🧭 About my TH-cam Channel
Ooika authentically stone-mill Japan’s most rare and celebrated single-cultivar Matcha, here in the United States. I made this channel so to share my love and passion of single-cultivar, terroir-specific tea.
I just tried matcha for the first time a few days ago, and I'm pretty certain it just saved my life. It's a miracle
Great video! Thanks
Fantastic video!!
Perfect explanation, got yourself a new sub! :)
I've been drinking Ookia matcha for about half a year now. I don't start my day without it.
This was such a confidence boost, I was worried I was making my momo-gata teabowl all wrong in ceramics but after seeing yours I'm like "Ah, no, it's shaped exactly right"
That was very useful thank you
Fantastic video, thanks
Matcha rules 🥰 Never realised the terms can be used differently by brands 😅 Great tips!
just discovered this video - the host did a great job, so well explained, i learned a lot
Thank you!!
hey man I'm pretty sure I recognize you from some old vids you used to make on a different topic. Can't seem to find them anymore but they were helpful so thanks man
Haha, thanks man!
New sub here ❤ just ordered my matcha . I want to try it's uniqueness 😊
Great job! thanks for the clarification. I will check the website out and compare prices. Was looking at matcha Kari on Amazon. Just getting into matcha making. Cheers
This is so well done. Thorough and relevant for matcha amateurs like myself. Thank you! 😀
Thank you!
Mark, I'm loving your presentation style. I'll be watching more of this!❤
Thank you kindly!!
You mentioned the fast degradation of matcha. But does that also apply to matcha that has not been opened yet? Or does that also degrade, but more slowly? So drink opened match
I believe the best Matcha tea, is labelled and classed as Ceremonial Matcha … other grades of Matcha, which maybe the bitter tasting Matcha’s, are typically used for cakes/baking …. Ceremonial is the best tasting and with a more vibrant green colour!
But nevertheless an interesting and engaging video …. Incidentally, I love a bowl of Matcha first thing each morning 😋
Much thanks, Steve, Bristol, U.K 👍🏼😊 🙏
Thank you so much… that thermos method is what I wanted… 😊
how about a warm matcha latte? Can you pour the warm milk over the matcha or other way around? Also, is it true you should only use plant based milk?
Hi. Thank you for this video! I was wondering. Does the milk (honey, sirup, sugar) kill all the good stuff in the matcha tea or do you get the same benefits as drinking it only with water?
Дякую❤
Great video! ♡ Loved that you used oat milk, I think matcha and animal cruelty don't go well together :)
Ive been having a problem. Its like no matcha I have bought will lose their taste when mixed with milk. Its like I can olny taste the milk.
Do I need to add more matcha? Or is there a better kind of matcha better for Lattes? Thanks in advance
Did you use culinary grade matcha to make the latte in the video? Or did you use ceremonial grade in both processes?
for lattes I used this: ooika.co/shop/p/uji-barista-matcha
What is it’s effect on testosterone (and the stuff associated with it) for males?
Weirdly obsessed w this video, I can tell how passionate you are about matcha, very educational thank you!!
07:30 lmao the zoom
lol
@@Ooika great video though sorry for focusing on that it was just too amusing not to comment
@@Nate-9797 I can't lie it's pretty funny haha.
But yeah, thanks man!
Love your neck shot 😍
What container do you use to store your matcha?
UV-proof, and airtight glass jars. Actually, all of the Matcha we sell on Ooika comes with these kind of jars for free.
I love matcha
We have that in common!
Am looking for a healthy tea to drink. Came across benefits of Matcha. Question don’t care to add to oat milk, do you then just drink it. Much smaller quantity than a cup of tea right?
Yeah, classic is still best. Just prepare it the original way. Warm a bowl and bamboo whisk, then add the match (4 grams), add a splash of water to make a paste by whisking, then add 60 ml, then whisk till frothy. It’s like an espresso or a shot
is ceremonial & culinary matcha made with different methods?
Same method, but culinary has more corners cut. I'll do a video on this topic.
How much milk do you add to your matcha latte? Do you have a ratio for it?
150ML oat milk, 40ml water, 2g matcha is a good ratio
Ippodo Matcha is so far my favorite and the best in my opinion.
how much water?
For a traditional bowl of Matcha, 2g Matcha + 45ml water at 75c
Cannabis and matcha, the perfect mix
Do you sell Sweet Uji Matcha single serve packets?
We don’t, I’m sorry!
It’s a waste of plastic imo
Why did u randomly zoom in on his throat

Shame all products are sold out😢.
"Matcha must be from Japan." False.
Matcha originated in China.
It is produced across Asia and is absolutely not exclusive to Japan. You can obtain Matcha from various countries across Asia, it is simply most abundant in Japan. Just because certain countries like Brazil or Colombia produce most of the coffee consumed in the west, does not mean other countries cannot produce coffee (Vietnam and India for example also produce coffee.) While a majority do consider Japan to be superior to other countries at cultivating Matcha, that doesn't mean other places don't produce it, in fact the video maker is an American Matcha company.
This is a great comment, mostly correct! In fact, we've done videos in collaboration with Shunan Teng of Tea drunk on the topic.
What you're missing a bit is that Matcha itself is not from China -- Mo Cha is. Mo Cha came to Japan about 1,000 years ago, where modern (and VERY distinct) Matcha was developed over the 1,000 years tea was in Japan.
So, it's not correct to say Matcha is from China, any more than it's right to say American Baseball is from England. It's not! Roots (critcket), inspiration, and history - but the product (Baseball/ Matcha) is distinctly American/Japanese in origin.
As a second note, there are lots of imitation products (ground green tea) on the market from all over the world, as you mentioned! But Matcha 抹茶 is from Japan alone - the same was Pu Er must be from Yunnan, even if you make a Pu Er style tea in India, or Japan. :)
Great comment though, lots of excellent conversation topics!
Try hard matcha drinker.
99% of us arent matcha nerds. We just want good matcha cheap and easy. So the last simple instructions was the best.
But thanks for the nerdy matcha talk. Ill never pay $40 for 2oz of some high end bright green ceremonial matcha. This isnt a ceremonial occasion. Just wanna drink some earthy matcha and go about my day.
And why not just use a scooper? Smh
nothing wrong with any of that :)
Are all matcha halal?
Doesn't he look a bit like Andrew Tate?
Thanks for the video. It was very informative. 🍵
I'm interested in the health benefits, I'm concerned about developing pronouns.
??????
This comment is amazing
I’m glad people still have a sense of humor love this comment
