Shaun's "Cat like" Reflexes kicked in there. New nickname....."Big Cat Shaun"
Im glad Grandma Lolly was there , you should always have at least one adult around...lol
I don't care who you are - Jeep driving itself around in the garage is good content. Nice to see everyone stuck to the same story when grandma asked if the Jeep moved six feet.
2:14 Ben vice grip would have eaten that. You should give it a go. Derek ate an old 30 year old candy the other day on his video. I was dying 😂
I have two brothers. When Hunter said "do you want a pocket knife" to not tell the 'rents I just about killed you, I lost it. That is exactly the sort of stuff that got said. Sometimes I wonder how we all survived.
( Sometimes I wonder how we all survived. ) Me too! Looking back into 1964 my Brother accidentally stabbed me right in the butt-cheek! He was chasing me & trying to poke me in the butt with the knife, I tripped...Brother fell on me and the 'pin-knife' ( a Gentleman's pocket knife ) sank into the flesh! At 73 now...I won't soon forget that...Crazy kids we were! 👈😬👌
Ha, And he never has a pocket knife….So what did he do to his brothers?😅
The real reason Hunter doesn't have a knife!😂
Haha I took at least 2 pocket knife bribes and gave one of my own in my day lol.
And I think the physical dangers we faced as kids are the only reason we survive emotional ones later in life.
aHEM…modern parents…
As the youngest of 4, I can't yell you how many "gifts" my brother's gave me, haha
Paul you and Michelle should send Ben Shawn and Hunter on vacation somewhere as a surprise gift for being so dependable on working
And you expect Michelle to agree to thar
@@gregholmes3661 absolutely lol I think she’s an understanding lady who loves the crew for putting grub on their table lol
This one’s for Ben, there’s two kind of guys that wire up their cars, ones that had fires and those that haven’t. I’m like you know, I use fuses and relays, and battery and alternator disconnects. Wire gets hot real fast, hahaha.
I would 100% watch episodes where Hunter, Ben, and Sean just do odd jobs around the shop/yard together. Good trio that is 👍🏾
Love that idea. They could broadcast them on Monday, Thursday and Saturday
Busted by Grand'ma Lolly!!
"It ran, then it sat for a while" Where have I heard that before LOL???
Lovely to see the A1A sign, all us Parrotheads appreciate that touch!
I've heard of raining cats and dogs, but I didn't know bears could rain as well.
The compression tester should have the core valve installed so that the compression builds during the test not just bounce back and forth, if the tool was sued correctly it would show that there is no big issues like that. Just so you know for next time.
This, it should build pressure and stay at max until the pressure is released.
Yeah, and it'll take a couple compression cycles before the needle hits its highest reading, which is what you want.
Yep. I wanted to jump through the video to help them.
Should it...oh my God thank goodness you said something 🤣
This episode will be saved in my favorites and forever known as "Don't Tell Mom". I'm super glad Sean wasn't hurt but the conversation it sparked had us doubled over in laughter. (Probably because we've all been there.) You can't buy entertainment of this caliber.
Love the channel!
Old trick to pull a snowmobile clutch without a puller is to remove the bolt, tip the sled on the side, pour a few ounces of water into the bolt hole and then reinstall the bolt. The bolt will bottom out against the water and pop the clutch off. Remove the bolt, tip the back down and the water drains out. Clutch removed.
I bet it would work on the side-by-side. Cheers!
OMG 😂🤣👍🏼 Hunter Nailed it "Don't tell Mom & Dad !😮 you want a pocket knife?"😂
Another Great Video Y'all ❤😂
We Love Ben & Sean & Hunter too❤❤❤
With a DeComp you will be around 80-90lbs. You have to disengage the decompression mechanism to get a true reading!
13:38 Ever since as a kid doing visiting car washes with my pal for pocket money, and nearly totaling one of the cars into a garage door, pressing or pulling something we ought not have, that started the car - stick shift so parked in gear, handbrake off:- for the last 50-odd years I've always made it a point to check the gear stick for neutral, have one foot covering the brake, the other covering the clutch, whenever I start up any vehicle.
My girlfriend's grandfather the classic very English - English 'Colonel Blimp' type character, took off once starting in a Mini Cooper, right through the wooden garage doors, only got stopped by the workbench and vice at the back, or he'd have gone into the river out the back!
Really surprisingly quick getaway in those old Minis. 🤪
Back in the day my son that is 27 now when he was 2 just about drove through the house once and the garden the other time. If it doesn’t have a neutral safety switch tackle the keys. No damage was done and lessons learned.
That clip of the jeep starting in gear is exactly why I spent the extra time to wire the neutral safety switch in my YJ lol. It's a 302 swap with a b&m sport shifter. I sat there thinking it is useless to wire it up since I would never start it in gear. I count 6 times now that I have went to start it in gear and the neutral safety switch has saved me from that exact situation.
Must have had a stuck valve. When you put all the high pressure to it and were rolling it over must have blown it loose "maybe LOL"
I love it when a plan almost kills you but you walk away for another day, LOLLL....
The compression leak was the tester itself, the valve was dumping the psi after every compression stroke ..usually takes three complete cycles to represent actual compression psi. A bit of lite oil down the spark plug holes promotes sealing also.
Wow, Paul has such a talented family. The kids break stuff (include Hunter in that lol) and the adults fix it.
The most accurate way to compression test is with the throttle wide open. If you don't do that the readings are suspect because the throttle isn't allowing max air in. It's "throttling". lol
Like the old saying " When the Boss is away the Kids will play" lol Always entertaining guys,it's fun to watch you guys in the shop!!And glad Paul n Michelle n family got a lil Holiday too.😊
Paul needs a Florida wardrobe. Cutoffs, flipflops/sandals with the airy light colored button shirt optional and don't forget the wide brimmed hat.
We had a reprieve today with effective temps down to 114 while Tuesdays effective temps were close to 120 and there have been daily heat advisories. Sweat can't evaporate when its like this so you need to dress for it so you don't stew to death.
Best!
Ben -“the struggles of the shop” = time to stop and burn a j to figure out the rest of the day 😂
Don't worry hunter I've had that happen a lot. Just messing with everything fixes a problem then your dumbfounded on what you did. What probably happened was the valve was stuck and the leak down tester Jared it back up. It may have a bad valve clip.
This was my exact thought. I know somebody would say it in the comments.
If that is the mighty rig that Hunter thinks is going to conquer Paul and Ben's dirt bikes. Well, he's going to need a turbo kit to to just be totally embarrassed. Without one he's burnt toast dust.
nah I think he was talking about his 4Wheeler, I think it's a KTM not sure what size and year it is.
regardless, Paul's CR 500 will eat it up, spit it out, and leave him sitting in a 20 Foot Roost of Dirt and Dust!🤣😆
Ben was definitely on that wacky tabacky this episode lol.
As Ben started his jeep I thought why isn't he checking to see if it's neutral? It wasn't.
And on Hunter's motor starting up , did anyone else notice how much water came out ? Water even came out the 2nd time it started.
These are the things that happen when there are too many irons in the fire, lol. I'm happy that no one got hurt. Be aware that distractions can also cause havoc! I love Fab Rats and only with the best for them! Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next...
Gotta love these old videos we seen clips of already 😂 ps why don't we get to see Paul in his bathing suit 😂
Paul - get a paper plate and take a black felt tip marker and write "TUIT" on the plate. Now Michelle can't say she hasn't gotten a round "TUIT"! LOL :)
GOOD JOB EVERYONE!
The look on Sean's face! When the Jeep jumped forward! LMAO!
Raining like a bear? Ben, just how do bears rain?
Proof that we're all just living the same lives. I have the exact same wiring story as Ben. Fog lights that I wired in highschool. Switch shorted to ground, glowing red, and I ripped it out burning my hands.
Paul leaves on vacation and Hunter practice his weld skills. Good for you Hunter i knew you could do it.
You can get Hunter to read the instructions for you!!
Ow!
Grandma needs to slap hunter and ben across the back of the head Hunter operator error 😂😂😂
Yeah Paul, I'm in the Tampa area in the cooler part just a mile off the beach. Heat and humidity is so bad the last few days my A/C is overwhelmed and damaging my ceiling. Can't fix it 'cause it's too hot to work on it. Got to wait till dark. Welcome to "Africa hot"!
3:32 - Those girls were SOOOO EXCITED... to be anywhere but there, then.
Hunter always wear comfortable shoes when riding a Polaris. You probably be walking 😂😂👍
Always funny to think, no matter where you live somewhere else is better. Florida is a great place to visit.
you are the second TH-camrs I watch who have gone to a Buccees this week. The other is The Good Bad and Ugly, a couple who rebuilt a sailboat and sailed it around the Caribbean, and are now doing a van cation during the hurricane season.
Every Jeep needs some emergency rations stashed in the glovebox...😂
No emergency room visits or fires = success!
I'm glad Ben finally found a welding helmet !! And actually used it correctly instead of for just holding parts ! =))))
Leak down test :
Put cylinder at top dead center , then add air through spark plug . Should have minimal leakage . Under 10%.
Listen for air leakage out through carb = intake valve leak .
Out exhaust =
Exhaust balve leak.
Out oil fill cap =
Leaking past rings .
Bubbles in radiator =
Head gasket / cracked head .
Solo Sean vids are always a welcome surprise.
That’s one way to learn Ben but there is betters ways to not burn up.🤣👍♥️. Safety in wiring should always be considered.
Ben funny thing is my 1948chrysler has no neutral safety switch and fluid drive transmission and that sometimes happens to me where the car lurches forward and it gives you a shock to the heart ❤️!!!!😂!!
Totally had the same run away rig issue when I built my first buggy! Had a friend come over and decided to let him " hear it run". I reached in hit the switch and it launched off the jackstands.... ooops!
Oh Man I wish I knew you were here. I live just up the street. Would have loved to meet all you all. 🙂
You guys got some rain and in Orem...sigh...nothing. LOL You guys rock! Ben, you have really fun toys!
With that title I was scared I thought something had happened to the boys, but well greetings from COSTA RICA...as always waiting for your new videos.
Hahaha that was hilarious when Ben's Jeep tried to run away 🤣🤣👍
Who wants to visit Florida in August lol especially with Matt wetzel
Tell me you fixed that starter neutral safety switch. That is a dangerous scenario going on you guys! And you're right it's happened to all of us!
All the best from Surrey BC Canada
Congrats on the upgrades for the Jeep. I hope Ben and Sean enjoyed the change of pace. :-) Paul works you two like a pair of rented mules. Keep having fun, y'all!
Oh I like that advice, only say one thing you want to accomplish & be done! I need to do that! I use to list out everything I want to get done & divide it in HALF, then take into account how many times I get interrupted & the heat... so divide that in half & Pray everything goes smoothly. Yup some days I don't get much accomplished. LoL
You guys need to have a secret build when ever paul is away
Like maybe a off rd 3 wheel recovery tricycle with winchs an ropes ect ect tool boxs everything
You could cram on it ha ha
But it would need training wheels too
I absolutely love the intro and outro of storytime thank you editor
So Wise , Thank You . Good to have a brother to call .Vacations are good
Good morning!
Great Video and Funny. One thing I totally agree with Ben is Nothing better than fresh picked straight out of the garden Peas, Raw or cooked
Paul, didn't you have to rebuild that swamp touring thing LAST time you went to florida? lol
I think Anthony is a great addition to the FabRats crew!
Hey that’s me. Thank you
Have a good week and count your blessings amen.
Awesome food at The Golden Lion. i dont live that far from there. i watch all three of you reguluarly. Paul, Matt, Robbie you guys are a tight Knit family.
“It’s not a giant, but it’s a bass”
**YEET**😂😂
I am so envious of your shop! Carry on.
Always check to make sure that the vehicle is out of gear before cranking.
Story time with Spaceman:
I got pulled over on my Hell-Cycle one night. The lady cop said that my headlight wasn't on. I said, "bull-snot! The headlight comes on when I turn the key and crank her." I reached over and turned the key. SAVANNAH (my Hell-Cycle) cranked right up, headlight came on, but she was in gear and took off straight for the cop who was standing in from of the trike. I dove in front and knocked the cop out of the way. Then the other cops that were there wanted to arrest me for assault on an officer. I told the lady cop, "But I saved your life. That trike could've killed you if I didn't jump in." After checking with the owner of the bushes that stopped the trike. He didn't want to press charges and the lady cop said, "Just let him go with a warning." So always check to make sure that the vehicle is out of gear before cranking.
This has been story time with Spaceman.
My favorite restaurant of all time....The Golden Lion!
That intro had me rolling! 🤣 Comradery builder!
I had something similar happen to me, back in about 1979, out in Tulsa, in the dead of winter. Same thing, though I don't remember now what the issue was. Fortunately, traffic was light, and I manged to get that heavy beast (F100 step side long bed) pushed to the curb. Luckily, it was in front of a coffee shop that served free coffee to people who were out of work.
Don't know how many hours it took me, having to stop ever 20 minutes or so to go warm up my hands, but it took a while. Eventually, I got it fixed and was on my way.
15:13 Hunter lowkey admitting why he never has a knife. He's just accident prone, and as a Cox he has 15,000 siblings and relatives to pay off in knives.
Love watching all the fun and mayhem. FYI...Buc-ee's doesn't allow semitrucks on their properties which is ironic since they wouldn't have fuel or any other merchandise if it wasn't for trucks and professional drivers. Please consider stopping publicizing their products. Thanks.
Good video! All over the place!
Thank you for sharing! 😊
Lol, 72% is a good day. This week, we are setting records, not only with the temps, but with the "feels like" temp. Humidity and heat = 115 on the daily. I have to mow my yard, in the damn dark, lolol
I live on the MS coast and the "feels like" at 11:30 last night was 108, so I'm not sure how much the dark is gonna help you, lol.
Hunter, Shaun and his brother are goers
Great job 👏 guys. I love watching this channel. Down to earth and real life stuff. Keep it coming. 💯
I always put the cylinder at TDC before hooking up the air on a leak down test, it's much easier that way
As far as Florida, I will say, it is hot here, like a cow on fire.
Watching Sean compression test. Holey piston Batman! You're brutal on equipment Hunter. 😮 Stabil in the gas, Sean prevents the gas from turning into gum. Modern gas with ethanol does that real quick. The weedwhacker and chain saw I've bought the last couple of years had tags on the gas filler neck saying warranty is void if Stabil is not used. It won't work forever, but it'll give you at least a year.
Thanks Ben this one got a big chuckle out of me. 😂 Glad I have his channel subscribed so I can still see him.
As long as you don’t have extra parts left over from compression testing, I’d say send it 😂🤘
Neutral safety for a good very good reason 👍.......
Hit Louisiana lol 100 percent Humidity hahaha. But from a South Carolinda man who prides himself in our food . Louisiana has the BEST BY FAR.....
Man! Wild to think I live 20 minutes from the Golden Lion. Hope you enjoyed your vacation to this neck of the woods!
Everyone loves watching Fab rat
Just less than 5 minuets, 1.3k view 😂 soon we shall be hiting 1M less than 20 minuets. I love the way we are so loyal to paul and the crew ❤❤❤🤞🏼
Hopefully in time that will be true as they deserve it, but as of now I believe they only have about 10 videos with over 1m views. but im out here watching videos 5 times trying to do my part.
Love all the crew!! And I mean every one of you in this video! Great content!
Mark it on the Calendar, Hunter did Physical work. lol
Thanx for sharing your experience and knowledge Have 👍a Great Day 👍
Pretty cool video. It looks like Paul and Michelle are enjoying a much deserved vacation. Take care and have a good one. 👍❤️
I'm about a half hour away from you two here in Florida. I hope you all stayed cool while you were here. Let me know if you ever need help down here.
I wonder if Paul and Matt booked a hunt with the Python Cowboy?
It’s great to see a Fab Rats video. Awesome. Can’t wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon my friends. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friends. Fab On. Weld on. Keep Making. God bless.
Ben you better tail Paul to get back to work it’s hard to get the off-road Rollback done from Florida 👀 😉
Ben sounded more like Paul than Ive ever heard when he talked about "all these parts we still haven't put in her yet, but were going to". Always great videos
