I love catching the carp. Always a big fish, fun to reel in, and it feels good walking away knowing you pulled some invasive species from the lake. Even if it's not a huge impact the more people fishing them the lower the population goes!!
I really appreciated this video. I'm brand new to fishing utah and as good as new to fishing period. A shirt concise video talking about places to fish and what to use was exactly what I was looking for.👌
Carp are an invasive species and should never be returned to the lake. They have literally destroyed the habitat for for most of the native species, especially Cutthroat trout, which were the predominant species at one to me.
@@UtahFishingChannel nice! I appreciate the response 🙂. I will contact the dwr before I fish for some catfish down in Utah lake 👍 loving the local content btw!
Those catfish are massive!!!! do you guys ever do any fishing up north in the cache county box elder county area? would love to see some videos of you guys fishing up here.
Just one of the streams that flows into Utah Lake. Ha ha. I'd get beat up by a ton of local fisherman if I said the exact location. But look for the deeper holes in the tributaries.
Great video! Do you mind listing some good Utah lake tributaries for us amateurs to try our luck at? I feel like the only places I’ve had lots of success fishing is at stocked ponds, but I would love to go after different species like you do!
Thanks for watching! Provo River right where it flows into Utah Lake is good to try for the next month or two! Mill Race is another good one. All the other tributaries are small enough that if I list them here, people will get mad at me. Ha ha. But if you use Google maps and look for all the little streams that flow into Utah Lake, they should all be a really good bet this time of year.
Ha ha. There are some catfish that make him look small! You're already a trooper for swimming in Utah Lake as long as you have! ;) Or are you saying you swim in THAT SPOT??
Awesome tips. Thanks for sharing them.
Hey, thanks for sharing your bait ideas. Hotdogs? Who knew?
That spot look so cool to fish is that in the Provo bay or Saratoga springs
Hey man where is this spot will u please share with us ??
It’s a tributary to Utah lake that has since been fenced off :/
But you can find spots like this in many Utah lake tributaries

Thanks for watching!
I have caught nice walleye out of that whole as well !!!!!!
Awesome!
What a great day with great variety. I'll take bluegill like that any day. Great looking cat!
Same! And in some places, you just can't keep those bluegill off!
Looks like a fun day, I’m gonna have to hit Utah lake soon
It was a blast!
I am with you on the Carp, definitely the funnest catch and release fish!
So fun!!

@@johnnyonthespot1665 I agree, they are a problem. Fun to catch though.
Hey just want to know can I have this kind of harvest by fishing at Utah Lake State Park without a boat?
Yep! Especially with white bass during the months of May and June. Focus on fishing the tributaries this time of year.
@@UtahFishingChannel That's nice, but what about catfish, bluegill, and carp?
Can you eat fish out of Utah Lake and its tributaries? Or is the water too gross?
You can, but I play it safe. Ha ha. I'd talk to the Utah Fish and Wildlife experts.
