Italy then U.K and regretted it a lot! Hopefully you have good plans to be reunited with family because you end up getting stuck in the UK! We're not fishing for like here, but we actually miss Malaysia a lot (and regret leaving so soon!) - fortunately we're in Sardinia now, but even getting here was tough... Glad to see you made the right decision staying for so long! Keep well!
So sad to hear you leaving Msia Darren...I hope whatever decision you make is the best for you...Hope this pandemic will subside very soon and hope Msia will open its borders again for you to come back...take care Darren, and keep staying safe..✌️💞

Then when you're back at your village or during your quarantine, you can edit those videos for us to watch. Yes, it’s certainly still safer here. The main reason for going back is to get the vaccines, which should hopefully all be done by end of July, then can plan new adventures.
