In Scotland we protect the pike and we do have loch with many species in them . Sometime pike can be good for waters as they also pray on dead fish and scavenge and eventually clean the waters . A bit like crows on our roads .
Oh I definitely agree! Just here in Utah we have a protected species called the June sucker that is native to Utah lake and it’s tributaries, the pike here are invasive and have a kill order on them, I wish we could release them
I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But my second time going to this spot today revealed that they are putting up a fence around it. Talked to the guy putting up the fence. Apparently, the owner is planning on having sheep and goats on the spot. Bummer...
I caught something similar to that down on the lake off the Davis Dyke about fifteen years ago. Took it to the DNR , and they told me it was a hybrid that got released (that wasn't supposed to be). It was actively feeding in the white bass schools.
Nice to see you again, there is nothing wrong with taking a break. Nice fish I have seen allot of pike come out of Utah lake this year. I love it! Great job!👍
I have to admit i found this spot based on the tops of those buildings lol. I will definitely keep it a secret! But i had to come back and say i got my first pike!! I wish there was a way for me to send you a picture. Tight lines brother im always down to fish if you ever need a buddy!
Question, I have been after them since the last ice season. But I can even find where they are and I keep seeing people catching them. Where should I go????????
Well done, what a fun day of multi-species fishing. Fantastic stuff
Thank you so much 🙏 one of the best days I’ve had in awhile I appreciate you watching it
Keep that spot secret, that is my favorite secret spot👍
Oh you bet dude 👍🏻
Pulled lots of carp and white bass from that spot over the years. Nice job with the pike. Definitely a fun area and really close to home 👍
Good to see you back.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Looks like an awesome day out on the lake! Nice pike!
Thanks for watching 🙏
look like a fun day , I was kayaking on the jordan river and it seems like the carps are ready to be fished
Thank you for watching, where in the Jordan river do you take your yak? I’ve never really fished it too much maybe I’ll go check it out
You just found out why the Sun Fish and Trout are gone, haha. Great catch.
No kidding! 😅

Thank you man, yeah this year has been a hot year for pike I love it, wish they didn’t have to die.
So far, I've only pulled carp out of this spot. Lots of moss
Nice video! I just started working as a biologist on Utah Lake and am trying to find spots where Northern Pike may be so we can set nets. Any ideas?
Thank you 🙏 I’m sure y’all know but lower hobble creek is full of them, Provo bay as well.
@@10thcast52 Thanks! Good luck to you out there.
We’re is that
What creek is this part of?

Nice to see you getting those pike out of there. If they start to wipe out the endangered fish I can see the whole lake being poisoned to save them.
Exactly, that’s what I try to tell people. Or if they were to fail with the recovery program it might turn into a federal thing

@@ruilongzhang9411 I'm not a pike fisherman but I hear where the Provo River enters Utah Lake is a good spot.
@@ruilongzhang9411 if you go to the creek just north of lindon marina there are tons there, any river that flows into Utah lake will have a few.
@@10thcast52Thank you for the information. I will go try my luck tomorrow.
:)
:D
