Chester: AAHHHHHH
Chris to Andy: Do the roar.
😂😂😂😂
hahaha just watched that movie
This is the comment of the year lol
Deadpool to wolverine: do the roar!
Always so funny watching Chris lose his mind at Chester’s vocals for the thousandth time, he’s just like me fr 🥲
Lol. I 100% undrrarand this post. I think that dude is as obsessed as i am to nail this song. Its really difficult, and i admire those who can sing it perfectly, because it opens a world of vocal possibilities.
I need somebody who looks at me the same way Chris looks at Andy when he screams
You need a man that could fk u in the a55...
Holy shit, when he did the "Miser-ey" pitch shift it was PERFECT. That is such a difficult transition to make, fuck. Amazing, Andy is a beast.
The key is going from a wide open mouth shape to a more narrow mouth shape
as great as chester is, a lot of people need to look in to the prog metal world and have their eyes opened. the best vocalists and bands out there aren't on the radio.
@@derpderpin1568 Prog Metal is full of voice effects and layers dude, not even funny lol
@@derpderpin1568Lol how do you come to the conclusion everyone that thinks those vocals are great just listen to "radio Metal" ?? I was inspired by Disfigured Elegance/Matthieu Paquette. Pocket fold screams are great and even Ozzy and ACDC do them, just less guttural. Pocket folds are a great way to elevate your vocals. Intensity, cleanliness, rawness, gaining volume without rupturing your vocal chords. And technically the more individual muscles you use the more unique your sound will be.
Andy's demonstration was mind boggling but i don't think it was nowhere near on the level of Chester.
It’s almost more impressive that he immediately belts out after that 17 sec scream.
Breath control is flawless
9:02 If I could just casually make this sound while sitting there hardly trying, I think I would never need to accomplish anything else in life lol
Honestly, I was just sitting here, completely blown away by how incredibly cool that was! 🤣
😂
I'm gonna cry. I miss Chesters voice.
Me too 😢
Wow. Andy is crazy good at that Chester style scream. The way Chris was looking at him in awe was my reaction to most of Chris' videos on screaming, one day i'll crack it.
I have an idea. Take down notes about what Chris says and practice it in order to create your own version of Screaming styles.😊
@@raybankin8342 No need to practice in order, practice what comes naturally first to get comfortable, then work on the things that feel harder so you don't do damage. forcing it is the quickest way to hurt your voice
I honestly think Chester himself would have benefited from this. He did wear out his voice over the years (based on the chronology of the many live videos I've watched). I think the beauty of Chester is that he figured sooooo much of his voice through experimentation. However, you are more susceptible to wear and tear doing it that way with a rigorous touring schedule like his.
True but one of the reasons we know so much about vocal distortion is thanks to Chester himself
Very true. Was a pioneer. Can’t believe he got fry screams and hybrid screams in front of that massive of an audience
@@6stringgroover Kurt Cobain did fry screams way before Chester tbh, he just didn´t have an healthy lifestyle to improve and be the benchmark, sadly
@@aspiringtentacleaxl rose does it all the time, it’s just nasally af
@@George_C-e4vwell cobain would’ve lost his voice in like 3 years after he passed because he had no technique. But he did help the ball get to rolling
At the end of Andy screaming the 17 sec scream I teared up kinda laughing at the same time because it was so f'ing good it made me cry bruh
Continue doing what you love.
its a 2 parter scream in this footage they are watching, doing the full 17 seconds live must be really difficult even for chester thats why he did so many 2 parters too. If I remember correctly theres 1 or 2 times when Chester did it live the full way in one scream. I'm glad Andy addressed that aswell
@@Rosterized obviously there's a big difference between a whole show and just a song or a video so, that's why he was not performing it all together and even the 2 parters was a very good outro for the shows!
Andy sporting a Periphery t-shirt makes me proud.
Found Andy randomly like 6 years ago via his vocal fry tutorial. I cannot believe he is not one of the biggest vocalists in multiple scenes. He's just so damn talented. Been following every single project he's done since
If you said yes then stick around cuz im gonna show you how
Lol the vocal fry tutorial is a LEGEND
One day I will be able to sing this song! Thanks for the tips my friends.
That is one of my goals
@@willlopez4796Same
Me too!
Chester was a treasure and Andy is pure talent as well
I am really of the belief that LP should have Andy at VERY LEAST do one tour with them. Have him come in and just do one sweep, filling in for Chester. I have never heard anyone as genuinely close to Chester as Andy. His Given Up cover is how I found him, and I still get blown away listening to him. I really think they should give him a shot.
I absolutely LOVED how you guys talked about him as if he was still here. People like you are honoring his musical legacy with your amazing energy, passion, excitement. Thank you for this video.
p.s. Andy is an absolute beast.
We need an updated vocal tutorial from Andy Cizek. He's using demonstrations and examples here that make fry distortion seem easier to achieve than we believe.
It’s coming out this Wednesday :)
@chrisliepe Incredibly excited to hear this news! Looking forward to Wednesday!
That’s Monuments’ vocalist! Dude’s screams are absolute top notch. The outro of their song Lavos is just a choir of amazing screams, most epic war cry outro of all time makes me want to take an army into battle like nothing else
this is first time i've seen someone say they know Andy from outside TH-cam
Huh you think Chris knows that?
And makari?
Chester looked into it because he meant it. Chester didn't sing lyrics with those themes because it was edgy. He sang them because he felt them deeply.
Unless you've experienced those kind of emotions at its peak you can have a little perception of something in it's voice that's it was kind of leaving pressure from his body and mind he felt the lyrics
I absolutely love how appreciated screaming vocals have become. Shout out to the vocal coach channels like this one and charismatic voice.
Andy is incredible. Not just at vocals either. His composition and editing skills are world-class.
3:04 wtf? Andy is a machine, such control! damn
If I could fry+scream like Andy, I'd take all my stress, trauma, and frustration out on daily basis and live healthier! 😀 Thank you for this amazing video. Love, Chester Bennington ❤
So cool seeing Andy on here. Loved his singing for YEARS and he does not get enough credit for how incredible he is. HAVE HIM ON MORE!
Oh there's MUCH more coming!!
I love how geeky and enthusiastic Chris is about analyzing the vocal process
Andy is a fucking anomaly. My lord.
Doing the 17 secs while sitting is FUCKING INSANE
This video shows just how good Chester was with his vocals, one of the best vocalists of all time imo and Andy fucking nails how Chester presented his voice, ive been training my own voice for over 4 years now and its not easy, im about 60% of the way there so massive respect for Andy here and a great video all round Chris. R.I.P Chester.
How you training it?
But have you seen him perform Querty? That one is out of this world, the way he goes from clean to scream ,back and forth, flawless.Man,I'm gonna cry again😞 can't believe it's been 7 years...
I just love how happy these guys are when doing this
Chester is really one of a kind
Hearing Andy manage to complete the full scream is genuinely so sick haha. Great breakdown as always and it's cool hearing how those screams are truly done.
Andy's a gold mine, it's such an incredible opportunity to get to pick his brain like this about vocal technique. Amazing videos!
9:35 This was my "Ah ha!" moment for reaching that type of high fry scream. Definitely something I want to work on!
Was struggling with this for weeks until I saw your message. Just nailed it 😭
@@AygisMusic Hell yeah! Hopefully I'll get mine some day. My singing is pretty 100% clean, I have no grit. I feel that's also another thing I need to work on!
What gives me chills is the actual song. The meaning, the emotions, the words, the message hes saying... he was telling us what he felt. And knowing he is not with us anymore and hearing this song post-mortem really fucking hurts.
I'll never cease to be amazed by Andy's skills. Incredible control and range.
Andy is also a fricken master. Absolutely incredible vocalist.
I’ve always loved Bert McCracken’s vocals on their self-titled album “The Used”. It always sounded so flawless to me when he’d transition to screams like in the “buried myself alive” chorus or just through out the entire album. Also, his falsetto part after the 2nd chorus of “Poetic Tragedy” ALWAYS gives me chills. He was so fuckin good in his prime. His performance during Taste of Chaos 2005 was phenomenal. He was hitting every powerful scream on “A Box Full of Sharp Objects”
I was excited to finally see Chester but before that tour began, that’s when he took his life 😔 RIP
Loved the enthusiasm guys! This was fun to watch, I remember when I first heard this song YEARS ago I was like "No way he did this in one take...he couldn't pull this off live" And here's proof Chester could. So could Andy!
This song really got me into Linkin Park, what incredible vocals and a flawless breakdown
On stage, you also give a show ! Expressing is very important to get people get active in front of you. It's also a very acquired skill ! Chester got a lot of all of these skills as also mentioned on the video. Love you guys !
Oh my god, 17 seconds scream was so epic!!! I have learned a lot, thank you guys
the particularity in chester screams was he always added a high note in it, even other recognized singers in the rock industry like m. shadows can't replicate that screams
he was unique, we fvckin miss u chazz 😢🕊🕊
Haha Andy was so proud of the 17 second scream and deservedly so!! Great job!!
Andy fkn rules, everything he does is TOP. Awesome video Chris.
one thing to mention about chesters performance there is that his diaphragm is really being engaged quite heavily. his breathing technique is so flawless doing what he does
Love how they talk about chester as if he is still with us 😢.
DUDE ANDY❕❕❕
you are seriously something.
truly respect you so much after this one video alone.
this is not normal brother 😂
Your efforts are shining. Continue growing always ♾️
Thank you guys for sharing your knowledge with us, love you ! And love Chester ! ❤
Andy is an absolute beast! So much to learn here
This guy is incredible, awesome control and beautiful scream!! Keep forward, bro!
Andy was built different.. this dude is from another world..
Chris please watch my stone sour cover in my channel, it would be amazing to have your eyes on it, cause I really admire you man ❤️
Holy shit this is the collab I had no idea I'd see. I'm seeing Andy with Makari in November. One of my favorite vocalists ever
Its the pain. This is definitely one of his most emotional performances and you can tell he really was feeling the lyrics during this peformance. The face hes making right before the scream..the eyes, his face..so much pain. Even if he tried to sing something without distortion, if he was finding the power from his pain, it would still seep out and thats how I see him singing.
The energy from the video to Chris AND Andy.. This was a great idea for content. Thanks
Can't wait for Andy's lessons , the guys an animal of a singer , super talent .
I know Andy really well, I got a lot of inspiration from his cover when I was making mine of Given Up. He's amazing.
So happy you got connected with Andy. Been following him since before Makari - he's worked hard for what he's got now and its cool to see him collaborating! Great vid!
Im just flabbergasted how this guy can scream so well
This was incredible to watch
This was such a treat to watch. I remember watching his videos years ago about learning how to scream haha. The dude is amazing. Great video Chris as always, love the in detail vocal analysis of all of the great artists.
Andy is The man
Maaaaaan! I'm waiting for this course!!! 🤩
Very great vocal demonstrations guys.
Love the Periphery shirt Andy
Oh boy, thanks for this video. I actually learned about distorting with head voice
I fuckin love Andy. I'm just a punk guy but goddamn, this dude's work is incredible.
Ok this is so freaky, after watching your vocal distortion vids about two weeks ago I decided to start practicing the given up scream over the last few days and now here this video pops up 😂
Same here 😶
Goddamn this video gave me tongles voice control and hpw easy screaming is to this guy is insane sounds is like ridiculous not heard someone this close and immitating screamsnjust sat doing a video casually on the spot is crazy to me. Amazing epic i would totally be chris in this but fanboying even more over the incredible technique.
Man, Chester was such a beast.
Bro this is absolutely incredible... If Linkin Park toured again with this dude I would definitely go see
Man, the video just started. This is going to be great!
Heard Andy Cizek is going to be on a song with Tyler Rossow and Nick Thurl of October Ends. That's gonna be an insane feat. Andy's screams never stops amaze me, thanks for doing this video!!! Keep the Linkin Park legacy alive 🔥
Been a fan of Andy for years. He's amazing
Love the energy and chemistry between Chris and Andy. Instantly teleports me to my happy place every time. This video is nineteen minutes of experiencing the pure joy of appreciating a master while exploring and discovering the vocal possibilities we have expertly guided by Chris and Andy who know how to break it down and show us how it’s done. Awesome video! Love Andy’s warmup course. Can’t wait for the full course. 🙏🥰
this man has a vocal slider built-in to his vocal chords just casually sliding back and forth like its nothing its freakin amazing
1:50 It's fascinating how high Chester's voice is for the chorus. It's amazing that he chose to put so much grit into high ranges
2:40 I think Chester's chorus is actually kind of in the nasal cavity. A trick he might have picked up from Chris Cornell
Awesome to hear two experts talking about another expert. Thanks for the awesome video and keep on rocking!
Keep in mind that he sounded that perfect, after singing God knows how many songs before. It's one thing to pull off this one song alone, it's difficult enough, but just imagine doing it during a concert,He was,and always will be a legend!
If I remember right, in this video, this was towards the end of the concert, I think almost 2 hours
he probably did the best given up cover I Have heard. such a great treat to get some insight on how he does it!
Andy - “You artICulate with your hEAd voice”

well there are different approaches to screaming. you can do it differently than chester and get a 16 scream with good breath management. but that GIVEN UUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPP note in the chorus is just insane every time. there is no easy way to do that!
btw I have the same cajon that can be seen in the background^^
I love watching Chris's reactions and emotions so much! 😃👍
Guys, you are the best of the best!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I love this, I've been able to do this for some time now, and it doesn't really take a lot of effort at all. I'm nearly 56 now, so never think your too old to do this stuff.
love these Collaboration! andy sounds awesome.
This was awesome man! Chester Bennington the GOAT!
Bro Andy is such an amazing singer, this was amazing to watch, he basically can do anything with his voice on command, amazing!!!
An amazing video with a lot of help how to do with examples, thanks, guyz!
Sat watching this, Shivering with goosebumps every time we hear Chester. Great video Chris!! Really great. 🔥
Absolutely loved this video of you two together, you are both heroes and Andy is AMAZING! 😝
Jesus, I thought this could not be done, but it can apparently
I saw Monuments open for Leprous in Barcelona and I was blown by Andy's showmanship and vocal craft!
From that moment I was hooked! 🫶🏻👹
This was great. What a nice breakdown of a cool track. Thanks to both of you for hooking it up with the vocal content. I see our voice the same way Andy does where we have built in distortion and fx within our voice box. It's just learning to use it, just like learning how to use it on the computer when adding fx.
Never ever have I seen these explanations. This is so interesting.
absolutely incredible, may Chester rest
Most entertaining ANYTHING ive seen in a while. I watched the whole vid, gratefully. I think im gonna go check out Monument, 😆
The collab I didn't know I needed omllll
Andy Videos are THE BEST!
I swim like a rock but I know how to hold breath. I've needed to go hard at times. Breath control is astounding. Andy is doing great and I thought he was meh a few years ago. Go hard, Andy
Chester paved the way. Andy is perfecting the craft. They are such such huge influences
Shoutout to Andy's periphery shirt, goat activities
Back in the day I thought they looped that scream since I believed you couldn't keep it up for that long... holy sh*t I was mindblown when I first saw that live and other people covering it. Daniel Tompkins has a sick version of that song aswell haha
