You're trying to steer while in neutral. You can't steer or control anything in neutral. Go in and out of idle. Put the bow in the wind to hold a position with what you have. Also, you and the co-angler need to fish in opposite directions. You are both working in the same spot instead of covering water.
It cracks me up when a boat has two casting decks and two people still cramp up the front. When I was growing up, my dad got the front and drove while I got the back. I knew my spot

We have the exact same boat put Marine grease in the rear steering bar to steer waaayyy easier. You will see a grease entrance point on multiple part grease those as well.

You should’ve got hydraulic steering if your struggling with steering it also you should only have to put revs on when starting If the engine is stone cold and won’t start without revs
I’m In a fishing league in Iowa called iyfl aka Iowa youth fishing league and we did 2 tournaments and both tournaments we did not catch any fish, the first tournament was at darling and the second one was Belva deer, also happy birthday elijah
You should swap your trolling motor bc your garmin has spot lock and then you won’t have to worry about having to keep the boat in the same spot with the big motor.
