Just used this today on my 2020 f150 I've had the truck for a week, clay barred then applied the first coat, impressed with the shine already, going to apply a second coat tomorrow. So far I'm giving it a 10 out of 10 on ease of use and shine.
Wow this is a high level of OCD over the top precision. Love it man. I will try to apply 50% of your effort and hope to get 90% of the results. Griot's products are great across the board.
I’ve had good experience using it as a drying aid when the vehicle is still wet. Granted, it’s after an ONR wash, and I don’t spray the whole vehicle down. I’m doing it one wet panel at a time. Use the PFM drying towel and both the water and 3-1 come off so easily. I love this product.
This product is the best i have used in terms of durability. I have a daily driver which have been professionally ceramic coated. The ease of use is amazing. The ceramic maintenance product that is proscribe to rejuvinate the coating is not as durable. As you said in the video overloading the product can be a challenge. But a little goes a long way. In terms of gloss and slickness it is amazing. My main goal as a professional detailer is giving the customer the best service and products that will last and keep them satisfied and Griots garage 3 in 1 ceramic wax is a good product for maintenance of ceramic coating and as a stand alone protective sealant for any daily wash and paint restoration of a vehicle. Using this product do give every detail the fine look of perfection. Thanks for review and look forward for your future videos.
Spot on review. I’ve had similar experience with my use over four months now. Great tips on the towel type and application, I found the same through trial and error.
I tried it for the first time this summer. I gave my new 2023 two coats as per directions and got terrific results. Bug jerky wipes right off with little effort. The car looks great!
I like TW ceramic spray. No oversprays. Applying using mf applicator. Can do in direct sunlight. Durability is great. Topping with TW ceramic wax every wash.
Oleg Golovliov i agree...did 4 cars now, easy to apply, don't need much on each panel....too much spray makes it more difficult to buff out and adds no extra protection. Important for 1rst coat to be cured for 24hrs before 2nd coat...not sure most people follow those instructions....thus they give TW Ceramic Spray wax a bad rap...i found done right, it has high gloss and protects/lasts .....i believe...the TW 3 in 1 detailer, or TW Wt Wax offer value too ...as they help maintain the Ceramic spray coating , optionally...maybe....every 1-3 car washes?
I spontaneously (I rarely do that and especially with car care products) bought a bottle of this at a local Advance Auto. I claybarred my daily driven '17 4Runner and then applied it (I too soon figured out it required a 2 towel step). I was pretty happy with the shine and ease of application. After the first rain, I have to say I was quite impressed with the hydrophobic properties. I eventually started offering it to customers when I detail cars as a side job. The first year I applied it, it was July. The only thing I did after was coat it with a carnauba wax. I live in Michigan. We had a somewhat early snowstorm and I was amazed at how easy the snow fell off my truck and still stayed clean even after those several months.
You are 100% right about microfiber cloth. Loop pile microfiber towels are highly over rated for cleaning. I discovered this when I was cleaning 60 year old medium format slides for scanning with a microfiber cloth and alcohol. It would 90% come clean but left sticky greasy residue spots that smeared around and just would not come off completely. I showed it to my dad who commented that micro fiber towels are useless for fine cleaning and gave me a lens cleaning cloth instead and the difference was night and day. I'm sure some loop pile cloths are better than others but I'll never use loop pile microfiber towels again for cleaning things like glass or final wax wipe on a car. I think the loop pile acts like a scraper that hold onto product and smears it around if it cant wick away completely while plush pile acts more like a brush that sweeps rather than wicks with thousands more individual "bristles" than loops in contact with the surface.
I tried this after using their ome step sealant. I liked the results but put it down after having trouble removing streaks. Now that i know it could have been my towels i will resume using tomorrow. I initially replaced it with simoniz as a tester. This was 4 weeks ago, since then i rode past my clients house and the vehicle still looks like it did when i finished. Great video. Happygrinding!!!!
Used this over the weekend. Let it cure 24 hours. It’s not the MOST hydrophobic, but pretty good. It was very easy to use. Doesn’t streak when used on cool paint and out of direct sunlight. Smells great. I saw a real world durability test from a reputable TH-camr and it did very well for what it is.
I love your testing concept applying to real world scenarios works best!!!!!! Griots Garage Ceramic 3 in 1 Wax is an awesome from the ground up product and does outlast other products applied similiarly
Great review. I ordered the GG yellow decon mitt, GG plush towels and ceramic 3-1 wax. This stuff is so much easier to use than TW. The plush towels are perfect for 3-1. The slow trigger pull on stream setting is fantastic. Shine and gloss is sick on my black Cadillac. Ordered your soap for maintenance washes also.
I ran across your TH-cam channel wanted to see your intake of this product. I must say I’m impressed with your real world Analysis on detail waxing products. You head it right on the nail about other TH-cam reviewers apply wheel cleaner and degreaser agents on a car panel. That they have apply with wax, ceramic or a sealant and then test the endurance of these products by spraying acid base chemicals on them. In the real world people who actually take care and keep their vehicles maintained and clean. Who drive from home to work or just cruising in every day. Environmental conditions rain, Wind , snow and heat in the summer, cold in the winter. Are what these products were designed to give protection from. Not wheel cleaners.
great video, I am going to apply to my recently purchased 2017 Cadillac cts that will be daily driven that will be in a garage a lot of the time. The plan is to wash it twice since I don't having a foaming cannon, after the wash I will pull in the garage and dry it with towels and a leaf blower, I will detail the interior letting the car dry some more then I am going to synthetic clay bar the car, let it sit for a bit after that, then use the 3 in 1, let it sit over night then re apply the 3 in 1. Hopefully it will provide enough protection for the Chicago land winters. I realize there is no product that will stop a bullet. We get cars shot at a lot around here
This is why I love You Tube. I learn more about whatever I'm interested in faster than I ever did in school. I'm currently using Mothers's CMX (I know, I know) spray but once I run out of it this might be the way to go. These hybrid sprays make protecting a car so easy versus paste waxes and topping off the protection isn't time consuming.
Another great video and no BS review. Just wanted to mention Technicians Choice ceramic detail spray. I just picked it up and have been liking it so far. Black paint like yours so I know the struggles!!
I am a griots loyalist. My 2013 dyno blue pearl civic si is garaged but a daily driver. I was hesitant about this stuff but took the plunge. I would add that griots recommends and I did reapply an additional coat 48 hours after the first and before exposing it to weather and then giving it another 24 hours to cure. Yes it must be applied with no sun. I work only in my garage. I was interested in your experience in the duration before reapplication. Now I know for me itll be 6 months. I look forward to further reviews of griots products.
Definitely right about leaving a ceramic spray on a surface without immediately wiping it off. I made the mistake of misting my windshield with the Meguire's Ceramic Spray-On Wax and letting it haze-over (like I've done before with other spray on waxes). When I attempted to wipe it off the windshield, it solidified in small blotches and was difficult to remove. No permanent damage was done but I won't make that mistake twice.
One of the best product videos I've seen in a while. Torture tests are cool to watch but hey, I'm all about real world conditions like most working stiffs who like to care for their daily driver. You are correct the small sprayers are the best and nothing beats the smell of Griots products! I'll I'll be using 3 in 1 this weekend on my new Lexus RX350 and appreciate the application tips. 👌🏻
thanks for watching this one Mark i really wanted to spend time on this one as all others in this category failed so quickly in real world testing. let us know how you like it on the RX350 this weekend.
LOL. So another words you’re saying chemical guys products are junk. I wholeheartedly agree .I was soooo disappointed when I purchased hydro slice About eight months ago as a new product. And paid a Lot for about $46 to be exact. I only used it a couple times out of the 16 ounces I still got about 13 or 14 left so I put it on eBay to try and recover some of the money. $15 for 14 ounces not bad are used to ounces. But great review on the Griot’s. I did want to know if this product was any good or if I was going to be stuck with another chemical guys. Glad I watched this video. Now I probably will go out and buy some within the next couple days great review very good review thank you.
What would be an easy system for clay bar for someone who has never clay bar before? Also is it possible to scratch the paint during clay barring that's my biggest fear. Thanks!
I've used this on an outside kept, '20 ram 1500 and my results were mixed. After 3 months, it was still present in some places but it seemed like wasn't in others? The front suffered the worse, getting the bugs off was torture. I used the same kind of towels by The Rag Co. I went back to using CMX, even though it's application requires more labor. Caveat though is I didn't clay, polish, iron decontaminate, or use isopropyl alcohol but I've kept up with the paint & protection since day 1. I cleaned with Griot's brilliant finish & dried with their towels b4 application. But that's all I did with CMX b4 & still do. I just applied the 3rd coat of CMX in a 2 month time frame & now I'm going to use Griot's Poly Gloss in the place of applying CMX to see how long that combo will last me. I wish I could do a contact less wash 😕, but stubborn bug guts prevent that. Future wise though after the CMX has worn off, I'm thinking of switching to The Last Coat Black Ice and using their original version 2 or Griot's 3 in 1 as a maintenance topper.
Other than the protection, how does it do with masking light swirl marks? Looking to use something like this thru upcoming Chicago winter (No garage just winter/UV car cover) and plan on taking car in spring for a full detail/paint correction for 2018 Challenger Scat Pack.
Great review! I moved from Bead Maker to this and had hell once I sprayed it all over the glass 🤦🏻♂️ but, after that I've really enjoyed the products longevity. Also, I admire Griot's for being very transparent about the market and why it took them so long to enter it.
@@jaykid007 how/when would you use beadmaker with this product? Just as a drying aid? Same question with seal n shine. I like the beadmaker videos but I'm unsure when/how to use it
I really like that you can apply as much as you want and it doesn’t streak like other ceramic sprays. I feel one little squirt isn’t enough product for an entire panel. I don’t see how it could spread that far. With Griot’s that doesn’t seem to be a problem. Not being able to spray it on any surface isn’t ideal though.
I have this and the Turtle Wax CW, but I always go back to a collinite 845,and 915. These give a lot of gloss, but colonite really brings the depth. Both my cars have metallic flake, and so far none of these products make the flake pop like Colonite does. But that's what Iove about this hobby. You can try different products together, and so far my favorite was collinite 845 on lighter cars with Carpro Elixer as my quick detailer on top of the 845. The gloss, metallic pop, and depth is insane! With these two combined. I like using beadmaker as a gloss topper, but for some reason it doesn't add a ton of gloss to one specific car ,but on other cars it's also amazing. I'm a huge Griots fan, but Colonite really does it for me. Elixer is also good on its own.
thanks for sharing, try 915 with my Auto Fanatic 007 Gloss Enhancer as i show in my recent video of my Shelby GT350R its just a winning combo for years
Thanks for full coverage and issues when using it. I plan to use it as a topper on my coated car soon. Already used it a neighbor’s car and have yet to see how long it protected
Would this be safe to use on headlights and glossy plastic door trim. Griot states its fine to use on those areas in their Q&A section for this spray wax.
Great video. I should of watch your video before I started using it. I did a rinsed my car off with water. Then apply the 3in1 wax while it was not dry. BAD MISTAKE! I see residue after drying it. I have to clay the entire car to get rid of the haze. Learn my lesson. Again great video!
This stuff works super. Question: In your opinion, do you feel this product, and other products like this, will make traditional waxes and sealants obsolete?
I just got this product with my griots garage g8/g9 polishers. What strip wash did you use? I saw your video with the griots garage solution but you said it was not a pleasant experience. Just wondering what product you used for this one.
Cool review Phil. I just order the Griots G8 and G9 ORBITAL 2-STEP CERAMIC KIT. It includes the G8 and G9 and the Ceramic Wax. Thanks for the indepth products reviews.
I enjoy it! Realized that in the sun it caused a bit of streaking for me, but in the shade it is AMAZING. Durability wise it is AWESOME! Is there a product you can put on top to help eliminate dust (anti-static)?...currently using another product but would like to keep it in the family.
Great review! I just bought a brand new 2019 Ford Expedition Limited and performed the prep and applied 2 coats of this product and I have been happy with it as well. It is garaged and daily driven. However, I do not have a pressure washer and have had 1 contact wash with it. It was pretty easy to clean off after washing with garden hose. Additionally, I applied this to my wife's 2018 Acura RDX and her car has definitely popped since application.
We notice even in the rain the car stays so much cleaner than it did when it did not have this product applied and for me thats a double win as the weather seems to rain almost every day lately.
@@autofanaticcars thanks for the response! And yes, the water literally jumps off my hood during rain pour when I am up to speed! Thanks again for this review as I almost got the Chemical Guys product but it was a $40 delta. Your review solidified my pick of Griots Garage!
Just applied this tonight on my Crosstrek that is left outside the garage. Used it as my test run before I put it on my Mustang tomorrow(garage rarely driven). Will let you know how it progresses, but really the application and look is really great. I started off with the Syn Clay from Griots with speed shine, then the prewax cleaner to prep. Looks really good.
I found that the application is best with a damp microfiber applicator then come back with the edgeless towel for the final buff (Apex Detail) saves tons of product
I tested on some wheels but I feel it will not withstand the heat and corrosive nature of brake dust, can be used a a nice topper if you wheels are ceramic coated and I have tested it in that regard and like it a lot. I have not tried graphene yet its too new to market and I kinda have the same theory as my buddy Pan to wait for more big names to bring this technology to market before we compare to Sio2.
Nice video Phil!!! I put on 3n1 on my ‘18 GTD back in Feb here in Italy- went through snow, rain, and in the past month sun & heat and it just needs now to be reapplied. Driving on the Italian Autostrada at 130 mph after having 3n1 applied while raining hard was cool it would just almost dry itself! Good product Phil! Gotta try your wheel cleaner & your 007 snowfoam! My car is mostly kept under a carport- 3n1 I think needs to be reapplied now ( I have 2 coatings applied 1 day apart) it’s about 4 months!
Excellent video! You're so thorough and you answered most of the questions I had. I've been wanting to find something that would enable me to do quick, contact-less, washes and now you've shown me a way to accomplish it. I'd already purchased the Griots Ceramic but hadn't applied it yet. Again, you gave great recommendations for how to prep my car and apply the product. Did I understand you correctly that after you had stripped the car, you then clayed each panel and applied the ceramic and then moved to the next panel? So you would complete each panel (clay, rinse, dry, apply ceramic, buff) before moving to the next panel? If so, that totally makes sense to me because where I live (northwest) I have so many trees that I can't dry my car before there's pollen or something that has fallen out of the trees. So, going panel by panel enables me to get it clayed and applied before there's time for more crap to fall on it.
Thanks for the thorough review. I plan on using this product on our new vehicle. I see that you have to prep the vehicle before using this product. Can you please list the products you use to prep the vehicle and order of use? Our vehicle is less than a month old, has a Black exterior, if this matters. Thank you .
I just two-coated my weekend car with this product and due to my age (64), I am literally tiring (and aching!) from doing a pro wash, dry, and quick spray every time. I have found that no-touch washes without a good protectant on the finish always end up with a film of road grime. Do you believe you can do contactless washes (foam canon and rinse) without leaving any film on a finish with this product? Also, I didn’t clay bar first. Do you think it will last as long?
Thank you for the video. It's very helpful! As a newbie (amateur) who just wants to protect my new vehicle (Lexus ES350), would this be a good choice if I haven't applied a ceramic coating? I don't mind waxing regularly but if there is an easier way to protect the car then that seems like a no brainer. Again, I appreciate the video and any advice you could give. Thank you.
This works well but application very tedious and there are better products out now since this video. We created our own ceramic spray sealant called Hyper Gloss visit out website to learn more .. www.auto-fanatic
I just received my bottle in the mail. So after application. Is it ok to wash and dry your car like usual. With a microfiber cloth. Or do I need to spray and use a blower like you demonstrated
Like the tips about application, since it's a spray application you have to be careful for adjacent panels, glasses, door handles. I'm use to apply ceramic coating using an applicator/sponge. How about spray on plastic wheel well liner or lower part of front & rear bumper, sometimes it's kinda rubbery.
Very good video, i am going to get the Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax and try it. I did use Adams same thing and was pretty happy with it but I like to use different products. Once again a very good video I did learn a few things about this product that I did liike, thanks for the video.
Great video and review. May go to this after trying one of Pan's suggestions. Have you tried any of the Car Candy Products? They are out of FL and have some nice products. Thanks and look forward to more videos.
Great vid! I’ve been using the TW ceramic spray because there was a lot of hype around it. But after using it for a few months it was just okay. The griots seems great tho! I’ll have to try it next.
Love Griots products. Have had a lot of smudging/hazing issues using this particular product on my cars gray enamel paint tho. Even after fully cleaning the surfaces of any other products. Weird!
Love your honest review. Have you tried TW ceramic wet wax? Extremely good topper, better overall product than the TW ceramic spray despite being different class groups
did not like any of the TW products which is why i never did a video, no longevity, horrible scent and it just did not perform as well as this product. i tested all of them
Loved the video and so glad to hear you enjoyed the Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax!
Thanks again!

thanks for watching this one Mark i really wanted to spend time on this one as all others in this category failed so quickly in real world testing. let us know how you like it on the RX350 this weekend.
I currently have this on my personal vehicles with collinite and jescar powerlock underneath, I've been wiping down with meguiars d156 after wash
Thanks!
Super educational! Already bought a bottle on Amazon but I'll buy my next one thru your link.
I see your car has that plastic trim near the bottom like mine does. This being a wax product, does it cause white residue?
Also, I admire Griot's for being very transparent about the market and why it took them so long to enter it.
thanks for sharing your feedback so far. Enjoy it
Beadmaker still awesome and I don’t believe contains wax so different product.
@@jaykid007 how/when would you use beadmaker with this product? Just as a drying aid?
Same question with seal n shine. I like the beadmaker videos but I'm unsure when/how to use it
14:25 why not just spray directly on the towel? Reduces over spray completely and you can prime the towel so all fibers are coated with the product.
Glad it was helpful!
Would this be safe to use on headlights and glossy plastic door trim. Griot states its fine to use on those areas in their Q&A section for this spray wax.
Awesome info on the towels. Extremely important.
Glad it was helpful!
Question: In your opinion, do you feel this product, and other products like this, will make traditional waxes and sealants obsolete?
just picked up a bottle today. I LOVE the Griot's Plush Edgeless Towels. Pretty much ALL I use on my motorcycles.
Good stuff!
Excellent review! Just purchased and used on my garaged 2002 JCW Mini Cooper. Results so far are excellent.
Great video! Love Griot’s!
Thanks for watching!
Will you update this using the Speed Shine Ceramic as a Detailer to keep in clean frequently?
this stuff 8s the best affordable sealant for durable high gloss and drying aide. hands down
Thank you for the video! After applying I go back and clean the windows and mirrors.
I just got this product with my griots garage g8/g9 polishers. What strip wash did you use? I saw your video with the griots garage solution but you said it was not a pleasant experience. Just wondering what product you used for this one.
What about spraying the product on a microfiber applicator first and then wiping it on? Have you tried that method and of so, what were the results?
Cool review Phil. I just order the Griots G8 and G9 ORBITAL 2-STEP CERAMIC KIT. It includes the G8 and G9 and the Ceramic Wax. Thanks for the indepth products reviews.
Good choice!
Dude! I purchased your foaming tire cleaner!!!! It’s the best I’ve found!!!
Great to hear!
I enjoy it! Realized that in the sun it caused a bit of streaking for me, but in the shade it is AMAZING. Durability wise it is AWESOME! Is there a product you can put on top to help eliminate dust (anti-static)?...currently using another product but would like to keep it in the family.
What can you use to maintain the longevity of the ceramic spray
Nice video I would suggest putting some type of thin padding at the end of the blower to protect from a potential bump into the body of the vehicle 👍🏻
Nice work!
Great video. Highly informative.
I found that the application is best with a damp microfiber applicator then come back with the edgeless towel for the final buff (Apex Detail) saves tons of product
Excellent video.
How well does this stuff work on plastic trim and rims?
Also, have you tried any of the new graphene-based protectants?
Subscribed and liked based on great information and delivery of information.... And because Alfa Romeo!
Yes that is exactly how I did it. let me know how you like it and enjoy the process and have fun
Thanks for the thorough review. I plan on using this product on our new vehicle. I see that you have to prep the vehicle before using this product. Can you please list the products you use to prep the vehicle and order of use? Our vehicle is less than a month old, has a Black exterior, if this matters. Thank you .
Thanks man! I put it on my dad’s truck last night. Now to top it off with Best of Show Spray Wax. I don’t have a pressure washer.
Good stuff!
I like the long test you do
I just two-coated my weekend car with this product and due to my age (64), I am literally tiring (and aching!) from doing a pro wash, dry, and quick spray every time.
I have found that no-touch washes without a good protectant on the finish always end up with a film of road grime. Do you believe you can do contactless washes (foam canon and rinse) without leaving any film on a finish with this product?
Also, I didn’t clay bar first. Do you think it will last as long?
Is this product easier to apply than, say, Adam's Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating?
all sprays or toppers spray onto the towel then apply.. to avoid applying product to a section your not buffing off immediately
Great tip!
Very good video, i am going to get the Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax and try it. I did use Adams same thing and was pretty happy with it but I like to use different products. Once again a very good video I did learn a few things about this product that I did liike, thanks for the video.
Glad it was helpful!
Can I wash with regular soap or do I need a special product to wash the car after applying this 3 in 1?
Great video and review. May go to this after trying one of Pan's suggestions. Have you tried any of the Car Candy Products? They are out of FL and have some nice products. Thanks and look forward to more videos.
Great vid! I’ve been using the TW ceramic spray because there was a lot of hype around it. But after using it for a few months it was just okay. The griots seems great tho! I’ll have to try it next.
Can you spray it directly to the towel instead?
Love Griots products. Have had a lot of smudging/hazing issues using this particular product on my cars gray enamel paint tho. Even after fully cleaning the surfaces of any other products. Weird!
Most high concentration sio2 products do this and can be tricky to get the application just right. You might want to try a different style microfiber
Love your honest review. Have you tried TW ceramic wet wax? Extremely good topper, better overall product than the TW ceramic spray despite being different class groups
did not like any of the TW products which is why i never did a video, no longevity, horrible scent and it just did not perform as well as this product. i tested all of them
Fantastic review. Great presentation aswell.
Glad you liked it!
Super informative, thank you!
How long does it last?
And you use this product over paint protective film?
After you decontaminate and clay the paint, don’t you need to polish the paint before you apply this product?
