I put a nail weight in the belly unless I'm bed fishing or going real slow. But you're supposed to use an EWG worm hook and put it in sideways. Like so it comes out the side, not the top.
What I do for anything nosed hooked is cut a small piece of the rubber from a skirt collar. Rig as in the video and then put the piece on afterward. This has drastically increased the durability of nosed hooked baits as they don't come of ever.
It's a good looking bait it just doesn't have great action regardless of rigging. I rig a 5" zman paddlerz just like this but with a nail weight. Bass, redfish and trout can't resist it, the action is crazy and it's versatile as hell.

Add a tungsgen nail weight under the screw and it will swim more naturally

Tried doing it with a screw lock ewg and it swam alright but it doesn't sink so you can really get it to swim very much before it surfaces

Im a huge advocate for superglue on baits i do it for surf fishing yea it takes an extra min for the glue to dry but its not going anywhere
