I think if I had one tip to offer people that have never been to the islands it would be to make sure to set aside one day per week to do nothing other than relax at your resort, or at a nearby beach for the day. You need a day to rest up so that you’re not completely exhausted from trying to see everything, especially on the big island.
That is a great tip! Thanks for sharing with the team.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos!
So much helpful information and they bring back many
fond memories being in Hawaii with my wife and daughter.
I do also want to say I really like and appreciate that you
take your children with you. You and them are making lifetime memories.
After our daughter was born she went everywhere with us. If she wasn't allowed
in a restaurant or on a tour we went or did something else that
should be a part of.
One little thing we do different. Our first morning
in Hawaii we make ourselves sleep as late as we can so we
acclimate our bodies to being on Hawaii time instead of
east coast time. However as you do I definitely encourage everyone
to do what works best for them.
Thank you for another great video!
Your cousin in eastern NC, Mike
aloha Mike, thank you so much for watching and for the lovely comment! It is great that our kids like traveling with us and we keep it fun for them, so they continue to travel with us. Do what works for you on jet lag! We try to keep ours up at night so they sleep in a bit in the morning.
Online ordering for little fish was perfect! Grab and go to Poipu beach! Thanks for the tips!
Big Island and Oahu in September. Hawaii is our happy place!
That is wonderful! It is our happy place too. Check out this article for details: thehawaiivacationguide.com/hawaii-in-september/
Going to the Big Island for the second time next week! First time going to Hawaii in May excited to see how the weather is. Then in July I'm going back to Oahu! Love the Hawiian Islands!
May is one of the best months for weather! See here for some data: thehawaiivacationguide.com/hawaii-in-may/
We are coming to the Big Island this July to celebrate our 10th Anniversary and will stay for 15 days...we couldn't be more excited about it! My husby has already been there for the Iron Man twice, but for me it'll be my first time and I am trully looking forward! Manta Ray snorkling, Zipline, Luau, a Coffee-Farm Tour and a Waterfalls + Volcano Park Tour are already booked, but always with a day in between to just relax at the beach and eat good food. And, of course, our vow renewal ceremony at the beach! I just hope these 2 months till July go by fasttttt, so that we can be there in Hawaii as soon as possible! Aloha from Switzerland =)
Happy 10th anniversary! Have a wonderful trip to the Big Island. It sounds like you are hitting all of our favorite spots and tours. Check our Big Island planning video if you haven't already: th-cam.com/video/S_8Kra9OtJE/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching from Switzerland. We visited the Jungfrau region last year. Just amazing.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide The tips of where to go and what to do in Kona we got from watching your Videos, thanks a lot! You guys are the BEST traveling content creators EVER! And the Jungfrau region is really beautiful, I would say Switzerland is a wonderful place to visit...unfortunately we don't have the beach nearby, but the Alps and lakes are just breathtaking. Take care and keep up the good work, we are very thankful for all the quality content that you share with us.
Love your channel!
Hey, cool, you took and shared my advice I'd been commenting here for a couple years now!-
Always always always keep rechecking rates after booking on hotels and car rentals!
Woohoo!🤘🏾🤙🏾
Thanks for another amazing video! ❤
Thanks for watching! Have a great trip!
The hotel rate is a great tip!! We are getting reimbursed a little over $250 due to price drop!! More mai tais 😁
That is great to hear! Enjoy the Mai Tais!
Planning on a trip to Maui with my daughter next March! Neither of us drive so we'll be utilizing the bus system and renting bikes to get around. Which means no traffic because bike lanes! 😊
That's great! enjoy getting around without a car. Check out this article for Maui tips without a car: thehawaiivacationguide.com/how-to-get-around-maui-without-a-car/
Excellent tips. especially 5a. I booked a cave tour last summer in PR, it was on the day before I was to leave, and they ended up canceling the tour due to the relentless rain. I was so disappointed.
Thanks for sharing your example! The weather is great in Hawaii but when it isn’t, it can get unsafe for some tours.
Love your show guys. We hope to retire to Maui in the next few years. Have been frequent visitors since 2008. Just a thought, have you guys ever considered teaming with a realtor on you videos and advising us wanna be kama’āina on real estate?
Thanks for subscribing and best of luck on the move. We like to stick vacationing as moving is a whole other experience. There are some good Hawaii Real Estate channels, especially on Oahu. Hello from Hawaii is our favorite for info on daily life.
Cool video I love you guys for the pass year I been wanting to go to hawaii so bad but also wanted to do as much research as possible first.
Enjoy the research! It is our favorite part.
I'm planning a trip to Oahu during the pokemon worlds and your videos have been a huge help
That is wonderful to hear! Best of luck at the championships if you're competing! What a great location for them.
Great video as always, can't wait for our trip, we have learned so much from you guys, thank you so much! Audio is a bit weird on this one, not sure what changed.
It was weird! Our wireless microphones were picking up background noise. Getting good audio is a challenge and the most important part.
If we are flying into Oahu on a Tuesday, coming from Florida, I am assuming significant jetlag. Where would you recommend we spend day 2? I'm thinking Lanikai Pillbox Trail for sunrise, then maybe spend the rest of the day at the beach. We have 10 nights, split between Oahu and Maui, so we don't need to rush.
Thanks for always providing great info!
That is a great idea! Sunset is gorgeous and then you have parking for the beach. Friendly reminder to be quiet in the neighborhood.
Have yall received your 100k subscriber play button yet?
We did! TH-cam sent it to us right after we hit 100k. We didn't do a celebration or anything as the Lahaina Fires happened at the same time.
We have a summer trip planned! There are a couple of activities that require pants (helicopter and zip line). Would jeans work or do you recommend another type of pants?
That’s a good pint! Horseback riding too. Jeans work. Linen pants would be cooler and you could wear them out. Wear what you’re comfortable with
Have you done a helicopter tour and would you recommend?
We have taken Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tours twice once in Maui and once in Oahu. The are good folks. My advice is pay the extra money to sit up front with the pilot. You can see everything unobstructed
@@wnmech6495 thank you. We are thinking of one in Kauai and are looking at that company and one other company that has only 2 seats in the back which guarantees views.
Aloha Mark, this company has the best safety record and they offer an airplane ride too. See if this one looks right for you. thehawaiivacationguide.com/activities/best-kauai-helicopter-tour/
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide this is the company we were considering so thank you so much for sharing, I really appreciate it!
Are your restaurants divided by budget friendly vs splurge????
We list the average price per plate so you can find what you are looking for! We organize the restaurants by island region. Thanks for asking!
I was in Waikiki October 2024. Returning to Hawaii in feb 2025. Looking to do Maui for 1 week and 1 week I Kauai. What island domyou recommend I stay at first. 8 definitely meant to do a whale watching tour.
See where you can get the best flight deals on going to first. Maui has some good deals right now and more flights so it is easier to fly into Maui, then Kauai, then out of Kauai or Honolulu. Enjoy the whale watching on Maui!
I can't find space for the sunrise :( I'm going next week
bummer! if the permits are sold out for sunrise, consider doing a guided tour as they get allocated permits: thehawaiivacationguide.com/best-haleakala-sunrise-tours/
Wow, you make it sound like people can afford everything you recommend! Not everyone is rich.
