    Judging from these comments since when did matcha become such a strict drink.For anyone new to matcha there really are no rules to how you want to make it.You can use a metal whisk ,bamboo whisk or shake it a jar.Use hot or cold water,boiling or not.Cow milk, almond milk whatever,don’t let the matcha police tell you what to do.You are not going to die if you don’t make it a certain way,just relax and have fun.

    Tried it literally today and your method is so much better than mine. I used to blend my matcha with my milk altogether. But I realized that whisking the matcha first, and adding it later on gives so much more flavor to the latte. You can really feel the matcha. Thanks.

    Thank you for this! I'm a busy student and matcha has been an incredible caffeine replacement over coffee. It picks me up without giving me all the negative side effects of coffee. I also don't follow the very strict rules some tea connoisseurs obey and that kept me from trying matcha for a long time. I wouldn't trade my metal whisk for a bamboo one no matter what lmao and I still get an incredible cup every morning!

    • @SashaColina
      @SashaColina  5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Thank you for watching my video! Matcha is definitely the best coffee replacement! I still drink both haha. It just depends on my mood. But I totally agree with you- I think you have to find what works for you! If the way you make it tastes good and it gives you a good caffeine kick then why change it?! I just wanted to share my recipe because it works for me and its delicious!

    Ive been giving up coffee so ive been really into matcha, I make mine in a reusable preserves jar just like you. Pour the matcha, a little hot water, use my electric whisk to stir it into the water then put ice and pour oat milk. The lid lets you shake it up so it gets nice and foamy!

    THIS GUIDE IS SO GOOD AND SIMPLE!! I've been waiting quite a long time to use some of the matcha powder I bought while I was in Japan, and this is perfect! I personally like to use brown sugar and turn it into a syrup myself because I'm too lazy to go to the store to buy pre made tapioca pearls to make a boba, but still want that nice authentic taste like a brown sugar pearl. 10/10, my 12 year old son makes this all of the time now and has been in love with matcha for years (he also uses 2tsp as well).

    I made green tea before and it was so bitter!! Reason why is that I didn’t shake enough. So I grabbed a mug because I don’t wanna use a bowl, and started whisking it with a metal fork. And when I got to a foamy point I put it in a protein cup with the ball and shook it up then I put milk in a Starbucks coffee bottle mixed in the matcha put some sugar,added my favorite vanilla flavoring and it tastes delicious! Thanks for this vid, I’ve always struggled with matcha

    i love matcha latte too, thanks for sharing.
    not an expert but a frequent matcha buyer, i haven't tried it from that brand but it is almost the same price as one of the top-quality matcha tenju from marukyu koyamaen, so it's koicha (thick tea) and is usually enjoyed as it is, could be a bit luxurious to just make latte with it, perhaps isuzu has more competitive price value.. sometimes im too lazy i just use milk foamer to foam it, works fine but won't get pleasing foam and won't drink it directly, but it really takes some patience to whisk it

  • @ngoct.7723

    I am a huge fan of Matcha lattes made at home! For another tip on making delicious homemade matcha lattes, I personally use a sifter first before wisking the matcha. I would never use boiling hot water! That would kill the nutrients in the delicate matcha powder itself and it would taste bitter and the drinking experience would be unpleasant. I personally would recommend heating up the water at (175F/80°C) is the perfect temperature for your matcha Green Tea.

    tbh there are many ways to make matcha. there’s the traditional way which is nice but not always needed and you would open the bamboo whisk up and stir in a zigzag motion (don’t use boiling water, let it cool down) but you can just put everything together and shake it up too. you really just need it to mix well and froth to have matcha green tea lol

    hi thanks for this video! I can’t wait to get the bamboo whisk! Idk why but my homemade lattes don’t hit the same! 😔😔 Have you ever experienced this or is it like a reverse-placebo effect? lol
    I bought my Matcha powder from the local Asian Mart - popular chain in New York. But for some reason when I drink my latte, I do not get the same gentle caffeine buzz; I do not feel the same sustained focus/clarity and positive energy that I so love when I get a Matcha latte from, say, Sbux.
    I’m wondering, could it be that the Matcha powder I bought was like not genuine? The store owner said it was “restaurant grade.” Or could it be that without the whisk, the particles were not breaking down enough in the hot water and for some reason that’s why I’m not getting the same results?
    The tin says: ingredients: matcha, product of Japan and best by Nov 2021.

    will a normal whisk do? because i don't have a bamboo whisk, it's just about removing clumps in the matcha right??

    Alternatively, you can literally just put scoops of matcha into the milk and ice, close the lid, and shake the hell out of it. It mixes it well enough, there's no issue with ruining it with boiling water, and it's a lot easier, less dishes. Also, you should be whisking in circular motions, not zigzag motions.

    • @lucajooste5661
      @lucajooste5661 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Mushrambo honestly, if you're making an mailk drink with it or any other drink besides usu cha, any motion will do as long as you get the powder incorporated and suspended in the water

    • @SashaColina
      @SashaColina  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +dominique007 the bamboo whisk has always been used in making matcha traditionally. I haven’t tried it with a regular whisk but maybe it works too. Thank you for watching!

  • @DewTime

    I use almond milk as well but the unsweetened version so there’s no sugar. I’ll then add some no-sugar sweetener. Otherwise taking in sugar is really bad for you.
