    I wish you would have had pointed out the two bolts at the bottom of the power steering pump bracket and showed how you swing the bracket out of the way. I've gotten the top two done and one on the bottom by the oil pan, but that 4th bolt is,a mystery.

    @nightintheruts617 Sebrings are hard to work. I also have a Chevy and had one before this one. The last Chevy was perfect for 230,000 miles and traded it in. I bought that new and zero problems. I like the Sebring ragtops. Actually the Sebring is not if you are are aware of certain things. The Gen I Sebrings are about average. The later ones with the 2.7 engine I would avoid, especially the 2001 to 2003.

    @nightintheruts617 Yep. Of the Gen I's {1996 to 2000}. The 2000 is best one. Lots of stupid little quirks on Chryslers. I post stuff as I see the problems. A lot of stuff is not a big deal If you know what to look for. I'll take a Gen I over the later ones with the 2.7. The Mitsubishi engine is very durable.

    Hi syyenergy7....I have a 1997 convertible that I picked up for my sons first car. I have decided to try this job since the last time I had a timing belt changed on another vehicle is was $900. The job is not easy, but I have made progress so far until I tried to loosen those 2 bolts in the back you warned us about. They are so tight. I can get a short handled ratchet on them but if I try a longer handled ratchet obviously there is no room to swing it. I did read where some people dropped the motor to try and gain access, and I looked at doing that , but I really cant see that being any help with such a difficult location and a ton of stuff in the way to again swing a long handle wrench. I thought of using an air ratchet but I an sure you cant get it down in that small space. My question is how did you finally get them loose. What setup worked for you? Did you have to fabricate something? Any help at this point would be appreciated.

    • @syyenergy7
      @syyenergy7  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I kept tapping the wrench with a hammer. That works after a while. They are a pain remove.

    I know it's been awhile since this video was made when removing the harmonic balancer on having the timing sprocket is coming with it any suggestions in the how to separate the two

    • @syyenergy7
      @syyenergy7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see how that could possibly happen, unless you tool the belt off first. (which you supposed to leave the belt on and remove the belt after the balancer is removed. If the belt Broke, the engine needs valves at the least.

    on those back bolts how did you get them out. 3/8 ratchet with knuckle an or with out knuckle don't work. I'm thinking about go getting a 1/4 inch drive ratchet.

    • @syyenergy7
      @syyenergy7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Eric Jones A 1/4 inch drive will work better. I used a 3/8 stubby ratchet with a swivel head.

    To get that insufferable timing belt cover off, I cut it in half, leaving two bolt on each side. Gave me enough wiggle room.

    the car was running just fine just had the water pump leaking trying to remove the harmonic balancer if I pull it out it slides back in on its own timing belt still intact

    • @syyenergy7
      @syyenergy7  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      While tapping the balancer wedge something between the pulley and balancer. Don't force anything.

    I removed and loosened The 2 15 mm bolts in the back, but the bracket is not moving. I keep hitting it with a hammer and still it's not moving. What gives? And how can I fix this?

      Besides the 215's? I removed all of the upper plastic cover bolts, but I'm having a real hard time getting it out. Do I need to remove any more bolts , You said there are two more, where are they located and what size are they?

      +Tom Steinheiser They are on the same bracket. underneath. Use a spotlight and look for them on that same bracket from under the car.

      @nathandudley6140 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to get to but if you have it on jack stands and come from underneath on your back you can uncomfortably remove them

      Try tapping the balancer with a hammer all around it to loosen it. Take your time. That's unusual what happened.

    Sebring Convertible, Fix LED Console Light with EL Inverter
    th-cam.com/video/ekKtSPcjXpI/w-d-xo.html
    The shift indicator lights on the console typically will not work or the light will go out
    intermittently from time to time. This is a common problem on the Chrysler Sebring convertible The problem of the shift indicator light or console light not working is usually a simple solution that arises from a faulty or defective EL inverter. This video shows how to fix it.
