Dont forget to tell everyone how easy it is to catch carp and catfish and trout in just about any waterway in the valley! No need to drive in the mountains if you wanna avoid a drive.
Try Tenkara rods in those small streams. Tenkara rods can be cast in much tighter spots than a western rig. I love the creek in this video. I fish it often. It doesn't hold the big fish is used to. I did land a 21" brown in there Nov 2021 and some nice cuts higher up. Tenkara rods and small creeks are like peanut butter and jelly. One of my favorite secret spots was sadly ruined by swaddle steps put in to control erosion. That little creek I used to fish had so many browns 10-14" It was a sad say when I discovered it was no longer fishable. It's awesome fishing with your boys. Teach them stream etiquette and stewardship and they will hopefully have beautiful rivers to share with their kids.
Newby here, can you eat the fish, and if so how many? I was thinking on going camping/fishing with my son and maybe eat some fish. Is this allowed in Utah. I just got my fishing license.
Yes. It's allowed. If you look at the Utah Fishing Guidebook it lists all the bodies of water in the state and tells you where you can keep fish and how many.
I lived in Southern Utah for 3.5years and not once did I go fishing, despite the fact that I have been a fly fisherman since the 80’s. I really regret leaving Utha and moving back to NY :(
If there's so many why tf can't I find any my whole family has always just went to a lake put a line in the water and waited and it bugs the hell out of me I've been trying to find some small stream to go to and I can't find any and I've lived here my entire life
There are a lot of factors that go into catching fish. I've been on boats at Strawberry where we caught almost 100 and I've fished Strawberry from the shore before and been skunked. Fish in streams can be very easily spooked out of eating. Where have you gone fishing?
@@UtahFishingChannel ponds and lakes because my entire family doesn't like to fish so they don't want to hike to fish and find decent spots so we go to overpopulated lakes and ponds usually a 2 tiny ponds that I've seen some good 5 pound fish jn but can't manage to catch anything but the bluegill and sunfish they eat
I had a dream one time, there were these marble lights in Gods hand. There were different levels of brightness. The more dim ones showed first. They were glowing but not bright enough to light anything around them. Then Gods voice came into my mind and said “these lights bring me joy” then he shuffled the lights in his hands until the brighter ones shown. The brighter lights were bright enough to light the darkness around them. Then Gods voice came again and said “but these ones give me strength.” The marbles represent people. And the light is the love and obedience to God they emanate. I believe that the parable in my dream represented the strength we give to God when we strive to share the light with others! We can do this by praying for others! Serving others, sharing the gospel and the doctrine with others, and sharing our testimonies of God and Jesus! We actually give him strength? Well, not directly but directly through serving others we serve our God. It says so in the Bible:)
If people would stop this catch and release nonsense and fish for their actual food needs, we won't have issues with over fishing certain areas. You don't need to be at a spot just yanking fish out day after day. Get what you need to eat for the month and stop.
You clearly don’t get it. The feel when you land a fish on a lure that you didn’t know would work is one of the best feelings ever. And most anglers that I know are super careful so the fish can stay healthy. People like me fish for fun and to get away. I never eat the fish I catch it’s just preference. And if you have a problem with it, don’t go bitching in a fishing comment section.
I'm subscribed. I have western state outdoors, wild utah outdoors, wild utah adventures, and now, Utah Fishing Adventures. We're down here in cedar city, We're locals, that have been Fishing this place for three decades. If you want to work on projects this upcoming year, message me.

And fried catfish filets are fantastic. Just remember to cut the skins off.
Great video! I especially love that you've got the young boys with you. Nice job Dad!

I'm a spoons and spinners guy. Thanks for this video, as I rarely every try Utah's rivers and streams. Good to see how it's done.
Thanks for watching!
This is good stuff. Just started fly fishing and love it. Thanks for the tips.
Welcome to a lifelong addiction 😬😅
I’m researching about fishing in Utah. This is literally the first Utah fishing video I’ve ever seen. Hello from Alberta 🇨🇦
Great video! Ice-creams the key! Love fishing tribs and small creeks here in Utah!👍
Thanks! So true :)
Great stream! Unfortunately last time I was there, I had one and lost it at the shore... Got skunked that day.

I'd like to see you work some of those gin clear creeks and rivers, where the fish see you a mile away
Ha ha, those are fun! There's one super close to my house!
Just have to know how.
There's one I know where the fish see you pull up to the parking lot 200 yards away, and go down and hide. Love it!
Any recommendations for Ogden area? Looking for river fishing like this?
The Ogden, Weber and Logan rivers are all great!

Best fishing spot in Utah county! Use blue fox vibrax silver or gold and you'll knock them dead!
Agreed! I'll have to try that sometime!
I was about to give you a thumbs down for blasting out locations. Thank you for not! Good fishing with the boys.
if they sometimes die. I say "don't catch and release. Feed your family bro!"
You keep losing em dad you gotta keep your line tight!!!! Sounds like something my smartasses would say 😂
He let's me have it all the time. Ha ha.
