It's like being disappointed that your chocolate didn't have more vanilla flavor...I don't understand why the video is testing a low sud wash with a foam cannon and then complaining about no foam.
@@WillHeineman Its because the reviewer has already made up his mind that a no-contact high-foam wash is better than a bucket wash regardless of actual end results (aka facts). What we learn here is if you do bucket wash, a high foam product is simply NOT required to attain excellent results. We also learned that the old squeaking finger test is meaningless.
All ceramic infused soaps don’t sud like a traditional soap. Perfectly normal. Suds are not needed as long as it’s providing lubrication. We are just so used to seeing foam as in important attribute in the states. Looks like it did what it claims.
It’s all a marketing gimmick for the detailing products companies. More foam doesn’t equal more cleaning power unless it’s more powerful but even with that. It still doesn’t take off all the grime until you do contact wash
It definitely did what it was supposed to do. Add protection and leave some gloss as well. Griots was honest and transparent about it being low sudsing so I don't really understand the disappointment. It's true to its label. Great video 👍🏻
I'm confused. You're disappointed that a product is doing EXACTLY what the manufacturer said it would do. Low suds means low suds. Why were you so surprised? Nice car though. I highly suggest getting some protection on that paint in the near future.
Ive watch multiple videos already, most detailer youtubers hates how its not foamy enough. Yes it removes dirts etc but not a lot of dirt compare to other more foamy products. Also i did research that the more foam/soap it is, the better.
It's not staying sudsy (and no ceramic washes stay sudsy) BECAUSE of the silicone compounds in it. Silicone compounds are purposely added to some chemicals, soaps, and especially waterless washes as defoamers. They have low surface tension, which not only helps repel water, but also doesn't allow bubbles to stay formed. Foam adds slickness to low or otherwise not so slick soap mixtures by creating surface tension and a barrier between a mitt and the car. Foam isn't necessary if the soap is still slick enough without it, tho it does help a little more to prevent scratches. Foam is more necessary when it comes to decontamination and especially wax stripping using high alkaline soaps since it will stick to the car longer allowing it to do it's thing without drying quickly either. It's not 100% necessary for slickness to prevent scratches, but helps, and not at all necessary to remove grime nor does it promote the removal of grime no matter what marketers want you to believe. It doesn't "encapsulate and lift away", but it can allow grime, contams, wax, etc to be exposed to moisture longer, to be moved away easier with water or a mitt. Since ceramic washes behave this way like in the video, best practice is to not waste product in a foam cannon. Use the foam cannon with your normal soap as a no-touch wash by spraying on, allowing to dwell, and thoroughly rinsing off as a decontamination and presoak step prior to using the Ceramic Wash with a 2 bucket method, or single bucket using multiple mitts and towels (like 6 to 12) since it doesn't dilute the Ceramic wash more and ensures a truly clean mitt or towel every panel. If you don't believe me about the defoaming properties, look up the SDS sheets for most popular new age waterless washes and waterless wash and waxes. They will all contain some form of silicone/siloxane compound at a low concentration of like 0.5%-5% depending on if it's a wash or wash and wax version.
Knowing it leaves a protection behind I didn't have expectations it would foam well. I used a prewash citrus foam, carpro reset as contact wash followed by wash and coat in foam cannon as a second contact wash and ceramic speed shine as a drying aid. Fantastic results on a salt and road grime covered black f150.
Talked to Griots this morning......this is doing exactly what they told me it would do. I used their ceramic coating.....very awesome. I ordered it for additional longevity of the ceramic coating
I just used this on a detail. Wasn’t getting a lot of foam and was like WTF! 🤣 But I adjusted it says to apply and wash quickly! So after my first fail I foamed half then washed. Then used the griots 3-1. Great results!
It was squeaky after the application because the product has to set up for a bit. Then it becomes slick. Just like the ceramic spray wax they offer, it does the same thing. It works amazing by the way.
I have not used this product yet but griots is all I use. They did state when announced that it wouldn't foam as much as other products. Looks like it got the job done to me those. Love the car.
I've used this on my car and I'm really happy with it for my intended purpose. The car has a couple of coats of Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax that are a few months old, so the hydrophobic properties are starting to go. So I use my normal wash foam first, rinse the car, and then use Ceramic Wash & Coat more like how Griot's Foaming Poly Gloss is used.. I just spray it on, quickly run a wash mit over the paint (since the car is already clean), then spray the product off. It works great to build onto my existing Ceramic 3-in-1, and as you saw, it adds more shine and hydrophobic properties. It serves my base coat well. It's nice that Ceramic Wash & Coat washes, I guess, but I'm happy with my existing car wash soap. This new product just makes it really easy to add further protection to my car, including on glass, trim, etc.
thanks for sharing your experience I was under the assumption that this would be a single step product so using one foam to wash and this to add protection makes total sense as a 2 step process. i think they need to change their marketing as such because for anyone thinking this would be ideal for contact wash will be disappointed in the foam output but yes it does leave a nice protective gloss and layer similar to Poly Gloss but Poly Gloss offers zero cleaning action and the gloss does not last much.
The low sudsing is a weird experience, but as others say, it's not necessarily important. I also think it feels more like Foaming Poly Gloss, though. I'm in Griot's home town and have known people there for 15 years. I think they felt like they needed a wash and coat product. It certainly works, but I feel like it works just fine as a last step to build up protection as well. I do think their marketing has been a little weak. It washes, but not as great as their other wash products. It coats, but not like Ceramic 3-in-1 (obviously). It's probably longer lasting than Foaming Poly Gloss. Maybe they just have more products and are trying to figure out how to fit them into their marketing without talking our products down. Foaming Poly Gloss is a great product, but if this lasts longer and works better over existing ceramic sprays or coatings, then that's really where the marketing should go. Either way, it seems to be a really easy way to build on existing protection. Griot's is always about ease of use, being generally safe to use, and doing what the bottle says it does. I think this product accomplishes that.
@@autofanaticcars I also wanted to point out that when they say "remove the metering tip", they mean one of those colored plastic tips that insert into the metal ball. Don't remove the ball itself. I don't know if that affected your test. Griot's just released a video explaining how they use Surface Wash first, then Ceramic Wash & Coat after (and also show removing the metering tip and keeping the metal ball on).
the metal ball is just a weight so the silicone tube in the foam cannon stays at the bottom submerged that had no effect on my test but glad to see they updated their video on this product now most likely after seeing my video and the comments. i wish they told us all from the start this was a step 2 product and not a single step product. Foaming Surface Wash then Ceramic Wash and Coat and this eliminate the expensive Poly Gloss in their BOSS Foam system completely.
Going off what all was said in the video & comments & I just used it as poly gloss. I measured it out in my foam cannon, applied, let it dwell for 2 mins, & rinsed. I would have left it longer but didn't want it to streak. It still left a coating without having to agitate. Which I figured would be the case because the vehicle is already clean & agitation doesn't "activate" the ceramic properties. Maybe spread it around for an even application sure, but I'd think that's what a nice, thick layer of foam would do too. Guess I'll find out how long this will last. It was sprayed on 1 coat of 3 in 1 that was previously old, endured days of snow, ice, & almost nonstop rain.
I had a similar feeling applying it with their foamer on my white Porsche 911. I did not see any foam so I wasn't really sure if the product was doing something or not. I ended going back to the traditional wash from Griot's after I finished the bottle.
That wheel woolie on the extendable wand is pretty slick. Did you make that yourself? You need to look into adding something like that to your line of products. That actually might sell pretty well.
Used the product and definitely a fan. I did wash with a different soap with heavier suds and follow up with the ceramic wash and only using this in between wash. The coating applied appears to hold up decently.
Appreciate the video! I have never liked any of the soaps that add gloss enhancers or 'ceramic' properties. They all seem like gimmicks. I prefer soaps to clean and if I want to add gloss enhancements then use a product specific to it. You can do a little of everything good or okay with a product. Or do it right with the right products and take a little extra time.
these ceramic soaps leave a rubbery film on the paint which i do not like much. You need to try my 007 Snowstorm soap it is amazing and really performs
Ceramic infused shampoos are definitely not intended to clean filthy cars. They're meant to add a small layer of protection quickly and easily. If a run into a super dirty car, I was it with a stronger soap that I can over dilute and then follow up with a ceramic shampoo. Griots is one of the best I've found especially for the price. Ethos and Turtle Wax are the 2 other options that work well if you can't get your hands on this one.
the Ethos one was decent from all the ones ive tested and foamed excellent but the Jay Leno's Ceramic soap was my favorite for hitting all the target criteria thats why this Griots Soap was kinda a let down with the lack of foam regardless of what they say it does because other products in this category do foam really good.
It's really meant to add onto existing protection, though it can be used like in this video as well. If your car has any ceramic-based protection left, this product will do a good job of adding to that protection.
No ceramic soap keeps suds thats just how it is with the chemistry. While it may not be sudsy it’s still slick and is doing what’s it’s advertised to do.
And honestly the Griots and Meguiars ceramic wash and coat work extremely well considering they’re just soaps. They’re not meant to be the main protection on the vehicle rather a booster for existing protection, they would work great for ceramic coating maintenance
Exactly like poly gloss but with some cleaning capabilities. I’ll stick with 007 snow storm and use this as a topper after I wash and rinse. Would be good for the other vehicle that doesn’t get the garage.
yeah my soap blows many and this away in self cleaning and the gloss protection but i just expected more from this product as they mentioned they tested 70 formulas before releasing this. This kinda reminds me of the ceramic products that came out a year ago from the big brands to spray and wash off etc.
Car was clean except for light dust. Put this in foam cannon let it dwell then rinsed off. Gloss on the black vehicle was sick. Easier than detail spray for a full size SUV.
Most, if not all SiO2 soaps, don’t suds very much. Supposed to still be plenty of lubrication and protection but you don’t see suds. I’m not a fan, CarPro Reset is still my soap of choice.
was not expecting the suds to vanish so quick most ceramic soaps i used held onto the foam much longer. none of these are considered a snow foam but this one fizzled out the fastest from all the ones i tested.it does work well to add gloss and protection 100% go watch the Chemical Guys Hydro Suds video i did on the channel months back, similar type soap.
One of the folks at Griot's told me that exact same thing. Just got a BOSS foam cannon, they said to use the Foaming Surface wash to get a good clean, then surface prep, and then apply 3 in 1 ceramic. As a way to do some light cleaning in between, without stripping away too much of the wax, to use this wash. Makes sense. I don't think this is made to REALLY clean your car, but rather some quick touch-up. I'm excited to use it. Their 3 in 1 is fantastic, and if I can prolong it's properties by using this wash, I'm all for it!
@@autofanaticcars No hope for this product. Not good for a contact wash and any good drying agent like 007 or bead maker is easy enough to apply that why bother with this stuff.
I use there other soap (the pink one) hose and bucket method and it doesn't sud up heavy at all either, but it definitely does the job. I like their products.
I used Dr. Beasley's ceramic coat shampoo not much suds either better to use after say foam the car and do a contact wash with say Ca Pro Reset then foam with a ceramic shampoo let dwell then rinse to boost the ceramic coat on the car. I tried some but not something I buy again . I also have used Polish Angel version also and it had little suds.
hey brother do you think this soap on a matte car wrap will be ideal? just because it has gloss and im sure on matte your not suppose to add gloss to it or am i wrong brother anyways i appreciate this video really good information!
Hydro Suds offers better self cleaning where as Griots does not offer any self cleaning but more gloss and a different type of protection they both work fairly well the Griots seems to be the better value
when you mix a soap that has a high concentration of polymers and poly siloxanes it actually makes the foaming worse so its tricky based on chemistry how they will react. I myself have tried to add other soaps and it did not help so I moved on from using this product i feel there are far better ceramic infused soaps that foam amazing on the market such as Ethos, Chemical Guys and Lenos Garage Ceramic soaps.
It’s funny you keep saying not much suds but that’s what it’s supposed to be it doesn’t create a lot of suds as described by Griots and and it did what it had to do wash the car and left behind a coat of protection seems. It seems to have worked the car looks great. If you’re looking for high suds and a lot of foam Griots make these as well. Most if not all ceramic washes do not make a lot of suds but I have high levels of lubrication so the paint does not get scratched.
go watch the video on Griots site it shows this product foaming quite well whether that is a fudged marketing video or not the results were far different than mine. yes it works but i would not consider this a wash soap more of less a second step coating
@@autofanaticcars I actually watched it right after your posting to see what they said about it and when they sprayed it on the car using their foam cannon that they make it was runny just like yours didn’t see much difference.
not true try the Jay Lenos Ceramic Soap, Ethos Ceramic, Adams Ceramic and Chemical Guys and others all ceramic soaps and mega snow foam, this Griots soap is a let down.
yes it is the chemistry for sure as we also experimented with this ourselves in the test lab developing soaps and i objected to ever wanting to put out a soap that did not foam well. there are so many easier ways to get an Si02 topper after you wash the car which is why we recently updated our 007 Gloss Enhancer to the new Ceramic Hydro Gloss version.
Can’t find a video you posted about griots foam surface prep; Anyways I tried it out this morning it’s completely trash I’m talking about removing grime and road film and crap like that sorry for my Bad language but water was till beading after 2 foam applications no cleaning qualities at all what did I did wrong? And maybe my sense of smell is not good or i it’s dead couldn’t smell very much the fragance you said it was kind of stinky maybe I bought a fake product?
Griots literally saying this product is low-suds: “Why is this not foaming?” Foam doesn’t make a product better or worse. Optimum No Rinse is highly lubricated and makes no suds. Foaming is just a bi-product of soaps, not necessarily an indicator of whether it has high lubricity.
yes but this is not a waterless wash product it is marketing as a soap and being used in a foam gun or cannon i had to add 12oz to get even remotely decent foam and i have a professional pressure washer with 2.5 GPM
Please put a link up or tell me what the tool is that you use to clean your wheels and brakes with? I’m a tall guy so I would love a wheel woolie/brush like that.
Kinda feels like the 5 in 1 shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, lotion stuff! Not sure if stuff can do multiple different things well. Still seems better to have a dedicated product for different things. But I’m SO GLAD there’s channels like yours to show & educate us on this stuff! Also does something NEED to have suds to be a good cleaner, or is it kinda a placebo effect?
foam suds are supposed to be for lubrication and to encapsulate abrasive dirt particles so with lack of im not sure but then again many of those waterless wash products operate on the same theory of no foam but high lubrication
same thing its a microfiber mitt on a telescoping pole eliminates bending and makes washing 50% faster i sell these on my web store at auto-fanatic.com
Just in case there are more slow people like the ones that made this video, what you’re supposed to do is take a soap, I use griots pink bottle of wash soap, clean the entire vehicle and then dry it, I then use the foam cannon with the ceramic foam wash and then do section by section and use a sponge to work the ceramic wash into the vehicle so it lasts longer. Just for the outside I charge $60 for the wash and then the ceramic foam wash.
yes but they do claim it does clean the car which I think other products would do a much better job of that. they make a product called Foaming Poly Gloss which does almost the same thing as this product but actually foam up well and its only goal is to enhance shine and protection. The Poly Gloss is expensive and maybe this is why this new product was introduced at a significant price differential
@@autofanaticcars there is still no reason that a product that gives your car hydrophobic properties would be put on and you just expect it to magically clean car
Because that'll never clean the car as much as a good scrub, and also this foam has ceramic on it which coates the car like wax, protects better and lasts longer than wax .
Great execution as always, I appreciate your honesty in the vids 👍🏻 I’m in the marked for a new foam gun for trying your snow foam, which do you recommend? TIA and keep em coming.

I would use this primarily in a wash bucket anyway....
And then you went from bottom up, probably bringing high contamination from the road to the higher bits of the car.
Griots Garage actually recommends foaming from the bottom up.
I wonder what would happen if you mix this with Grios car wash soap in your bucket.
Where did you get that black and green long handle rim cleaning brush? That thing is awesome.
I custom make them in sets if you visit my website
@@autofanaticcars Went to your website. I found them. Thanks.
Clearly worked as it should. Don't really understand the disappointment with low foam or suds when the bottle clearly says "low sudsing formula"
was not expecting the suds to vanish so quick most ceramic soaps i used held onto the foam much longer. none of these are considered a snow foam but this one fizzled out the fastest from all the ones i tested.it does work well to add gloss and protection 100% go watch the Chemical Guys Hydro Suds video i did on the channel months back, similar type soap.
Its better to use warm water for foam cannon they say it helpa it foam up..
i tried both ways with this product and did not notice any difference
@@autofanaticcarsprobly formulated that way..not so foam as much
its looks good, so glossy
What is the wheel cleaning pole/brush you are using? It looks like it is a real back saver.
I don’t know it looks so freaking shiny maybe because it’s brand new
This product will make your car a dust magnet. You need to finish it with a detailing/ drying aid spray to add slickness.
Good review, looks like it would be good as a maintenance wash soap on ceramic coated cars. 👍✌️
LOL, 12 OZ ? Pretty much kills cost/wash calculation.
I used about 20oz just to shoot the video, the foam was so pathetic first round I just loaded up plus what was in the bucket.
@@autofanaticcars No hope for this product. Not good for a contact wash and any good drying agent like 007 or bead maker is easy enough to apply that why bother with this stuff.
I will use this when the car is dusty because I can just foam/dwell/rinse!/dry....done👍👍
Ditto. Gonna buy a pump up sprayer to keep from having to drag out my pressure washer.
I use there other soap (the pink one) hose and bucket method and it doesn't sud up heavy at all either, but it definitely does the job. I like their products.
Are you using a pressure washer to foam the car or regular water hose
Professional electric pressure washer
What a gorgeous car!! 💎 Sounds beastly 💪
Thanks for sharing. 👊
i will be doing as full review on a few of these Mopars in the coming weeks.
hey brother do you think this soap on a matte car wrap will be ideal? just because it has gloss and im sure on matte your not suppose to add gloss to it or am i wrong brother anyways i appreciate this video really good information!
Which is better? The griots or the chemical guys hydro suds?
Hydro Suds offers better self cleaning where as Griots does not offer any self cleaning but more gloss and a different type of protection they both work fairly well the Griots seems to be the better value
It’s amazing that a review would entail hearing idk
Used the one advertising o . TV. Worked great..last a long time and shine..🙌🙌😍
Could you say mix this soap with another soap to get it more sudsy ?
when you mix a soap that has a high concentration of polymers and poly siloxanes it actually makes the foaming worse so its tricky based on chemistry how they will react. I myself have tried to add other soaps and it did not help so I moved on from using this product i feel there are far better ceramic infused soaps that foam amazing on the market such as Ethos, Chemical Guys and Lenos Garage Ceramic soaps.
why they say to use distilled water for snow foam mixture
100% not needed and distilled water has zero effect on foam output as i have tried that. my water source is filtered 3 times before the garage
Bilt Hamber is a fantastic product for pre saok rinse and especially in the foam cannon, if you haven't tried Bilt Hamber u are surely missing out
It’s funny you keep saying not much suds but that’s what it’s supposed to be it doesn’t create a lot of suds as described by Griots and and it did what it had to do wash the car and left behind a coat of protection seems.
Any si02 shampoo is going to be low foam. Literally states it on the bottle.
not true try the Jay Lenos Ceramic Soap, Ethos Ceramic, Adams Ceramic and Chemical Guys and others all ceramic soaps and mega snow foam, this Griots soap is a let down.
No suds just like the Turtle Wax Ceramic Soultions Wash and Wax. Not really hard to figure out why. The Si02 is what interfers with the suds.
yes it is the chemistry for sure as we also experimented with this ourselves in the test lab developing soaps and i objected to ever wanting to put out a soap that did not foam well. there are so many easier ways to get an Si02 topper after you wash the car which is why we recently updated our 007 Gloss Enhancer to the new Ceramic Hydro Gloss version.
Love the color
I love your headlight!
Griots literally saying this product is low-suds:
“Why is this not foaming?”
Foam doesn’t make a product better or worse.
@@autofanaticcars it doesn't need foam for the wash though, the silicone in it is the lubricant
It’s a ceramic soap what did you ceramic. Foam is not thick they don’t make shaving cream texture
What is that washing tool with the pole you used on the roof?
How do you think this would/does fit in with using their surface wash and poly gloss?
that im not sure because the Poly Gloss might not mesh well with this new product you may want to contact them to ask their opinion
How you get all your side markers yellow bro?

Will mixing this with other snow foam product for contact wash better? Like more lubcation and more sud.
not sure if mixing is a good idea or not based on chemistry
which camera did you use?
Yup did exactly what the manufacturer stated. And your boy got combat boots on. 😂
Does washing with that washing mitt thingy works? I’ve always been a believer in hand washing instead.
same thing its a microfiber mitt on a telescoping pole eliminates bending and makes washing 50% faster i sell these on my web store at auto-fanatic.com
this bro keeps saying somewhat disappointing or bad about the wash but actually the result looks fantastic xD
Yo like the video
Where did you get that wash mop from ?
It looks like the one Griots sells.
I've used their spray wax and was not happy with it..it leaves smugg marks on the car..it does have a nice smell tho.
You used too much. Half a spray per panel is all that is needed.
Where can I get your wheel brushes? Those look like back and life savers!
there not cheap i offer them on my website auto-fanatic.com
my 07 Honda got the same headlight tint but for free and overtime
Just in case there are more slow people like the ones that made this video, what you’re supposed to do is take a soap, I use griots pink bottle of wash soap, clean the entire vehicle and then dry it, I then use the foam cannon with the ceramic foam wash and then do section by section and use a sponge to work the ceramic wash into the vehicle so it lasts longer. Just for the outside I charge $60 for the wash and then the ceramic foam wash.
PSA: IT’S A LOW SUDS FORMULA BECAUSE ITS NOT FOR ACTUALLY CLEANING THE CAR, IT’S TO GIVE THE CAR HYDROPHOBIC PROPERTIES
yes but they do claim it does clean the car which I think other products would do a much better job of that. they make a product called Foaming Poly Gloss which does almost the same thing as this product but actually foam up well and its only goal is to enhance shine and protection. The Poly Gloss is expensive and maybe this is why this new product was introduced at a significant price differential
@@autofanaticcars there is still no reason that a product that gives your car hydrophobic properties would be put on and you just expect it to magically clean car
What is the wheel brush?
i custom make them, sold on my web shop
You really should have sprayed the foam off with the HP gun BEFORE contact washing.
Really.
Exactly
The most satisfying thing on car wash is the foam no foam no fun

Can this be used on a coated car?
What buckets and dirt trap /grit guards are you using?

What shut-off valve are you using with your hose nozzle?
Griots hose nozzle kit they sell i like it but do not love the low PSI it offers but its a great piece of kit overall for quality.

what kind of pressure washer do you use?

Do u know what brand of lowering springs this kitty has ?
Eibach Sportline
@@autofanaticcars thanks is owner happy with ride ? I heard H&r give. Better stiffer ride
its stiff but feels ok because these cars have really good shock valving
Greetings, what pressure machine do you use and where do I get it? Thank you 🙏
Check description I have videos on this channel from a few months back
@@autofanaticcars thanks 🙏
Why foam? Why not just do one thorough rinse top to bottom with the pressure washer ?
Because that'll never clean the car as much as a good scrub, and also this foam has ceramic on it which coates the car like wax, protects better and lasts longer than wax .
2oz of soap per gallon in a bucket wash. You needed about double the soap you used I think.
Are you gonna test their ceramic speed shine ?
way ahead of you on that i was testing it prior to us finishing our hydro gloss product.
@@autofanaticcars and what was your thoughts on that matter?
Great execution as always, I appreciate your honesty in the vids 👍🏻 I’m in the marked for a new foam gun for trying your snow foam, which do you recommend? TIA and keep em coming.
best foam guns are made by Gilmour if you want a foam cannon for the pressure washer there are many out there that all work find depending on budget.
