      With the orchestrated, Cost of Living Crisis, everything has gone up in price.
      Couple of months ago, the supermarket chains all colluded together to forced the prices and what?, they are blaming Russia.

    In Russia, you must buy your bags too.
    And the carts are different than in America. In America only the front wheels rotate. In Russia, all four wheels rotate.
    The first time I went shopping in Russian supermarket I kept spinning around.😅
    After I became accustomed to it, I found I preferred it.

    • @Укрыниксы
      @Укрыниксы ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But in Ukraine, only the right wheels of the carts rotate. Therefore, buyers all go in the same direction, in a circle counterclockwise. А на Украине колёса у тележек вращаются только правые, поэтому покупатели идут организованно по кругу, против часовой стрелки.

    • @abc123fhdi
      @abc123fhdi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have to pay for bags in the US also or bring your own. As far as 4 wheel turning, depends, maybe at the American grocery stores but some smaller ones or non-american grocery stores have the 4 wheels turning carts.

      In Germany you have to buy your bags too and the marxist junta outlawed normal (also reusable) plastic bags, which means you have to spend 2-5 EUR for a bag (still plastic, albeit thicker one). Paper bags are slightly cheaper but actual only good for a few light weight items.
      Shopping cart rollers have for rotating wheels. Honestly wonder how it would work with only two rotating ones, haha.

    Seems like the prices you are paying are around 1/3 of what I pay in Colorado USA for similar items on average. Sometimes even cheaper especially for the meat. For example your pork would have been around $15, the duck around $10 and the whole ready to cook chicken probably around $10. The milk would have been around $4. Produce prices seem like they are the closest. I think you are paying about half of what we would pay for produce. I would guess if I were to get your whole cart of stuff in my supermarket it would be about $300-350 USD.

For your information, the majority of American companies did not suffer from the conflict with the Russian Federation, but rather received a head start due to the advantages they received over the EU.

      As far as I can judge from videos of trips to stores in the USA, for example, prices in Russia are two to three times lower, and for a number of products even five times lower (for example, chicken eggs, bread, milk, and it’s surprising that in the West they often They drink completely skimmed milk; in our country they don’t take fat content below 3.2% at all, in my opinion). I think the products in Russia are good - guests from the USA praise them. Without GMO. And without taste like plastic.
      Salaries have increased (at least for us and for those I know), pensions too (pensions ahead of inflation). But what needs to be taken into account: “gray cash” is still very common in Russia; many people’s salaries are generally “gray”, which is good for the current moment, but bad for retirement. There are few taxes, housing and communal services are cheap, medicine is free (accordingly, paid medicine is also relatively inexpensive to compete). Products can also be bought much cheaper than the price tag in a supermarket, if you follow promotions, or have discount cards, or buy them at kiosks and markets, or go to a wholesale center, or use an online store (for example, in Yandex Market and on Ozone it is much cheaper than from the counter, but it is delivered to the point of delivery in about 3 days, and not all food products can be bought this way. Therefore, through such points we buy mainly manufactured goods). No taxes at the checkout, i.e. on the price tag “final price” (moreover, this is an offer, so if you suddenly find out that the price at the checkout is higher than on the price tag, must sell at the price tag, I’ve encountered this situation a couple of times).

Even for food, and in general, the cost of living for the entire range of goods, services and social services in Russia is about 4-4.5 times lower. The shops have lost majority of its clients also because the concept of hypermarkets has become outdated. Auchan shops are all located in the suburbs and no one wants to waste time going there when you have many other retail options just around the corner.

    Happy Halloween, Lisa! I've never had duck before, neither grilled nor roasted. I guess it's not too popular in the USA. Did you find any holodets while shopping at the grocery store? I hear it's ghastly. Pieces of pigs feet, cows feet or chicken feet suspended in a chunk of gelatinous goo. We have something similar in the States called head cheese. It the same goo but the meat is from a pig's head. What better time than Halloween for such a frightful tale?😊

    In Melbourne, Australia you can expect to pay over $450 (AUD) to purchase the same products. Families living on an average income do not have $450 left to spend on groceries, after they pay their bills. On around 30% of households live in their fully owned property, the remaining 70% either rent or pay interest on their loan. The very high costs of housing, utilities, insurance and other bills makes it very difficult. I live in my fully owned house average house price in my suburb is a number of million dollars (AUD). My most recent weekly grocery store order was $672.40 (AUD) for two people, a cat, dog and large quantity of goldfish in the pond. (no alcohol and no cosmetic included). I purchased organic chicken, organic fruit and vegetables, $8 roll bread, seafood, free range eggs (12 pack), cheese, A2 milk, water, yoghurt (plain), almond milk, honey, herbs, 70% cocoa chocolates, cat food, dog food, fish food.

    It is very right that you mentioned how much money people earn. When you compare food prices in supermarkets, in addition to earnings, it is necessary to mention permanent expenses not related to food, such as utilities, electricity and gas, home internet and TV, mobile communication, transportation costs, medical expenses.... Purchase power in Russia is meanwhile higher compared to most countries in the collective West (excepts US, Japan). Even more so if you're buying your groceries in cheaper places than this supermarket and living in a modest place instead of a newly build fancy apartment.
      That difference will definitely even increase since the West is massively declining and the inflation will rise with the coming sanctions package, supply chain laws, tolls and costs for migrants and many more self created sources of overall destruction.
      Also the huge brain drain out of the marxist West (Germany alone more than a Million well educated people left in the last few years alone) will further the decline and dwarf the real GDP and net taxes.
      Net tax payers in Germany are on a all time low of just below 15 Million compare to 65 Million real Germans and 25 Million migrants (80-90% of them not working at all).

Bananas in Russia are always in huge quantities, we don't eat them every day, but if we need it, no problem, but avocados can be safely replaced with more useful cucumbers and tomatoes, which is what they do in Russia and eat them almost every day. So you have papaya and avocado, eat, but we will eat more healthy northern fruits and vegetables ;)
