Your trip to the grocery was quite interesting. Barely could we watch at an assortment and prices somewhere out of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg on TH-cam. Brilliant job, Lisa!✌😀
I remember when I came to Moscow as a tourist and didn't find milk and eggs brands that I got used to buy. Then I recalled they were all from my oblast and Moscow is too far away from us, so I had to buy the brands that I never tried before 😆😆😆
It's kind of like that in the USA too. In Alaska and Hawaii stuff like milk, cheese, and frozen pizzas are way more expensive than in the lower 48 states.
same thin happens in medium-size countries like Spain. you can buy a week.grocerys for 70€ in Asturias, but in Barcelona. Oh my!!! can perfectable double the Price of that!!!
Food and fuel prices in the us are much higher than Russia. Fresh baked bread is about 4 dollars eggs 3 dollars and gas almost 4 dollars a gallon. Hope the weather warms up and you can enjoy some timw at the beach.😊
Interesting video, it is the logistic that make the difference in prices. Easier logistic and higher population work good for Moscow. I live in a small village and in local shop the prices are also lot higher then in the city supermarkets. You look wonderful, full of energy.
Hi Vasilisa. I loved your live Q&A especially as you answered my question. It was a real thrill to connect with you from UK to Vladivostok. I hope your epic train journey back to Moscow goes brilliantly.

Specify the quantitative parameter of the product. Foreigners have no idea that this is the price for one piece, for 10 eggs (in the USA there are packages of 12 eggs- dozen), for 100 grams, for 1 kilogram, for a gallon, for a pint, for a pound. Moreover, for the average American, the concept of 1 kilogram or 1 meter does not mean anything (just noise from the mouth) - they are absolutely not familiar with the metric system of weights and measures (there are still miles, gallons, pounds, inches, etc.).
Very interesting as always, and usual really nice soundtrack! Is there not a Perekrestok in Vladivostok?..I love those kielbasa sausages! Is the fish and seafood a bit cheaper, being locally caught i assume?

Very interesting video about Russian supermarkets and that aspect of modern Russian life in city. I guess the word СУПЕРЦЕНА superprice is not a Soviet Russian word, but new capitalist invention in Russia? You are wonderful grocery shopper that seems to know quite a lot about food and food quality, freshness, and price. Lots of young men out there are going to want you to marry you because you will make them a very good Russian wife that knows much about grocery shopping as well as is fun person to enjoy life with. Love to watch your videos to just to rest, relax, calm down, and unwind. thanks,so much, Dima

Hi Lisa - In our Canadian north - food and everything else is more expensive - just as you mentioned about the difference between far eastern Russia and Moscow. The more remote here - the more pricey things are. However usually people working in the north get paid more. Cheers! 🍁🍁
This is very interesting. In the UK we have a supermarket called Sainsbury, which is similar sounding to Самбери/'Сам бери' or 'take it yourself'. The unintended consequences of language. Its like самшит (boxwood) but if you are in the park/garden in England saying 'I can see самшит', it has a totally different meaning 😀 even if there is a boxwood bush there.
В Великобритании клубника strawberry, это слышится на русском дословно с травы брать, с травы бери. Есть теория, что бриты это славяне, вернее они были славяне несколько тысяч лет назад. Вы знаете почему у вас младенца называют baby?
Greetings from Britland! I live in a UK town where the prices for utilities and housing - and food - are significantly cheaper than in the capital but can still find more remote places where they are far higher. Prices fluctuate. The presence of major chains and distribution distance are impactful. What can you do? I do like the Asian flavour of restaurants, cafes and available food choices you have. Lucky you. Don't forget that Moscow is (in my opinion) a far more desirable capital in which to live than London and Vladivostok in many respects reminds me somewhat of Vancouver, only without the exorbitant cost. That's a win-win for you, I think... though the BC environment is pretty spectacular. Have you considered taking a ferry trip to Canada? Thanks for the video, have a good day and take care!
This is a very good video about shopping in your home town. It was a good idea to list the exchange rate from Russian to American dollars. The prices in this market are reasonable, as in Canada food prices are going up even faster than your country lovely Lisa.
Hi! Thank you very much for posting your videos! Here in Central Canada our average wages are about $2000 per month, and our groceries cost 2 to 10 times more, compared to groceries in Eastern Russia.
Prices I always find something in the middle. Fun, you find some food from Asian countries. Also, that coca cola from Japan. Eggs if they are from Russia. You see text in the bottom for eggs where they come from if it is so there.
If you thought Vladivostok was expensive, try Utqiagvik, Alaska! There are no roads from the interior and everything has to be shipped in by air. You can imagine the grocery store prices there. Costs are always relative, depending on where you live.
Dobroy vecher. hmm Russian bread looks tasty. Not to be a food cop (you eat what you want and like) BUT don't keep living on that ramen noodles things (I know they can taste kinda good but not very healthy. Plus coming soon, you are still gonna do that train ride back to Moscow right? and I think you have only ramen noodles on those trains lol
